999 quality items

I'm posting this here because this is a trophy requirement in Atelier Ryza 2 and I'm considering playing it now, but the following applies to all the Atelier games in my experience. Is there any way to learn how to craft 999 quality items without spending hours reading really confusing gamefaqs posts? I've finished Atelier Ryza 1 and Atelier Shallie but I'm totally lost when it comes to creating high quality items. I guess I'm just a moron when it comes to this franchise, so if there's any simple path to crafting high quality items, that would be greatly appreciated.

maybe a little late but you must have quality and quality on an iteam. you double it or you need more. then you need 2 materials that can always unite with each other. this increases the level and it is important that you have quality and quality+ in the bonus below. after 5 repetitions you should get 999.
