RadiantFlamberge
Creating a new hybrid system incompatible with PS5 games sounds like a bad idea. I can't see Sony doing it. A portable PS5? Maybe with a considerably lower powered version of the PS5 chipset, digital only of course, and limited to 1280 x 720. Then developers would have to add a downgraded mode to their games that kicks in when played on the PS5P, just as you need to dial a PC game's settings down to use it on Steam Deck. Price would be another consideration. A portable console with a $500+ price tag will be a harder sell. To cut costs, Sony would likely have to drop the SSD size to 512 GB. They'd have to do this at launch, can't see every single dev downgrading their game for weaker hardware. Same thing for when ppl were wondering if a PS5 "Series S" would ever come. It's just unlikely lol
