Popular Post Charizarzar
Hey PSNP! Welcome back to another member interview. Our current interviewee is @ObsiEez! ObsiEez Standard Questions How did you come up with your PSN name? Funnily enough, I wasn't really the one who came up with it. When I was around 12 or 13 my friend gave me one of his extra Minecraft accounts which had the name ObsiEez. I played a lot of Minecraft back then, so everyone just came to know me as ObsiEez and call me by that name, so I just adopted it for everything by that point and have been using the name ever since. What games convinced you to get your PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5? There wasn't really any games that convinced me to buy any platform other than the Vita. For the Vita, I bought it solely to play Persona 4 Golden and everything else was just a bonus. For PS3, 4, and 5, I never really bought those for specific games and more like just bought them because I enjoyed the consoles. I used to play Xbox 360 more than anything but after all my friends swapped to PS3 I ended up swapping as well and never looked back. What are your top 5 game series and why? Kingdom Hearts: I've been a LOONG time Kingdom Hearts fan ever since the first one came out on PS2 back in 2002. While I wasn't very good at video games back then, I still absolutely loved it as a kid. After Kingdom Hearts 2 came out I begged my mom to buy it for me and would play it pretty much all day. After that I fell out of touch with the series as all the next games came out for platforms I didn't have and I slowly forgot about the game until 2016 when I found 1.5 Remix for the PS3 for $5 in 2016. I instantly bought it and relived my childhood memories while also experiencing titles that I had never played before. From there, I went on & bought 2.5 Remix and relived some more. The story is great and exploring the Disney worlds is extremely fun, especially when coupled with the Final Fantasy characters appearing. Though the gameplay is basic, it still provides some fun, especially when you try to challenge yourself. I could probably talk for HOURS about Kingdom Hearts and just how much I love the games as it's easily my favorite series, got it memorized. Persona: While I only discovered Persona when Persona 5 released, I loved it so much I went back and played all the games and loved those even more. It was a series I slept HEAVILY on and was so glad I made an impulsive purchase to buy Persona 5, because if not for that I wouldn't have gotten to experience these masterpieces. It's a series I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys JRPGs. While the fanbase can be... extremely cringe for a lack of a better term, don't let it ruin the series for you as they're such great titles. The characters and story and fantastic and are easily the best parts of the games. A lot of people aren't a big fan of how much dialogue is in the games, but I personally love it when the game sucks you in with its story and characters. Legend of Zelda: I was a massive Legend of Zelda fan growing up and I still am. I have a bunch of Legend of Zelda merch from limited edition nightlights, pocket watches, and posters. Legend of Zelda was one of the main series I played when I was younger as I had access to just about all the games since my older brother also grew up with the series and would get the games when they came out. Every now and again I still go back to play some Legend of Zelda just to scratch that itch because there aren't really many games like it on PSN that are good. The dungeon crawling aspects of the game and exploration are just so much fun in games. While the story is usually lacking pretty heavily, it makes up for it with just how fun the game is, no matter how simple it is. Dark Souls: Another series I only got into within the last few years that I slept on. My brother bought Dark Souls 1 back around launch and I played it and absolutely HATED it. I was dying constantly and had no idea where to go. I ended up quitting and writing the game off as bad like many other people have and still do. I didn't get back into the series until I tried Bloodborne years later and ended up loving it. Because of that, it prompted me to go back to previous FromSoftware titles and I absolutely loved them. The combat is just so satisfying, especially when you get past that area or boss that you've been stuck on or has been being a massive pain in your butt. Yakuza: I absolutely love the Yakuza series and have been slowly going through and platinuming them all since 2019. The scale of the world and just how much content they can shove into it is, in my opinion, unmatched. So much content packed in such a small map, and a lot of it being pretty enjoyable. The story is extremely serious and well written, while the sub-stories are extremely goofy and are a really good refresher from the main story. The gameplay is also extremely fun with just getting to absolutely destroy everyone who is a little too dense to realize they're messing with the strongest people in the area. Honorable Mention: Hitman. While it didn't crack my top 5, I'm a pretty big Hitman fan as well and have gotten all of the Hitman platinums that are available on PSN. I absolutely love the freedom you have to play and eliminate your targets, especially in the newer titles. The story for the Hitman games has never really been the strongest and is usually extremely basic, but the gameplay is just so much fun and with so much freedom of choice in the games, there is a lot of replayability to the games. What are your top 5 games and why? Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask: While picking my favorite game is extremely difficult, I would have to give the edge to Majora's Mask simply because I loved it as a kid, and I love it now. The setting, the mask mechanic, the darker tone of the game, just everything about the game is so good. It's an improvement from Ocarina of Time in every way possible. It's one of the few games I would do challenge runs on such as 3 heart runs, no deaths, and speedruns, all just for fun. I really wish they still made Legend of Zelda titles like it, but sadly they haven't made a Legend of Zelda title that has even come close since Twilight Princess Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep: Just about everything about this game is perfect. The story, the characters, the worlds you visit, the gameplay. Birth by Sleep changed up the Kingdom Hearts gameplay by making your magic/abilities be linked to a wheel which I thought flowed so much better than the numbered Kingdom Hearts games. The story and characters are also fantastic and I think that overall they're the main character trilogy with Aqua being just my favorite character in the series overall (only behind Axel). This would probably be my #1 favorite if not for 1 thing. Terra's goddamn gameplay. Terra's gameplay feels like nails on a chalkboard and drained a lot of fun out of the game, especially if you decide to play on a harder difficulty or go for 100% completion. Persona 4 Golden: Probably my favorite game from the Persona series as it had my favorite characters and the story was just an absolute banger. While the gameplay and soundtrack aren't nearly as good as Persona 5, the best parts of the games will always be the characters and story and for me, Persona 4 Golden has the better balance of characters and story. Not to mention, it was the one I had the most fun playing. After buying my Vita specifically to play this game, all my free time was spent in bed just playing it until I'd go to sleep. I'm looking forward to the PS4 version coming out (along with Persona 3 and Persona 5 Royal's PS5 version) to be able to play and platinum it again! Hack//G.U.: A more niche title here, but Hack//G.U. is such an amazing game. To this day, I personally think this game has some of the best world building ever. You really feel like you're just some dude playing an MMORPG and that the characters you just see wandering around and talking on the forums that have absolutely nothing to do with the story, feel like real people. The gameplay is extremely dated however, since the game did come out on the PS2. It can get boring and repetitive to play, but whenever that'd happen I'd visit the forums on the game and read about what some random dude who has nothing to do with the game's story talk about running dungeons, where to farm loot, sharing art, talking about stuff happening within the game, or just about their life. I highly recommend this game to absolutely anyone who's a fan of JRPGs. Especially since it goes on sale for extremely cheap very often. (Like $5-$10 USD for a 150-hour game cheap). The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion: I'll start off with the fact I'm VERY upset there isn't a trophy list for this game on PSN as I would have 100% it instantly. Oblivion is probably one of my favorite Western RPGs of all time. The goofiness of it and the sheer amount of fun you can have with this game is unmatched. I played it for hours on Xbox 360 back in the day but recently got into it again on PC and have been loving the absolute goofiness of it again. I mean, in what other game can I look as beautiful as this? Honorable Mention: Trails in the Sky: Second Chapter: While this game doesn't crack my top 5, I couldn't just NOT mention it. I just recently finished this game around 2 months ago on my journey to go through the series and all I can say is, play it. It's an absolute BANGER of a game and has such an amazing story with absolutely fantastic characters. The gameplay I'm not the biggest fan of (it's really really dated and kind of boring) but the story is just absolutely amazing and is probably one of the best games (story wise) I've played this year so far. Sadly, it only got an NA release on PC, so if you do decide to play it, you'll have to play it there. Which unreleased game(s) are you looking forward to the most and why? Callisto Protocol - I loved Dead Space and played them all on the 360 back in the day, so really hyped to see Glen Schofield dipping his toes back into the genre again. While I am a little iffy on it being under the studio for PUBG, I hold out hope for the big man himself that he'll deliver a banger game. Lies of P - I'm a massive souls-like fan, so when I saw a Bloodborne-esque one based on Pinocchio, there's no way I would let that pass up. Sadly the game still doesn't have an actual release date, but it does release in 2023 and that will be an instant buy from me Eternights - Just recently announced at one of the Sony State of Plays, the game looks super interesting. The creator behind the game said he was inspired after playing through Persona and wanted to make a game like it, and as a big Persona fan, I'm really looking forward to it. The trailer showed a lot of focus on romance however which I might not like when it releases if it turns out to be a massive part of the game, but I'll find out once it comes out. Persona 6 - While there's been no official announcement yet, it was confirmed a few years ago that Persona 6 was in development and I have been counting the days since. I really hope that whenever the game does come out, the soundtrack is closer to Persona 5's as I wasn't a fan of 3's soundtrack being heavily hip-hop focused & 4's being heavily pop-focused, though no matter what the soundtrack ends up being I'll be buying the game day 1. Do you have any other hobbies outside of gaming? Sadly, not really unless you count guide writing (which would still be gaming related). Most of my hobbies I have dropped over the years or haven't invested the time/money into them. Learning to play an instrument is a hobby I've been interested in picking up but I just haven't invested the money into it. My brother plays guitar and is extremely good at it and has tried to teach me when I was younger but I never had the patience for it. I've been interested in trying something like bass or drums, but just haven't done it yet. Top 5 TV shows, Movies, and/or anime, why, and would you recommend them to people? (Movie) American Psycho: I love this movie so much and it is an absolute cinematic masterpiece. Everything from the scenes, the lighting, the soundtrack used, the subtle dialogue shifts, everything. It's a movie I'd recommend to literally anyone who hasn't seen the movie before. If you need any convincing to watch this movie, check out the Morning Routine scene near the start of the movie which perfectly paints the picture of someone who is obsessive over himself. After that scene, you can check out the most popular scene of the movie, the Business Card scene which also just further drives home his materialistic nature. (Anime) ERASED: I cannot express how much I love this anime. It is by far my favorite anime of all time. It's a psychological drama where a guy goes back in time and tries to save someone from his school who ended up being kidnapped and later found dead. It's a super great anime that tugs at your heartstrings, especially if you knew someone in a similar situation growing up. There is nothing about the anime I can really say that wouldn't be a spoiler, so I'll drop the Trailer here for anyone to watch. (Anime) Assassination Classroom: Another banger anime that is both extremely goofy and extremely serious at the same time. Ever wanted to try and watch a bunch of kids try and assassinate their superhuman teacher, who is also teaching them how to do it? Then this anime is for you! It's a super enjoyable watch that can get you to laugh in 1 episode, and then tug at your heartstrings the next. Here is a Clip near the start of the anime which can kind of give you a feel for how it'd play out and I highly recommend watching it if you haven't as I'd say it's my personal favorite anime. (TV Show) The Blacklist: Really the only TV Show I watch anymore these days. It's a super great show about the FBI's most wanted turning himself in and helping the FBI catch some of the worst of the worst criminals, but only with the help of a certain FBI agent. If you've read my introduction, you'd know I used a scene from this show to illustrate why I think a good soundtrack can either make or break a scene, and this show really has plenty more examples of great scene writing as well. Though the show isn't as good as the earlier seasons anymore, it's still an amazing watch and you can watch the Trailer for the first episode if you're curious. (Anime) Parasyte: The Maxim: Another great anime about a guy who gets infected with a parasite in his hand which then becomes sentient and can control his hand whenever it wants. It has a lot of really cool action scenes and a really well-done story that I really enjoyed. This was the best Trailer I could find for the show which shows some clips from it meshed with some scenes from the opening and its opening theme song (which on a side note, is one of my favorite anime openings). Top 5 favorite music bands/group/artists/composers/OST? System of a Down: I grew up listening to SOAD and love just about every single song they've ever put out. I was upset when they broke up due to creative differences, but everything good has to come to an end at some point. The best album by them for me would easily be Toxicity with my favorite song from the album being Forest. SOAD is one of the more goofy metal bands out there, but they make music about really hard-hitting topics that are hidden by their goofiness. Slipknot: Another metal band I grew up listening to and still listen to currently. While Slipknot has had some hit-or-miss songs, I love a majority of them and Corey Taylor's voice is just absolutely amazing. My favorite album by them would probably be The Subliminal Verses with either The Blister Exists or The Nameless being my favorite song from the album. Fit for a King: A metal band I discovered more recently thanks to Spotify which was one of the few times they ever recommended something good. The instrumental and lyrics are just so great from them and I usually listen to them when I feel like getting more pumped up. My favorite overall album would probably be Creation|Destruction, but my favorite song would easily be More Than Nameless from the album Deathgrip. If you're a fan of metal music, I highly recommend checking them out. Mick Gordon: The brilliant mastermind behind the DOOM 2016 & Eternal soundtracks. Listening to his music while massacring demons was EASILY the best part of the game and without it, it wouldn't have been even half as good. the Rip & Tear track off DOOM 2016 just slaps so hard. Same with The Only Thing They Fear Is You from DOOM Eternal. The fact Bethesda fired this man because he wanted to share the banger soundtracks he made for the games like he did with the first one was an absolutely brain dead move on their part. Persona 5 Strikers OST: Easily my favorite Persona soundtrack, mostly because they went with a more rock/metal focus for the more face paced gameplay which was an absolute BRILLIANT move on their part as it produced some banger tracks. Especially the remastered tracks from Persona 5 being more rock/metal focused which make them slap even harder, like the Blooming Villain track for example which is my favorite track from the game. Hope they have tracks similar in Persona 6, but that's just wishful thinking. Your favorite platinum and why? God, it's so hard to choose a favorite as there are so many good ones that I'm either super proud of or just had the most fun platinuming. I'd say the platinum I'm most proud of would be SuperHot VR since I'm a bigger dude who doesn't get much physical activity outside of everyday living. The game requires A LOT of movement and skill to be able to execute some of the things you'll need to do for the platinum. By the time I finished the platinum I had actually lost a few pounds because of just how much I was moving around. The platinum is also pretty difficult because it requires a lot of muscle memory, memorizing the locations of all enemies/useful items, accuracy, and fast reaction time. The platinum isn't for the faint of heart I can say that at least. As for the one I had the most fun platinuming, I'd have to say it'd be The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, which is another VR title. This game is just the definition of fun and is also probably my favorite VR game in general. While going for the platinum I enjoyed just every second of it and it never really felt like I was tediously grinding for survivor spawns/specific loot because of just how much fun playing the game was. If you have a PSVR or even a PCVR, I highly recommend picking up this game if you haven't as it's just a super fun game all around. Your least favorite platinum and why? Easily the My Name is Mayo stacks and Mr. Massagy. They're the only 3 titles that are 80%+ platinum completion on my profile and they weren't fun games. I'm not a fan of those types of platinums, so I never buy them. The only one I've actually bought was My Name is Mayo since my brother bought Mr. Massagy. Playing them just wasn't fun in the slightest and I'd hardly call them a game honestly. If you want to platinum those types of games or buy those types of games, you can feel free, It's just not for me personally which is why I haven't done it since. Have you ever been tempted to switch over to the Xbox/Nintendo/PC gaming ecosystems? While Playstation is my main platform, I play a lot of PC as well and I do own a few Nintendo consoles as well. Owning those pretty much covers my gaming sphere as Xbox games these days come out on PC as well so the only ones I'm missing out on are the old school titles that never made it to PC like Fable 2 and 3 for example, which is very upsetting since I love Fable. Other than Playstation, PC is probably the one I play the most since it's where I play all my multiplayer games usually or just games that can only be played on PC. Most of my Nintendo consoles are just collecting dust as I don't really play them often since they're either games I've played several times already and the Switch doesn't have anything I'm interested in releasing. So overall, I don't think I'd ever swap off Playstation permanently. If you could have one game from any gaming generation be remade or re-released, which one would it be and why? Harvest Moon: Magical Melody. I'm a massive Harvest Moon fan (the old stuff, not the new garbage), so I would love to see Magical Melody released on PSN be it a port, remaster, or remake. The game is currently only playable on Gamecube so your only choice to play the game theses days it to own a Gamecube/Wii and the game itself, or just emulate it. We did get A Wonderful Life on PSN which came out around the same time so there is still a chance we might get it, but with Nintendo being.... Nintendo, I wouldn't hold my breath for it. How far are you willing to go for a platinum? I've went pretty far to get some platinums, like pushing my actual body for SuperHot VR and Creed: Rise to Glory, going through absolutely insane grinds like Yakuza 0, absolutely bullshit broken mechanics like in Yakuza 3, or even tolerating an absolutely terrible game like Alekhine's Gun. I would say I'd go pretty far for a platimum, but there have been some games that took it too far like Final Fantasy 9 with the 1000 jumprope or Far Cry 2 with just the insane multiplayer boosting that I couldn't care less to do. If you could give Sony direct feedback on business decisions in the last year, and the latest console generation, what would you tell them? Fix your dogshit web browser store. The old store front was so much better than the current one which still to this day, is missing features from the original store front such as seeing images/videos for games when you go to their store page. I much prefer looking through the sales on my browser but I have to end up having like 3 tabs open just to do it. 1 for the store, 1 for PSNProfiles to make sure there is no unobtainable/glitched trophies, and 1 to actually look game screenshots/videos of the game itself. What is your favorite thing about PSNP? The guides easily. The guides are some of the highest quality guides you can find online (usually). Overall the quality is just so much better than other sites and as a guide writer myself, I absolutely love writing guides for the site to help out fellow PSNProfile members or just a random person who decides to come and check out the guide to help them along with their platinum, What is your least favorite thing about PSNP? The leaderboards. I honestly couldn't care less about the leaderboards and it's honestly been a mess of late either way. Is there anyone in the PSNP Community you would like to give a shout-out to and if so, why? I'd like to shout-out the entire Guide Team here @Dreggit @Roronora_Zoro666 @Vanqishd @Charizarzar, as they have just been absolutely killing it. Super helpful with the guide writers, consistent publication, fast response times, and overall just chill to talk it over with being it guides or just something else entirely. Keep up the good work guys, you're doing an absolutely fantastic job! Community Questions What are some of your favorite video game soundtracks? Like mentioned above, I love the Persona 5 Strikers and DOOM 2016/Eternal soundtracks. I'm also a big fan of Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time's and Final Fantasy 7's soundtracks. Sometimes whenever I'm trophy hunting and I don't have to listen to the game, I'll put on some tracks from the games and just jam out to them. What are some of your favorite metal bands? Like mentioned above, I love the likes of System of a Down, Slipknot, and Fit for a King. Some other ones I really enjoy that I didn't mention is Disturbed, Nekrogoblikon, Tool, Korn, and Slayer. I'm actually listening to some System of a Down as I answer these questions! What is your opinion on this use of song in a movie? I think it's my favorite sequence and use of song ever. (just the part when Wick looks the dude in the eyes while he dies.) I love it. John Wick are really the only recent movies I've actually been a fan of watching. The scene is beautifully done and the music used in the scene is perfectly complementary since it's all calm and dream like, then the Baba Yaga appears and wakes up everyone. Looking forward to the 4th one! Nice to meet you, Schenectady KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND McMartigan. The AK has just one question for you... Damn, you got my middle name! Honestly though, I'm not a big fan of pie and the only type of pie I really eat is Lemon Meringue pie since that slaps. I just don't like the chunkiness of the filling in most pies. What is the most recent job you had? Did you like it? Absolutely not. I was a cashier at some snobby grocery store where I'd pretty much encounter entitled pricks several times of day that trying to talk with was like nails on the chalkboard since they'd either not say anything or start complaining about nothing, such as "I'm scanning your items too fast". The actual management there wasn't any better and would probably have resorted to slave labor to run the store if that was legal. I ended up getting fired from the job for reasons I can't legally disclose, but it has something to do with the fact I don't have to work for the next few years so I can take my time looking for a job I'll actually enjoy. Can you name any good game that was somehow ruined by a mediocre soundtrack? I can think of plenty honestly. While the games are still enjoyable to play, they could have been better with the right sound. Like the Assassin's Creed titles, Far Cry titles, Final Fantasy 7 Remake (the remade tracks were worse than the original), and I'd say Skryim. While Skyrim's opening theme is fire, the rest of the tracks just kinda blow. What is an otherwise great game that is ruined by its soundtrack? Resident Evil Director's Cut. It's terrible, hard to listen to, and doesn't fit. I think I would rather have played the game in silence than listen to that WAMP WAMP WAMP track ever again. When you are considering a good soundtrack in a game, do you like when songs use a meta instrumentation to fit the theming of the game or area? Consider this example where the main character, Robin, is a mechanic. The song heavily uses industrial sounds and mechanical elements on the title screen. While it isn't a requirement for making a good soundtrack for a game, it absolutely does add more personality to the tracks which I love. Tailored soundtracks for the character/scene/setting is always better than not doing it. Another example that is more tailored to the setting would be Life is Strange where the soundtrack is comprised of Indie Rock, which in that setting fits really well. While I personally hate Indie Rock with a passion, I cannot deny that it fits perfectly with that game. What is a sound element in a game that you don't like hearing? For example, some people do not like the usage of the Wilhelm scream. Others do not like random sharp noises that serve no purpose. I'll start off by saying I love hearing the Wilhelm scream in games because it always gives me a nice laugh. The main thing I don't like is hearing random loud or sharp noises like you've mentioned. Even when in context I still don't like hearing them simply due to the fact that extremely loud or sharp noises hurt my ears and causes my tinnitus to flare up which usually just ends up giving me a headache. While there are some times in games where those noises make sense to play, like a bunch of metal pipes dropping onto a metal floor will obviously make a very loud sharp noise so it would make sense to play in that situation, still makes me up set lol. If you could give a shout-out to any musical composer, who would it be and why? Mick Gordon easily. Like I mentioned above, I really enjoy the DOOM 2016/Eternal soundtracks and in my opinion, I don't think those games would have been even half as good without Mick Gordon composing the music for those games. Still think it was an absolutely brain dead move on Bethesda part for firing him, but Bethesda hasn't exactly been making the best decisions within the last few years, so it doesn't come as a surprise. He still makes music/sound design for other games, so lets hope one of them let him make some more bangers. What is your favorite example of a playable instrument in a game? While I haven't personally played the game, The Last of Us II's Acoustic Guitar that you can play looks surprising detailed, to the point where people have been able to make accurate cover songs on it. I've seen a few videos on it and I will say it was a very well done implementation and I hope more games in the future add more in-depth instruments like that which aren't just "Press the button that appears". How often do you like to play games outside your comfort zone? I do enjoy trying new games, but I don't really venture into specific genres usually. If it's a racing or sports game, chances are I won't play it since those are genres I just heavily dislike. 2D/platformers are another one I'm not a big fan of and that I usually avoid, but I don't completely write those games off like the previous 2 genres. Think of a game that you enjoy, but imagine that it never released. Now consider that it was remade under modern tropes, rules, and with modern technology as its first ever release. What would that game be and how do you think it would do in today's market? For example, if Resident Evil never released, and none of the games that came after it were released either, if the debut of Resident Evil was today, how do you think it would do? For Resident Evil, I still think it'd be just fine if the series never existed and released today under modern tropes simply due to the fact that even if Resident Evil didn't exist, people enjoy horror games, especially good ones. So if it released today, I still think people would buy it and enjoy it simply due to that. Though, the game would probably be in first person if it released today since most horror games these days are. As for one I can think of myself, Kingdom Hearts. If the series never existed and was released today with modern tropes, I actually don't think the game would have done well and Kingdom Hearts 3 kind of drives that point home with it not being all that good. I think the reason that game blew up so much was because it was released when both Disney and Final Fantasy were extremely popular and the studios weren't trying to commit financial suicide with all their bad decisions. So thankfully, that game released when it did. Are there any guides that you would like to commend? For more recently, I'd absolutely love to commend @angelbless45 for his absolutely amazing DreadOut 2 guide. The use of pictures, the formatting, it's all just sooo good. It's probably my favorite guide this year in terms of formatting as it's super well done and I'm totally not going to steal that idea in the future. angelbless45's guides though have always given me a lot of inspiration because of just how well done they are and was a big inspiration when creating my Fobia: St. Dinfa Hotel guide, though it doesn't hold a candle to his newest one. As for just sheer amount of detail, I would also like to commend you @Dreggit. The Final Fantasy 14 Triple Triad Compendium guide is absolutely fantastic and full of so much detail. I've even used the guide a bit on PC to collect some of the cards I was missing, though I didn't get very many before going back on a break from the game. The guide also holds the most pictures in a single guide, toppling my own guide. Wish you could have let me hold that crown for just a liiiittle longer lol. With the author community now having a community for themselves, how do you think that has changed the authorship process? Better or worse? Better. So much better. Ever since the new Guide Team and the Guide Writer's discord was created the guide quality has just jumped massively. The quick response time from Guide Team members in the discord while also being able to get assistance/feedback easily from other quality writers just helps with guide writing immensely and I've gotten plenty of feedback and ideas from some of the writers within the discord that have helped even my own guides be better than they would have been otherwise. If you ever met me in person, what would you say? (from Dreggit) Well, I'd say lets go hit up the local bar. From there, we can shoot the shit about gaming or anything else. What are your earliest memories from life? One of my earliest memories would probably be seeing my brother's friend running around outside my apartment building and watching him through the window when he tripped and absolutely shattered his knee. His knee was covered in blood with a hole in his leg afterwards as well. From what I can remember, he couldn't walk on that leg for a few weeks. Though I was super super young when I saw that, so it could have been just a little scrap and my kid brain thought it was way worse than it was and I just remembered it that way, who knows! Have you ever met someone famous? Not really. I have family members who are in the film industry and meet famous people quite frequently, but I never have personally. Ever just dropped the controller and just stood there when the music hit just right in a game? Usually during the credits of a game that was just absolutely fantastic. I did it with all the Persona games as well as Trails in the Sky: SC. There are just some times when you can't bring yourself to skip the credits and you just have to sit there and absorb it all while contemplating your life now that the game is finished. On a five-hour train ride, would you rather read a book or play games on a handheld? Handheld games probably. I haven't really read a book in a long time. While I've had the interest to go back and try reading again, every time I've tried I ended up not being able to commit to it. I have tried audiobooks, so maybe I'll give those a try at some point. Toads or frogs? Frogs. Frogs all the way. Impressive profile!! I noticed at a quick glance, it appears you have a vast majority of the Kingdom Hearts series finished... Do you plan to finish them off to attain Kingdom Hearts deity status??! Thank you! I take pride in my profile being (mostly) quality games. And yes, I 100% plan to do every single Kingdom Hearts platinum and I do own them all. The only thing stopping me is just how much I dislike the gameplay for Chain of Memories and am dreading doing it again. As well as some of the sections of Birth by Sleep being an absolute NIGHTMARE. Looking at you Terra. On a side note as well, still upset they added a single region stack for Kingdom Hearts 3 because I won't be doing that one so it won't look as clean once everything is done. What's the best Canadian TV show, and why is it Trailer Park Boys? You're correct, it is Trailer Park Boys. Nothing else even comes close. I love the Trailer Park Boys and used to watch it all the time, not so much anymore though. I do live relatively close to where the Trailer Park Boys was filmed though and I can confirm that the show is actually quite accurate to how people live in the region of Canada as I knew a lot of people like that and still do know people like that. Given that you're a FromSoftware fan, are you interested in their legacy titles? I have never played anything FromSoftware has released before Demon Souls, so I am interested in trying some of their legacy titles. If the new title coming out is actually a new Armored Core game, I'll be buying it to try it out for sure! Platinum you're interested in pursuing despite not feeling like you're capable of it? It's actually a game you're quite familiar with, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. I've always wanted to play the game and just recently bought it a few months back. I know the game is very highly skill dependent and that I haven't played many games like it, so I'm iffy on my ability to actually pull it off. What would your last meal be? Japanese A5 Wagyu Steak. If I'm going to die, I'm going out with one of the best tasting steaks on this earth and I will eat as much as I can before I end up exploding since I'm gonna die anyway. What's the best thing about living in Canada? The ability to get injured or just need a basic check up and then just go and get it checked out for free. Though as a counter balance, some of our taxes are ridiculously high, especially where I live since it's up there with the most taxed provinces. You mentioned The Blacklist - what were your thoughts on those animated episodes that happened because of the pandemic? I like that they didn't just drop the show and tried to give us something. Sadly, that something was pretty bad. The animations are awful and there are so many scenes that would have been much better if they weren't animated. Personally, I think I rather would have waited to be able to continue watching the show since those animated episodes weren't it. If they had hired a different animator or went with a different visual style instead of PS2 comic book style, it might have turned out better. What have been your best and/or worst boosting experiences? I have plenty of bad boosting experiences, so we'll start with 2 of those specifically since they're both pretty bad. I have several bad boosting sessions for Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood back in around 2017-2018 where absolutely no one would ever show up or only a few would show up, but not enough to actually start the sessions. This happened several times which prompted me to just give up on the game at the time. The next one was actually more recent with Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag on PS3 where I had created a sessions stating exactly what we were doing and when. One person joined and showed up and just when we were about to start, complained that we weren't going to boost EXP (which you can literally grind to level 55 solo very easily, so it wasn't a part of the session). He start complaining that all we were doing was the DLC trophies and that he wasn't going to get anything, which wasn't true since we were getting all the trophies from both the base game and DLC that required more than 1 person, all of which he didn't have. We tried to explain to him it was never mentioned or planned that we were going to boost EXP in which he just said some rude comments and then left the boosting group which left us 1 player down. Luckily someone else had just got on to replace him and the session went off without a hitch from there with everyone earning the trophies they needed. Moral of that story, always have back-up members. In terms of the best sessions, it was actually in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood as well. In 2021 there was a new session posted and I said "screw it" and joined it not expecting much to come out of it. However, the people I joined ended up being serious about wanting to grind the trophies out and were super chilling. We were just in voice call for hours joking around and just talking as we grinded out the trophies. We even went on to boost Revelations afterwards as well since it was just going so well. While we did have a few join and leave instantly after getting their trophies, the main group I boosted with stayed to the very end until we all had it. I still message some of them every now and again as well. What would be the best and worst video game worlds to live in? Well I can say the worst would probably be any of the Dark Souls worlds. Nothing ever goes right there and death is around every corner if not already directly on you. So I imagine it'd be quite a terrible world to live in. As for the best, there are actually plenty but really any calming farming sim game would be chill to live in since it's just a normal everyday world. I'd personally probably pick Rune Factory 4's world honestly since the people in the town are super chill and it'd just be a very enjoyable experience to live there. What's your all-time favourite movie score (if you haven't answered this already)? Tenacious D The Pick of Destiny would probably be my favorite. Especially since it's also my favorite musical in general. I still jam out to tracks from the movie to this day and absolutely love it. Highly recommend the movie in general as well if anyone hasn't seen it! ____________________________________________________________________ Thank you to all who participated in asking questions in this interview! YOU AND ME BOTH BROTHER!!! @ObsiEez. Good lord it feels nice to know someone else adores that game like I do. It's my favorite Gamecube game of All-Time and I always find myself reminiscing about it. It's like the "collect all 100 musical notes" aspect was a hidden calling towards my kid self of the future completionist/plat obsession I'd develop over a decade later. Lovely interview!

I still own the game on Gamecube so if I ever feel the itch to play it I can just dust off my Wii (if it even works still) and go back to play it. I 100% the game so many times over the years & loved it so much. While I wouldn't say it was my favorite Gamecube game, it is my favorite Harvest Moon game as there wasn't one quite like it. Glad you enjoyed the interview!
CptToffer
This was a great read. Love that there's some Zelda love on these forums. Link To The Past is probably my favourite but I've got a lot of time for Majoras Mask ?

Pretty much all Zelda titles are bangers with a few exceptions!
