Zanreo the Trophy Hunter (platinums and 100%)

22 posts in this topic

Hi! My name is Silke, but on the internet I go by Zanreo. I'm a Norwegian girl who likes games, and I'm currently studying game design. Aside from the games you see here, I'm also a huge Nintendo fan.

After getting a PS3 back in early 2014 I got introduced to the wonderful world of Trophies. As a collector/completionist, I've always liked these kinds of "achievement" lists, and now you got them on your online profile for bragging rights, with small pictures? Nice.

So, here I'll post my platinums and 100% platinumless games, and my thoughts about the games/trophies! (In most cases, DLC trophies doesn't count towards completion)

  • "Enjoyment" is general game enjoyment overall, mostly unrelated to getting/grinding trophies. (Otherwise several games would get dragged way down by a single annoying trophy or two...)
  • "Difficulty" is how hard getting all trophies were, mostly skill-wise. This will be harder than the actual/main gameplay for most of the games so assume the regular/overall gameplay difficulty is a bit lower (especially if there's one REALLY hard trophy)
  • "Grind" is how grindy getting all the trophies and working towards the platinum was.
  • "Best trophy" is the one I like the best, was most fun to get and/or I feel most proud of getting (might be explained further in the descriptions)
  • "Most annoying trophy" was the one that was least fun to get. Often time-consuming grindfests. Or local multiplayer.

#1: Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F

"Trophy Master"

Completed 15. February 2014

Difficulty: 6/10

Enjoyment: 8/10

Fun rhythm game! As a rhythm game addict and Vocaloid fan, I knew I had to get this.

The trophy itself was easy enough to get (and more trophies seemed to be "do all these things" rather than skill-based... then again there might not be that many skill-based things to do outside of the rhythm game), but it was annoying how to game doesn't even explain how to get the trophies - all the descriptions are just "You won X trophy" (So I added my own explanations underneath). Had to google it to find out what to do. Aside from some annoying grinding trophies (too many "buy all the things" trophies! At least I had fun trying to beat my own highscores and getting better ranks while grinding for points) I enjoyed this game. If you like rhythm games and/or Vocaloid, you'll probably enjoy this.

First Trophy: Welcome to DIVA! - Play the tutorial

Last Trophy: Module Collector - Buy all Modules

Best Trophy: Elite Player - Beat all games on Hard.

Hardest Trophy: Elite Player - Beat all games on Hard (Probably one of the few ones that are actually "hard" purely skill-wise...)

Most annoying trophy: Art Collection - See all the loading screen pictures (Luck-based one with 168 pictures I have to see?) To a lesser extent, Film Buff - View all music videos (I have to play ALL those videos in full?)

#2: Katamari Forever

"Platinum Katamari"

Completed 15. March 2014

Difficulty: 8/10

Enjoyment: 9/10

Katamari! Since I heard about it, I've wanted to try it out (it was actually one of my reasons for getting a PS2 and PS3) and after I fell in love with We Love Katamari on PS2, I knew I had to get this one too. I really liked it - although I had played a bunchof the levels before on PS2. It's really more of a compilation of previous levels, since most of them are from We Love Katamari and Beautiful Katamari, with a few from the original Katamari Damacy (kinda wish there were more from that game, since I've never played that one due to region lock...) and a few new ones. But since I've only played one of those games, most of it was still new to me! Just keep that in mind if you've played those other games a lot, I guess. For newcomers to the series, however, this would be a great place to start!

And the new jump move and power-ups? Love it. If you like weird and wacky sorts of games, you should check Katamari out if you haven't already.

First Trophy: First Katamari - Completed a Request.

Last Trophy: Multiplayer - Played through VS Battle or Co-op 30 times.

Best Trophy: Enormous Katamari - You made a katamari over 2,000,000km! (AWW YEAH)

Hardest Trophy: Completist - Completed 100% of the Collection. (DAMN YOU COWBEAR)

Most annoying trophy:Multiplayer - Played through VS Battle or Co-op 30 times. (Local multiplayer trophies when there's no one around that also plays the game? Not fun)

#3: Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc
"Despair's Last Reward"

Completed 17. July 2014

Difficulty: 3/10

Enjoyment: 8/10

I've been wanting to play this game for a long time, and it's one of my reasons for getting a Vita. And it didn't disappoint, I loved this game. Only annoying thing was a few grind-y trophies, otherwise a fun trophy hunt.
First Trophy: From Zero to Hero - Finished the Prologue
Last Trophy: Seriously, You Shouldn't Have - Collected every possible present
Best Trophy: Mr. Know-It-All - Filled in every page of every character's Report Card (Was fun to gradually learn about the characters when getting this)
Hardest Trophy: You Must Acquit - Cleared every class trial without taking any damage (First off, the description is slightly wrong since it's actually not EVERY trial, it's just one. But this was pretty hard - mostly because I decided to do this on the last one... Was at the end of the game and didn't feel like replaying anything)
Most annoying trophy: Seriously, You Shouldn't Have - Collected every possible present (Grind-based trophy where I have to buy stuff with coins that can only be earned by replaying parts of the game... also have to use a lot of them if I want a chance of getting anything new. This also requires going through School Mode many times and that gets boring after a few tries)

#4: Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair

"Hope's Last Reward"

Completed: 1st October 2014

Difficulty: 4/10

Enjoyment: 9/10

Danganronpa's sequel, and even better than the first one! Though I'll definitely recommend playing the first one first, because there's a bunch of spoilery stuff for the first game here :3

First Trophy: Murderous Marooning - Finished the prologue

Last Trophy: Life's a Real Beach - Saw every possible Island Mode ending
Best Trophy: Mr. Congeniality - Filled in every page of every character's Report Card (Same as above)

Hardest Trophy: Monomi Won't Miss these, Right? (Not much was really "hard" in this game, but this one took a bit of grinding. Luckily, this time I did the "clear trial without taking damage" on the first one)

Most annoying trophy: For the Hoard - Collected every possible present. (Same as above...)

1L1d0b21.png
#5: Hatsune Miku Project Diva F2

"Trophy Master"

Completed: 19th January 2015

Difficulty: 7/10

Enjoyment: 9/10

Grind: 3/6

More Vocaloid rhythm game fun? Yes please!

And once again, the non-descriptive trophy lists return... Most annoying thing about getting trophies here.

First Trophy: Welcome to DIVA! - Play the tutorial

Last Trophy: Accessorizer - Buy all accessories (Required a bit of grinding + clearing hard levels to unlock all items)
Best Trophy: Advanced Player - clear all songs on Hard

Hardest Trophy: Accessorizer and Advanced Player

Most annoying trophy: Grand Gallery - See all loading screen images, and Cinema Snob - Watch all music videos (yeah, same ones as for Diva F)

1Lfd2b3f.png
#6 Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 1
"Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 1 Master"

Completed: 5th August 2015

Difficulty: 6/10

Enjoyment: 7/10

Grind: 4/6

So Neptunia is a series I had been curious about for a while considering I love all things personifications and moe anthropomorphism - especially game related ones. So I got this from a PSN sale and yeah, ended up liking it! Fun references and cute characters :3

Best Trophy: True Ending - Watch the True Ending

Hardest Trophy: True Ending - Watch the True Ending

Most annoying trophy: Millionaire - Obtained 100 million credits (HUGE grindfest... and would be even worse without the DLC that lets you level up to 999. This is probably one of the most painful grind trophies I've had to sit through at the time of writing)

1L39f9d4.png

#7 Persona 4: Dancing All Night

"Dancing All Night"

Completed: 26th April 2016

Well, it's a rhythm game so of course I'd try this out x3 Not the best rhythm game I've played, but it's ok.

Difficulty: 5/10

Enjoyment: 6/10

1Lbd3d1f.png
#8 Hyperdevotion Noire: Goddess Black Heart
"Hyperdevotion Noire: Goddess Black Heart"

Competed: 1st June 2016

Difficulty: 6/10

Enjoyment: 7/10
Grind: 5/6

This spinoff looked like fun and I wanted to see what the Neptunia universe's game franchises looked like x3 Not as great as the main series but still an amusing game with fun characters x3

Best Trophy: True Ending

Hardest Trophy: Level-up Orchestra - Leveled all characters to 99. (Yeah, this took a while)

Most annoying trophy: ...all the Lily Rank trophies, so much grind... but especially Lid and Wyn because they don't have any non-damage attacks, so lily ranking them with each other took forever.

#9 Superdimension Neptune VS Sega Hard Girls
"Superdimension Neptune VS Sega Hard Girls"

Completed: 6th January 2016

Difficulty: 6/10

Enjoyment: 8/10

The first time I heard about a game featuring Sega Hard Girls I knew I had to get this x3

Also, I like the detail how Dreamcast is blue in this version to match the European blue DC logo haha x3

Best Trophy: Delphinus - You beat Delphinus (Mostly because how ridiculously easy I got this with the extremely OP "Dreamblade Charge" trick)

Hardest Trophy: Master Catcher - You caught all the balls. (Mostly because, well, NO IN-GAME TRACKING... this was the one I struggled the most with)

Most annoying trophy: Master Catcher - You caught all the balls. (Collectibles with no proper in-game tracking is a game design sin)

1L627b3a.png
#10: Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection
"Platinuminary"

Completed: 19th January 2017

Difficulty: 6/10

Enjoyment: 5/10

Honestly, kind of a mixed bag considering I enjoyed some games way more than others (main reason I put this away for years and got back to it later) Some games were great while others were a chore to get through... Really glad this has in-game save scumming x3 But overall, it's a decent collection of various Mega Drive/Genesis games.

Best Trophy:

Hardest Trophy:

Most annoying trophy:

1L79e920.png
#11: Steins;Gate
"Sky Clad Observer"

Completed: 24th January 2017

Difficulty: 2/10

Enjoyment: 8/10

An interesting story about... time travel shenanigans (or rather, sending messages to the past) gone wrong. Really enjoyed this and definitely getting the sequel at some point later :D

Best Trophy:

Hardest Trophy:

Most annoying trophy: Hero of RaiNet - [Phone Trigger] Received all 13 RaiNet episode summaries.

1Lf4cd41.png
#12: Day of the Tentacle Remastered
"OCD"

Completed: 2th February 2017

Difficulty: 2/10

Enjoyment: 6/10

Got this from PS+. Point-and-click adventures aren't the genre I play the most but I decided to try this out... I kinda liked it, had some fun moments (and some easy trophies x3)

Best Trophy:

Hardest Trophy:

Most annoying trophy:

1L6b0b82.png

#13: IA/VT Colorful

"プラチナトロフィー"
Completed: 13th March 2017

Difficulty: 7/10

Enjoyment: 8/10

Grind: 3/6

Been wanting to try this for a while! And it didn't disappoint - good rhythm gameplay and some great music. As far as Vocaloid rhythm games go I kinda prefer Project Diva but this isn't bad either!

The "story mode" of this game is Step Up Play, which has you play a song (or sometimes more, in a row) where you have to meet certain conditions - get a certain rank, get X combo, get at least X Cool hits ect...

(Also, I could have gotten this much earlier... but I wanted to save this for my 1000th trophy)

Best Trophy: パーフェクトマスター - Get a Perfect on 100 songs.

Hardest Trophy: コスチュームコンプリート - Unlock all of IA's costumes. (What makes this hard is having to clear up to level 16 of Step Up Play, and some of those challenges are... pretty brutal.)

Most annoying trophy: マイフェイバリット - Play the same song 20 times. (Grind...)

1Le80804.png

#14: Severed

"Made Whole"

 Completed: 18th March 2017

Difficulty: 6/10

Enjoyment: 8/10

Grind: 2/6

One of the free PS+ games for March, I had been wanting to try this out for some time earlier but getting it for free? Even better x3

I really liked this game, fun touch-based gameplay and a cool artstyle. In fights, several enemies attack you at a time and you have to keep an eye on the other enemies (attacks are indicated by a yellow circle around them building up) to avoid getting hit by them while you're attacking another enemy (though you always meet new enemies as just one the first time so you can get used to its attacks) Especially later in the game you have to really think fast and be sure to get the right moment to attack/block other enemies.

Best Trophy:
Hardest Trophy: Father Remembrance (The battle you need to get past for this is... pretty hard. I struggled more with this than the final boss haha)

Most annoying trophy:

1L02f949.png

#15: Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;birth 3
"Super-dupermension Neptunia Master"

Completed: 4. April 2017

Difficulty: 4/10

Enjoyment: 8/10

Grind: 4/6

Wanted to play the other Neptunia Rebirth games, so I got this :3 Overall another fun game :D Lots of references to events in game history which is always enjoyable

1L0b41ed.png

#16: Taiko no Tatsujin V Version

"太鼓の達人 Vバージョンマスター"

Completed: 24. March 2017

Difficulty: 7/10

Enjoyment: 8/10

Grind: 2/6

I love rhythm games, and love the Taiko no Tatsujin series, so I had to get this :D

I originally got it almost 2 years ago, but struggled the most with the "beat 25 songs on Oni difficulty"... tried it now and then again after that with not much luck. But recently, I picked it back up again... and managed to clear several of those songs, so I decided to go for it and really practise... and after all this time, the trophy was finally mine :D

1L078d00.png

#17: Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2

"Gamindustri's Ultimate Savior"

Difficulty: 5/10

Enjoyment: 8/10

Grind: 5/6

And with that I'm done with all of the Neptunia Rebirth games :3 Game parodies were fun as always, but this one also had some pretty grindy trophies, even more than other Neptunia games... the classic "100 million credits" was still there, but there was also the "Stella's Dungeon" minigame which is purely RNG-based and takes 13+ hours to finish the final dungeon. The crafting system to make these extra dungeons was also not the best especially when it forced me to do more playthroughs than necessary...

Though otherwise, I enjoyed it :D

1L1ae359.png

#18: LittleBigPlanet Vita

"Platinum Club"

Difficulty: 7/10

Enjoyment: 7/10

Grind: 6/6

Picked this up at a clearance sale a while back (as I soon found out, I was lucky to get an unused copy so I could still use the online pass) but didn't actually start it until some months ago.

Decent platformer with a fun aesthetic, though I could use less multiplayer trophies (including multiplayer collectibles... why)

Some of the arcade games were also a pain to clear... so this was probably one of my most annoying platinums to work towards.

#4: Octodad: Dadliest Catch
L8d8bff.png

Difficulty: 6/10

Enjoyment: 8/10

Been wanting to play Octodad for a while now, and after getting a PS4 I knew I had to buy this :D Fun and ridiculous game, but a bit short. Controls take a while to get used to but it feels great when you finally learn how to x3 (Also I wish there was a trophy for collecting all the ties, haha)

#5: Welcome Park
L376d25.png

Difficulty: 3/10

Enjoyment: 2/10

Well, it's Welcome Park... not much else to say x3

Thanks, it was a rather easy one too. Took a while though, had to grind for hours and hours for some of those "buy everything" trophies... oh well, on to the next one!

Nice checklist, will be interesting to see it grow. :)

I've been thinking of doing one of these myself, but haven't gotten round to it yet...

Thanks, everyone!

Anyway, I'm currently home for winter break and don't have my PS3 available here, so my trophy hunting will pretty much be put on hiatus until the 3rd of March (maybe not the best time to start the thread?)

So yeah, haven't updated this in FOREVER, but now that I'm active again it's time to bump this up!

(Will be filling in the rest of the info for games later, here are the plats for now at least)

I see now I've gotten way less plats than expected since last time... been playing a lot of other consoles x3

Also, added a "100%" category for finished games without platinums, and "enjoyment" and "difficulty" listings under titles.
New additions also won't have first and last trophy earned, since they now seem kinda pointless for the most part.

This year I'm especially planning to go back and finish some of my unfinished games I haven't played in years - in most cases, I intended to finish them, but then I got caught up in lots of other games first...
