Hey all,

 

My first update, working on getting the quick ones out of the way. The easiest one is done, one of the 2 fox games I started with my girlfriend that we didn't finish because it was a bit boring. The art is beautiful but the platforming and puzzles are very bare-bones.

enjoy i have been thinking aswell what to play so i started with slay the spire and unlocked a trophie i took a break from.the games i was doing so moving up to slay the spire and probably days gone and nioh should be my next games these months i going to take a break from persona games since persona 5 strikers and dancing in starlight is already platinum trophie??? but now my interest have been moved to other games that where standing in my backlog and on my library for a very long time so i hope you enjoy the games you are playing right now but can somebody explain the progress since that is something i dont understand i saw progress from 1 until 50 percentage can somebody explain please

Progress:

I decided to start with JP import Hello Kitty. Even though I can't read japanese, the gameplay is very easy to understand. Soon I was on a roll and beat Easy, Normal and Hard mode. Credits rolled, so I thought that was it. Turns out there are 1 or 2 extra difficult series to beat. Some of them are really challenging with darkness, speed boosters and enemies shooting. Persistence is key with this one.

I only had time to play Fall of the Foot Clan today. I played Fall of the Foot Clan once when I was younger, but I found it too hard at the time, so didn't get very far. It's a short, basic, straightforward side scroller, but not a bad one. Rewind made this one quite a bit easier, since some of the boss fights were pretty tough.

You can check your progress on your profile. In this event we try to get the games on our list to 100% by the end of November, so usually our updates will show what percentage those games we chose are…I haven’t really made any progress yet so my games look like this

I started The Forsaken Maiden and it's alright so far? I'm not a big fan of the fixed equipment and how some characters are at fixed levels. My friend tells me that the story gets really good though so hoping for a fun time! ?

Finally got my first game done, after so many days. I learned about the gold statues that you could use to warp you through the dungeon so you don't have to fight your way through them to get the Class 4 bosses... on my second run. *sigh* Hawkeye was the last character I had to promote to Class 4 to get the platinum. Yes, I could have done the second run with the opposite characters so I could just get all six Class 4 changes in two runs... but I can't not have Charlotte on my team, the game guilts you into taking her!!!

 

Also, Charlotte's my go-to healer.

 

Since you have to do all three storylines anyways, splitting the class 4 quests amongst them wasn't that bad.

First Run: Goremand campaign using Charlotte(High Cleric => High Priestess), Reisz(Star Lancer => Meteorite) and Angela(Grand Diviner => Mystic Queen - all three were Light path). Only wiped once to Dolan because of his stupid mechanics. Actually got the "Anise on Hard" trophy here to my surprise. I thought htat Anise on Hard would wreck my soul by Mental Boost Doppleganger

Second Run: Dragon Lord campaign using Duran(Duelist => Berserker), Kevin(Fatal Fist => Annihilator) and Charlotte(Necromancer => Chaosbringer), killed the Black Rabite on this run, and it was probably the worst boss in the game as it should be as it's the Vorpal Bunny from Monty Python's Holy Grail. All three got to Level 99 with the chain ability.

Third Run: Archdemon campaign with Hawkeye as the leader(Nightblade => Vigilante) and Charlotte, but this time I decided not to take Kevin but went with Reisz as I could use her buffs and it made sense storywise. I had to go Warlock with Charlotte as I thought the Blood Bottle was Necromancer. Oops. I decided to go Vanadis with Reisz this time since I wasn't Class 4 changing these two, I only had to complete this last campaign and do the Class 4 quest for Hawkeye, which was a fitting character to end the platinum quest on. Hawkeye is my favorite male character in the game. I decided to have Hawkeye meet Charlotte first at Cascade Cavern(you meet her there no matter who is in your party) and the dialogue was amusing...

 

Charlotte: Let's go, recruits!

Hawkeye: If you were only 10 years older... I'd gladly be your recruit.

 

Really?

 

 

This was a great game and I recommend it if you want to get into the Mana series. I have nothing against Adventures or Secret and Legend of Mana(which I will start up for the GBN event) is quaint, but you can't deny how amazing this game became when Square-Enix gets enough money to do a transition to 3D. I am not a griefer of how the Secret of Mana remake was handled - Jirard the Completionist already griped about the condition of that remake game - but I don't deny that if Trials had undergone the same treatment it wouldn't become as popular as it is.

 

I plan on knocking out Celeste and Bonds of Skies soon, just need to take a break. ?

I got the "Can't Cat-ch Me" trophy this morning and then slept until the plat. Pretty meh on that game; it was good, but I know someone who says it is their game of the year, and it isn't that for me. It was good for what it was, just not outstanding. Maybe I've just been too stressed out about the style. ?

 

I got back into Sekiro and beat four more enemies with prayer beads. Put together a spreadsheet to track "collectables," but I'm already struggling. I know I can do it, but this will be a hard platinum for me.

 

Otherwise, Tales and I have been working on Monster Hunter World. I think neither of us plans on putting that here, with the massive grind towards the end, but we will be working on it throughout this.

 

Next for me for a relaxing game is probably Wytchwood or going back to My Time at Portia since I already started that one.

Change of plans. I have decided to wait until spring to take my break, but will keep fall and winter split up since I’m too lazy to reconfigure it.  Next fall, I’ll host them together again. Also, going to suspend instituting a time limit until next summer. I’m unsure if I’ll participate this winter, but will be hosting now. Thank you all.

Tonight, I did Turtles in Time, which is probably my favorite TMNT game of all time. However, I mainly played the SNES version and this was my first foray into the arcade version. I did play Ubi's remake of it some years back, but wasn't real impressed. This reminded me why I enjoyed this one so much and will be saving TMNT IV for my last trophy before the platinum. Like TMNT arcade, I didn't worry too much about how careful I was since you have unlimited "quarters". I also played Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Back from the Sewers for Game Boy. This is one I had never played before. It wasn't the best TMNT game, but far from the worst. Think they got a little overboard with the enemy spawn near the end. More games in unfamiliar territory next time.

Whuttup, fellow challengers?

 

Feels like the week went by pretty quickly, and I was only able to make headway in two games?

 

 

Now, I am not a particularly skilled gamer by any means, so I'm sure that some 'git gud bro's are in order, but I'm finding The Hong Kong Massacre gruesomely difficult. The kinda sorta Hotline Miami knockoff trying to add some John Woo into the mix is a genuinely bad ass game, made all the more impressive by the fact that two people developed it, and is addicting as hell. Unfortunately it is also riddled with flaws, but that's a talk for when I finish this monstrosity!

 

I've definitely made it harder on myself by refusing to use the slow motion mechanic for my first time through all the levels, but I'm on the final day now and it is brutal. Thankfully I've been keeping up with the challenges as I go (except for the speed runs) so hopefully once I'm done with the first time around, the rest won't be too painful.

 

Except that part where you have to make it through the first two chapters without dying. Gulp.

 

Hoping to have that and/or Katamari Damacy Reroll done this time next week. The latter has been a wonderful blast from the past, I've really been enjoying it. Not looking forward to having to make sure I've rolled up everything in the game, but it's been a good time so far?

Second game is done and dusted. I thought Bonds of the Skies would take me forever, but I remembered that you can buy in-game cheats which gives you triple EXP, make you do double damage, and there is a speed-up function in-game. The only time I nearly wiped was the final boss, who used instant-death on everyone but the main because I had to swap out the anti-death amulets to protect myself from petrification. Kemco games are hard! Goodbye $14.99 for all those premium purchases.

 

But with that out of the way, I can finally move on... eventually. I plan on Celeste next but it won't be easy because while I could cheese the entire game and ignore the mechanics with Assist Mode, you can't cheese the Pico-8-bit game you have to complete and it's annoying. Wish me luck.

Nier was a replay for me, such a great game! Could listen to the music all day, definetly a recommend for those who haven't played it.

 

Made some story progression in Yakuza and a bit of misc trophies done, managment minigame is all done ? having only played half of 0 previously I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything by playing LAD.

 

Two point campus is my go to chill game until I get the plat, it's easier/faster than hospital but still enjoyable.

Update 1 - 9/7/2022

 

Ar nosurge Plus 1% 3%

 

I got completely sucked in to Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis since it launched so my challenge progress so far is one whole trophy. I started out playing Hotline Miami 2 but didn't get any new trophies. Made it to level 10 and just wasn't enjoying it so I dropped it. Not swapping it out yet. I'll go back to it after completing a couple of other games on my list and give it another shot. If it doesn't click for me at that point, then I'll swap it out.

 

For now, I've moved on to Ar nosurge Plus. It's...fine so far. Between the main story, synthesizing items, and Diving into the different characters' emotional worlds or whatever it all feels very disjointed. Plus it has that thick smear of anime creepiness all over it, with younger characters in bath scenes and questionable outfits and the whole "inserting crystals" thing. This game is joining Criminal Girls on the "just playing it to clear it out of my backlog" list. Luckily, getting the plat seems pretty straightforward and there's a good walkthrough on GameFAQs so I should be able to knock this out before next week's update. If I can stop playing PSO2 so much, anyway.

 

Plans for this week are to finish Ar nosurge Plus and then start on Criminal Girls. Might as well get the creepiest games out of the way first.

I don't blame your lack of progress. I had platinumed Criminal Girls on a much older account and let me say I am never doing that again, the combat system is horrible RNG and I'm sure that I'd get slapped with a Leisure Suit Larry sticker if people saw me 'punishing' the girls to make them stronger. That didn't really help because every level spikes so hard in difficulty you want to cry. And you have to do multiple playthroughs to get all the endings which stinks. Still, a niche title which I am sure will make a lot of red-blooded happy. After all, it's soft porn anime.

 

Disgaea 3, you're doing the PS3 version. Good luck, bro. That's the harder version. Still, while 3 was my favorite Disgaea, it's so annoying hard because a lot of the mechanics which make Disgaea 6 AFKfest aren't in that game. Also, I did play Cybersleuth, got to the plat in one account but when I tried to play it again it gave me an error and shut down. Maybe it was because I was trying to play the Vita version. Wish I could play it again.

This was my first outing with TMNT III: The Manhattan Project. You get to see the original NYC skyline with the Twin Towers, which was kind of sad. Visually, it's the nicest of the NES trilogy. Music wasn't too shabby, either. One small touch I liked was the fact that the pics and logo on the bottom of the screen had all four turtles with red bandannas like they are in the original comics, though the playable Turtles had their individual colors. Gameplay was pretty good, too. Really enjoying these old school games. 

 

I haven't mentioned it, but with the exception of TMNT NES, where I alternated between Leonardo and Donatello, I've been playing as Raphael, who has always been my favorite character. I do plan on giving Michelangelo some play time, too. 

 

Meant to be closer to finishing, but I've been busy and don't want to rush it. I can replay this and do it faster when I have a PS5, but who knows when that'll be.

60% done, 3rd game in the bag, did it really quickly. I tried to podcast over it but the music is so amazing I was ashamed to mute the game. Seriously, this is one of the most popular speedrun games out there... of course, I can't boast PBs since I used the Assist Mode, but PICO-8 was annoyingly frustrating.

 

So now it's down to Maxwell or... Maxwell. (Yeah, the main characters of the games I have left are both named Max. ) I already have the rest of my five-pack for the current set and these two games aren't in that set, so they will have to wait. I have two months so it's no big deal. At least the fun and easy games are out of the picture.

I’m starting a bit slow, I blame my other consoles for that, but Planet Coaster is going nicely just need a few more campaign missions. With Watch Dogs I’m in act 3 and already at 65% so once I’m done with the story I don’t need to do a lot of cleanup.

This week I will finish one of my other console games so I will have more time for this list, maybe I do The Order since it’s a short and easy game or I go full in on Planet Coaster, who knows? I aim for at least one platinum next week.
