PS3 Games to pick up that still have an obtainable plat?

Recently picked up a ps3 for super cheap and was wondering what games you would recommend I get? I'd prefer that the platinum is still obtainable but any recommendations are appreciated

Catherine and the Borderlands games are worth playing, though if you have a PS4 I'd recommend those versions instead. In terms of PS3 only games, Fallout 3 is a personal favourite but you have to be tolerant of its many technical issues.

Picked up a few games already, just wating on a DualShock 3 controller to come in. I picked up Fallout 3 & New Vegas (bigggg fallout fan), the force unleashed games (which I haven't played since I was a kid) and a few others. If there's a ps4/ps5 version of the game I'm definitely going for that over the ps3 lol, unless I love the game so much and I want to plat it again.

The Ratchet and Clank Future games are great, as is

inFamous 1 & 2 (2 in particular)

The Darkness games,

Singularity (though both those are unobtainable plats, I think)

Good luck finding a copy. It's gotten a lot tougher to locate at a reasonable price over the last few years.

I forgot about Enslaved! Also, correct me if I'm wrong, isn't inFamous 2 a pain in the arse/impossible due to online servers? Or am I wrong about that.

For Plat you can buy it physically.

but if you want 100% you need to buy the full game in the UK PSN store.

Sorry, it’s been a long time since I got that one, I had forgotten it had the UGC stuff, so possibly worth checking on that one!

Yeah, I picked up the first game for super cheap but didn't bother with the second one because I heard about that UGC stuff.

Those are all pricey games now but good games and the platinums are still obtainable. And then there's the obvious ones like:

 

God of War saga + Ascension

Infamous 1 & 2

Sly Cooper trilogy + Thieves in Time

All the Ratchet & Clanks (even the ones that don't have trophies are worth playing anyway)

Infamous 2 & Festival of blood in particular because they have very simple online trophies but I’d definitely recommend the first game for its unique and Phenomenal story which ties into the second. (First game does not have any online trophies)

(yes the DLC doesn’t have a plat but it’s less than 5 hours and it’s one of the best to ever be released on the platform)

Resistance 3 is technically doable if you can manage to get a second controller as it has two co-op trophies and although the servers were shut down in 2014, the game does have offline co-op.

Just be aware that the PS3 version has God awful input lag. If you're sensitive to it like me then it makes the game unplayable. Awesome game just not on ps3

Alice: Madness Returns is a really fun game, but it does drag on a bit sometimes. It does have DLC trophies in the form of the original PC release of American McGee's Alice as DLC, which can be extremely rough, but it is still worth trying, and all you have to do is beat it if you care about 100% and not just the Plat.

 

The inFamous, Sly, God of War, and Ratchet games people have already recommended are absolutely great choices as well. You'll get roughly 20 Plats out of those series alone, none of which are not too difficult, barring some stuff in the GoW games.

 

I also can't help but to recommend at least a couple Sonic games whenever I get the chance to. More specifically, Sonic Generations. Mostly easy plat if you like Sonic games to some degree, has both the modern day gameplay and Classic's mixed together. Some leaderboards trophies are glitchy but aren't too bad and still doable. Sonic Unleashed is similar to Generations but requires a LOT more effort and tedium that it makes me hard to reccomend it unless you REALLY like Sonic games.

If you can, you may wanna try to get some PS Move games, there's no real chance of them getting ported, and some are quite good, there's: Sorcery, Medieval Moves, Child of Eden, Sport Champions and the Wonderbook Games.

Original Mirrors Edge, Red Dead Redemption 1 ( has a bunch of online trophies, but seems to be active enough to not worry about shutdown.) 
Theres a bunch of franchises that have older games only on PS3 that were never remastered: all Dead Space games, Batman Arkham Origins,  God of War 1,2 ,Ascension, Ghost of Sparta and Chains of Olympus .Infamous 1,2 and Festival Of Blood, Gta IV, Fallout 3 and New Vegas, Ratchet & Clank games ,Star Wars the Force Unleashed 1and 2,
Metal Gear series.
