dzstrpc
Had to swap a bad HDD in my PS3. Afterwards I just can't get the firmware to install. Tried downloading both firmware versions from three different regions and with three different browsers. It just says ''No applicable update data was found.'' Any suggestions? Does anyone know where I can download a working firmware file? Edited October 1, 2022 by dzstrpc
DarthRevan182
I had the exact same issue. The cause for me was the memory stick I was using. Do you have any others? Mine read fine and was formatted correctly but wouldnt work for the update file.
mertoz58
You can download the latest firmware from here. Make sure to format your USB stick to FAT32 format. Create a folder called PS3. Create another folder called UPDATE under the PS3 folder and put the update file in this folder and try again. If it still doesnt work you should try with another USB stick like DarthRevan182 suggested.
dzstrpc
Thanks for helping. Using another USB stick helped.
NewDust
It seems their site has updated since the last time I visited, but previously there were two download files. One dominantly displayed, but was only useable to update firmware on a console with firmware already installed. Then another one, that was the actual full firmware, needed when changing a HDD. Edit: seems another USB did the trick. Edited October 1, 2022 by NewDust
dzstrpc
I used the file at the top of the page. The one at the bottom which I was supposed to use was corrupted.
