Best Ps3/PS4 Headset?

I am thinking of getting a new headset for my ps3/ps4 (currently only have a crappy blue tooth) and was wondering what the best model is? I am looking into the PS Gold or the Pulse which both look like they have good sound/mic. Any suggestions or opinions on them?

Astro Gaming A50 or A40 - if you have the money they are awesomesauce.

If you're on a tighter budget the Pulse headset will do the job, though I personally find them thoroughly uncomfortable, causing headaches within minutes.

Turtle Beach is also on the cheaper end of the scale (so don't have high expectations in terms of longevity), with Tritton sitting between them and the Astros.

I have a pair of Astro A50's, Tritton AX720's and the first full headset that Sony came out with. The Astros are a head and shoulder above the other two when it comes to sound quality. The Astros and the Trittons are very close when it comes to comfort. You can wear them for hours on end without feeling uncomfortable. The Sony's were easy to hook up right out of the box. Just plug in the dongle and go. They have good sound quality, but the mic communication can leave you wanting at times and they can get a little uncomfortable after a couple hours. I've had the Trittons for close to four years with moderate to heavy use and their only drawback to me is that they're wired. The prices range from $100 for Sony's to $300 for the Astros with the Trittons falling slight above the Sony's at $150. All three are of good quality and will last quite a while if taken care of.

I recommend the Astros if you have the money and Trittons if you don't want to spend that much. Sony's are ok. They're just not on the same level as the other two. I've never had any of the Turtle Beach headsets. Too many user reviews in Amazon saying that the headband broke after a couple months and that there was some kind of buzzing background noise. You can try them if you're on a really tight budget.

I have the turtle beach px21 with the earforce dss adapter. The sound is actually really good with the adapter and its a pretty comfortable headset. I also like that with the px21 I can move between any console and its worked great including ps4. I havent broken anything on it, and it all works as it should for years.

Another vote for Astro A50's or A40's here.

Also, take a look at some of these threads. Keep in mind though that with the latest PlayStation 4 update (or maybe even before) the Astro's are 100% compatible, I haven't gone back and edited some of my posts in these following threads.
