I thought I'd share a new way to officially add a mask to your EA account and receive the trophy before the servers shut down in a few days! Visit the site trophyhunters.net and follow the instructions, it's that simple. It requires setting up a local DNS server just like the Gonespy project, which means its completely legit according to the rules of PSNP! It takes less than 15 minutes to set up, and you'll be able to avoid the unobtainable or start the boost just in time to finish. Here's how to do it: Ok, since I am already receiving a lot of questions in regards how to do it, I will allow myself to post "pseudo-guide" (some lines copied from @Executioner0 website - asking for permission here :/). It is really for dummies and I have no clue if you will get some other errors, issues, etc. Do not ask :] Windows mode of course: Follow this link and proceed as mentioned in 1st posthttp://trophyhunters.net/ Create new shortcut on desktop. Type: cmd (enter, enter). Right-click on newly created shortcut -> Properties - > Advanced -> Check: Run as administrator. Download https://maradns.samiam.org/download/3.5/3.5.0023/maradns-3-5-0023-win32.zip and unzip it -> c:\maradns-3-5-0023-win32 Modify the dwood3rc.txt, changing the bind address to your PC's LAN IP (192.168.1.5 in the example): bind_address="192.168.1.5" Also change recursive_acl = "192.168.1.1/16" (first three numbers have to be same as in your IP address) Add an ip4 entry pointing the desired server (easo.ea.com in the example) to this server 110.232.114.67 in the ip4 section at the end of the file: ip4["easo.ea.com."] = "110.232.114.67" Run CMD from your desktop. If you are familiar with DOS commands, you know what to do: cd / cd maradns-3-5-0023-win32 install You shall get that info at the end: The Deadwood DNS cache http://maradns.org/deadwood service was started successfully. Start your PS3 and configure your network (custom) typing as DNS your PC's IP address - (192.168.1.5 in the example). Test Inet connection. If works -> good luck. Phoenixgaming1 Posted October 18, 2022 Share Posted October 18, 2022 I hope this becomes an allowed method, I'd love to have this game completed on my profile, unfortunately, I played it and earned I think one trophy back before I cared to earn them and about completion, so it stuck on my profile. If this is allowed then my next hope is that someone finds a way to bring the PS Home Servers back and also Crysis 2, kinda like how they did with demon's souls, I don't think it'll be possible for Black Ops 2 to ever become obtainable again Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I have the game done for years so i won't use it but its really cool that someone made it for a community (although a bit late). I want to try this on alt, but again I have problems with starting and cofiguring this MaraDNS, like when I was fighting with it for GoneSpy and Unreal. I get the whole rule list regarding these thing, but say this is the last MP someone needs, what reason they have to be against it? Apart from unlocking the mask there won’t be any manipulation to get the rest of the trophies. Personally I’ve done both the JP and international version apart from the mask trophy and it seems kinda silly that I won’t have the plat due to a trophy requiring zero skill and only being in the right time in the right place when the site was still up. These are the instructions. It's a custom private server on another address, as far as I remember Demon's Souls custom servers work similarly, just adding a different DNS, even PSONE works this way for Warhawk. They are private servers and non open-source, CRT will definitely not approve this. CORRECTION: There's a custom server emulator available on Github for Demon's Souls. Edit: also a bit fishy that you state this as a legit official method... But you yourself have yet to use this method to unlock the trophy. Popular Post Smashero Posted October 18, 2022 Popular Post Share Posted October 18, 2022 (edited) Having in mind that ANYWAY servers will go down in two days and later it will be totally impossible to get this trophy (it requires online connection to server, you actually have to join the game) huge request to whole CRT team: this one doesn't require skill, boosting, 1000h of grinding - it is just a simply receiving some crappy item from outside the game. Since we, as Players, are not modding the consoles, not downloading the saves, not connecting some XBoxes or other consoles, could you just allowed this one? It is really a last call to "legitimately" got this one. If the servers will go down after 20th of Oct as scheduled, it is clear that this one won't be EVER possible to achieve. For many this one bloody stupid trophy is a platinum blocker... If EA didn't want to listen to hundreds of petitions and posts on theirs forums - You have the opportunity to show us that you do care about this community. Ok, that was maybe too much ;), but that would be such an unexpected gift!
