Johambubger
I have ADD, so I really struggle with sitting down and devoting all my attention to a TV show or movie. I really want to watch more stuff though, and playing a game at the same time seems to help with my fidgeting and attention issues. I'm looking for some peaceful PS3, PS4 or VITA games I can absentmindedly play, where there is no timer or risk of dying and losing progress if I look away from the screen for a while. (I know you can pause almost any game, but I want to avoid pausing and unpausing all the time, it's kind of stressful. It also can't be a very story-heavy game, as I won't be able to pay attention to two stories at the same time. That rules out most turn-based RPGS I can think of. I've thought about farming games like Stardew Valley or Harvest Moon, but they all feature day & night systems from what I can tell. I know this is a weird request, but if by any chance someone knows of any games that could be up my alley, do tell. I'd love to hear about them. AJ_-_808
What about mahjong, pool, poker or other card games?
Quink666
Any of the trash plats that only require you to push the button 500 times. Only bad part is that you’ll have the plat before the movie/show starts.
Rankaisija84
Gems of war. I just watch music videos and play this.
Sylvanticore
I only just now started playing it but might I suggest VA-11 Hall-A? [VA-11 HALL-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action is an indie bartender simulation video game with visual novel elements] I thought the game itself may be stressful but even before you start the game it comes up with a notice saying this. Thank you for playing VA-11 Hall-A! This game is best played getting comfortable.Grab some drinks, some snacks and enjoy! So sit back and relax. We hpe you have a good time! Granted it is a story game but I can assure you that there is no time limit to reading, no pressure of doing the wrong thing, and even when you make a drink for someone, there is no time limit and evenything you need to know is in a book that appears on the top left of the screen. You are free to take your time with it.
VanDeaM
I've been doing this for many years so I have alot of answers. - Action RPG's (Diablo 3, Torchlight, Van Helsing). - Loot Shooters (Borderlands, Anthem, Destiny, Outriders, The Division) - The Dynasty Warrior series (or any of the other Warrior like games) - Platinum's where you must complete every side quest. (Cyberpunk, middle earth, sleepy dogs, any open world Ubisoft game) Not Yakuza, because every side quest is awesome and worth your time. - Monster Hunter and all of the monster hunter clones (I don't like these games) - Other random games, Xenoverse, Orcs Must Die, Sword Art Online, FF15, Edited August 13, 2022 by VanDeaM
Mr_Stkrdknmiblz
Stardew Valley Theres a day/night timer but its not really a factor beyond progressing the game and you can't really fail the game because of it.
Komrade_Dusty
I do audiobooks instead of TV, but simulator games (Farming Simulator, that kind of stuff) or management games (Cities Skylines, Two Point Hospital) that don't require any kind of quick reaction work well. I also listen to audiobooks while doing sports games, but I don't think that would work well if you are looking at something else frequently.

That's a good idea. While I think there should be plenty of times, you should be pretty focused on Stardew Valley, you can take it more at your own pace. Letenko
If you want more of a general recommendation, I usually do stacks while I watch stuff on my 2nd monitor. It's quite relaxing and you know what to expect in a game. Other than that I really enjoy open world games, especially Ubisoft titles where you can mindlessly collect stuff and do side activities without too much focus. mega-tallica
Instead of having two visual experiences going at the same time like a video game and TV which is pretty hectic to keep up with, even for someone with ADD I'd imagine, maybe instead have a video game and then some kind of audio sensory input going as a background like music or podcasts or an audiobook or something like that to keep you engaged in both things. I tend to do that myself for racing games or other sports games where you don't really need to listen to the audio of the game to play and having some kind of external audio helps me maintain interest in the game that may otherwise be losing my interest. Or even open-world games with a lot of trivial side content to complete (think Ubisoft titles), I'll mute the game, put on some good music or a podcast and just go to work on completing all that boring ass side content. I find that greatly helps keeping me engaged in the game while also enjoying some good tunes or laughing at a podcast at the same time. DanZorg420
1st game that comes to the top of my head is Leathal league. You have to spend so much time just playing the game to level up. Whether you win or lose you level up by time spent in game so no need to pause. Story is not heavy at all, barely one. But you will have to beat the story mode once without dying. (Story is 20mins give or take) Other small tasks etc. It is a grind for sure. Depends if your going for 100% or just going to play for a bit, It might be worth taking a look. Tsundokuist
Personally, I'm more into playing games while listening to podcasts (very rarely do I ever have the sound on for games) but I'd recommend giving the Golf mini-game in GTA V a try and if you even briefly enjoy it try a full blown Golf game like Cursed to Golf or Everybody's Golf. Same goes for Baseball (MLB The Show etc), both sports in video game form are basically turn-based so not too intense and leave your mind to follow something else and freely get distracted. Coming at it from the other direction, arcade experiences like Super Monkey Ball or Street Fighter may be a good shout as they're short blasts you can quickly start over without losing anything so they do a good job of keeping your hands busy without occupying the listening/narrative-following part of your brain. ARIXANDRE
I also have ADD and have been avoiding story-heavy games or just playing on mute and tuning in on a cutscene. Grindy games and ones that have repetition. For me: •Death Stranding •Marvel's Avengers •Farming Simulator 19 •Spiritfarer •Wreckfest, F1 games.
