Popular Post MrTacoNinja
I have no idea if anyone else knew about it or even tried it but I could not find a single shred of information anywhere. Not from players I messaged over PSN. Not from the 3 development teams I messaged on all their social media accounts multiple times over 2 weeks (no response ever). Not from any comments on Reddit or in the comments sections on YouTube videos... nothing. Anywhere. So I said screw it and played the part of the guinea pig and found out for myself. I'm happy to report that it's fantastic news for anyone in the future going for the platinum: The trophy, Il Maestro (complete the game on Sniper Elite difficulty), CAN be unlocked playing with custom settings. To those unfamiliar with all this it may not seem like a big deal but oh trust me, it very much is indeed! What this means is, you can play the game on Sniper Elite difficulty but never have to worry about wind or bullet drop and will also have aim assist active (if you choose). None of this was an option prior to the patch that added custom settings. I played about the first 5 or 6 missions on Sniper Elite difficulty (non-custom). There isn't aim assist and you have to factor in wind and bullet drop with every shot you take. Now combine that with the most INFURIATING Aim implementation and you'll have on your hands one of the most rage-inducing, enjoyment-killing games ever. This player, OMG_ThisIsSoEZ over on Reddit, described the Aim gun best when talking about some of the negatives of the game: "The Aim implementation, for some reason, it just doesn’t work. I have never restarted my controller as often as in this game. I’ve had stretches with a reset once every minute, or in between every shot. The main difficulty of this game is your constant fight with the Aim controller. It’s not even the wobble, it’s the rotational drift after a few seconds in scope. This takes an insane amount of fun out of the game as it’s just not feasible to constantly make up for wind, bullet drop, enemy movement AND rotational aim drift. You can’t even fix it by shaking most of the time, which is super odd. Shaking just makes the weapon model freeze and reset in another wrong angle. Only pressing options for a few seconds works somewhat". Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/PSVR/comments/oi1gbg/sniper_elite_vr_review_and_trophyguide/?sort=new The Aim implementation is absolutely fucking ATROCIOUS in this game, the worst I have ever experienced hands down! So trust me, you'll WANT to play on custom settings with Aim Assist on, Bullet Drop off and Bullet Wind off as these settings make this game sooooooooo much more manageable. -UPDATE- Now that I've platinumed this game I just wanted to add a little side note as far as upgrading all the rifles are concerned. The grind honestly isn't too bad overall but it's lame as hell how little variety there is in the things you have to do to upgrade them. It basically has you doing the same shit over and over again for each weapon. The heart shots upgrade is the only annoying one and unfortunately 4 of the 7 rifles require it for a grand total of 80 heart shots needed. For the heart shots I farmed the mission No One is Safe. I guess it really doesn't matter what mission you pick so long as it's not a mission where you're elevated up high in a sniper's nest shooting enemies at a downward angle because you can't really get a good, reliable heart shot from this position. This could've been a fantastic game but they absolutely ruined it with how atrocious and irritating the Aim implementation is. Thefat11
I completed the sniper elite mode legit twice now using the aim controller. Was super fun. Waay more fun than playing easy mode. Yes, the tracking sucked big time. I had to give the gun a shake after each and every shot. Was kinda cool, felt like pumping a shot a shotgun after a round. Here is my playthrough. You can see a few moments of utter frustration with the controller, particularly in the final mission as it has alot of longshots shots.
