Trophy thoughts?

Bit of a step down in terms of trophy difficulty compared to the other 5 games on premium even SF1 as it seems you just have to beat the game. It's just odd that it got easier.

Very disappointing list. You just have to beat the game to get the plat (time to beat is about 10-12 Hrs.). From my personal experience, I'll give plat difficulty 2/10.

1/10 difficulty without a doubt. You just beat it and you can probably play with cheats like #1

Sadly no unlock all extras n secrets trophies 

 

no complete hard mode 

 

no unlock all extra scenes , the disco one is totally worth it 

 

no pass the mountain pass outside section with chance stealthy

Now i'm expecting that Syphon Filter 3 (the legendary one) has trophies too. For the rest, i don't give a shit that is an easy plat.

Not got a problem with the complete the game style plat, nice to have a few more trophies than the first one. I suppose a little more thought could have gone into the list but still. Wonder if there will be a double plat as in ps4 version cross buy like the first one too?

Im just happy they have trophies. People should be happy with that. Not like any other devs are adding them but Sony Bend, so stop whining and appreciate the extra effort there putting in.

Agree with you tbh, its a 2000 game so nowhere near as in depth as games today, i cant visualise what other types of trophies they could have added to the first one for instance. Hopefully syphon 3 and the psp games soon!

Can't really commend them when the 'effort' that gets put in is this. Everyone's expectations really have lowered in the last few years. Sony not mandating trophies for all PS1/PS2/PSP Classics released for PS Plus premium/deluxe tier subscribers is a mistake.

 

Good on Bend Studio at least for giving two shits… But the road to the Syphon Filter 2 platinum trophy itself? Well, that's another story.

I guess I don't mind, I'll enjoy the game without worrying about doing anything extra. Trophies should be awarded for your... *ehm* achievements, such as completing missions and the whole game, completing all side objectives, completing game on hard etc., something that comes as natural progress, not  some random hoop jumping such as escaping the base without killing any guard from SF1, that one was completely artificial challenge and a huge stain on my overall enjoyment because the game obviously wanted you to kill them. That's just my 2 cents.

EDIT: trophies like "get 20 headshots with Silenced 9mm" are fine and devs should put some of those in game, to spice things up. I'm just not fan of these "finish the entire level with jumping only while shooting exactly 76 bullets and 1 grenade and make sure you hit all 6 hidden easter bunnies scattered around" dumb scenarios. I just want to enjoy the game and get some accolades for my effort.

I would like to play Toy Story 1 and 2, Resident Evil and some other games in the Classic program that don't have trophies. Unfortunately, since I don't play anything without trophies, I can't. I wish more classics had trophy lists.

 

The trophy list is good, I want to beat the game once but not spend 50 hours on such an old game to get the platinum.

Best comment on the thread so far, we should be grateful it even has trophies. Taking a look at what else is on offer on the new ps+ tier system its like most of the other developers cant even be bothered to give the games trophies

Exactly.  So many people crying that "it's too easy, waaahhh", but if the devs had added in challenging trophies, or disabled the use of cheats, then they'd be crying "it's too hard, waaahhh".

 

On the one hand, the list does look a tad bland compared to the lists that we're used to these days, but on the other hand, you can just play the game to completion without worrying about arbitrary tasks, like we used to do pre-PS3.

 

There's just no pleasing some people.

I'll tell you one thing, I'm a guy who apparently is a trophy hunter and I'm just super jazzed that a game has trophies at all and proceeds to get on my high horse and tell people who wish that the list wasn't the kind of joke that so many lists have become lately that they're just whiners and should be grateful there are trophies at all even though they should not have to be grateful for that since Sony should have mandated it to these devs in the first place. I have a lot of respect for the hobby to feel these ways and say these things!

Perfectly said. Bend are toiling away at a new IP so it’s pretty great they even bothered to take the time to program in trophies at all. Sure, more variety would be nice but seeing as most of these older games seemingly will not be getting trophy support at all, I think it is very cool to be able to play through these old games and have something to show for it.

Yeah theyre a developer we can have great respect for, bring on all the other syphon filter games with trophies too!
