PS4 Games That Are Never On Sale?

111 posts in this topic

As per the title of this topic. And apologies in advance if there is already one on the subject.

But does anyone know why certain PS4 digital games are NEVER on sale? I mean... never!

Examples - Flynn & Freckles (NA & EU), Shift Quantum (NA & EU). These are just 2 games I have watched for about 2 years.

And they have, to the best of my knowledge, never been reduced in price. Is this the developers idea, or Sony's? Just curious.

Plus, both titles are PSN only. No retail discs available either

Also - can anyone think of any others?

Thanks for any input

I am sure there are quite a few, especially those games that aren’t really supported by the devs/publishers on just in the store mostly forgotten.   I bet a lot of the cheap shovelware games have never gone on sale to your question.

Here are two sites that have the history.  I’ve found mistakes in the past but they are largely very accurate.

https://platprices.com/

You can just whishlist it in that case and you'll get a notification when it goes on sale automatically

That probably has at least something to do with it. Elliot Quest has never been on sale on the PSN, but the Switch version was on sale for 9 cents, despite being released after the PlayStation version. So I find it difficult to believe the developer doesn't want the game to go on sale.

I've always been skeptical of that whole you can't discount games on PSN without being invited thing. Are we honestly supposed to believe that the likes of Random Spin and Gilson Pontes get regularly invited to participate in sales but legitimate indie devs don't?

Calvino Noire has remained the same price for about 6 years and Beat Saber has never had a price drop

Divinity Original Sin

It got delisted on 2019, returned to store a year later and since it never dropped price. Unlike its sequel which drop price every 2 months

DJMax Respect never goes on sale, but the game and its DLC have gone on sale on Steam more than once. I love rhythm games, but not sure how I feel spending 50$, plus 20$ for a single pack to get closer to 100% completion (and numerous ones at that, no less). Buying everything full price would be insanely expensive, I may as well just skip over it or buy other stuff to play.

I agree, I also find it difficult to believe they are inviting those developers to participate in sales. But then again, I'm not sure why Gilson B Pontes games are on the store to begin with, especially considering they don't seem to be on any other platform. I wish there were clear answers, but most of the time what we read doesn't really add up, so all we can do is speculate.

I've had the Immortal Redneck wishlisted for probably two or three years now. Never seen a single sale. Might finally get to biting the bullet on it soon.

The Turrican anthology vol 1 and 2 hasn't gone on sale at least once since they came out. They're expensive being 35 dollars each in total being 70 dollars which is insane they they never went on sale but flashback collection did.

Back when the Vita was still a thing, I hoped to find Angry Birds Trilogy on a sale, but it never was.

Some of the DLCs/Season Passes. It reached the point it's cheaper to buy the Complete/Goty edition even if you already have the base game. One of the reasons I stopped buying new games and wait for Complete/Goty editions.

Been waiting forever for CQ2. Played the PS3 versions, and would love to complete the series.

Cyberpunk is on sale right now, 65% off. This is the best discount it’s ever had. Platprices is better for tracking than psprices
