Barry_Allen97
Hi I intend to buy a console ps life at Christmas but I would like to understand how memory works, is already integrated one from a total of gb or do I have to buy it separately and is expandable? Thank you in advance
Zid960
Depends on what you're doing. If you plan to play a few games digitally. The set card it come with should be fine. If you want a large library in your system then look into a bigger card. The biggest card runs about ex100$ and most likely get it from over sea. It never got out of Japan.
Maverick6146
The integrated memory is 1G, right? That won't cut unless you only play indie games. Even AA games years ago will take around 2G space. (Atelier, trails, vanilaware games)
Helyx
The Vita has internal memory, but you really want the expandable memory card (at least 16Gb).
Barry_Allen97
But do I have to buy the original Sony one? Edited October 23, 2022 by Barry_Allen97
ShadowSkill
Yes, buy original Sony one no other brands. Get a 16GB or 32GB, I prefer just buy a 32GB is enough.

There's other options, but it requires hacking your Vita, so I don't think it's worth it.
Spacey_Dweeb
The 1001 model does not have any additional space. I can't download even a small game without a card in mine. The newer model does have a small amount of onboard storage.
MrHealthy
Only the slim has 1 GB internal memory. The OLED model has no internal memory. The slims internal memory can not be used in addition to a memory card, its just meant to tide you over until a memory card arrives. Avoid 64 GB cards, they are way to expensive and prone to failure. Go for a 16 or 32 GB card, which ever you can afford. You can use the Vitas built in content manager with the program QCMA to backup content to a PC when you are not using it.

InfinityOnH1gh
All physical and an 8GB memory card has been working well for me. The 64GB one has been confined to a dusty drawer. Still, the fact that deleting a physical game "bubble" from the system also deletes the saved data is awful. Not to mention some games save to the cart itself. What a mess.
ChiefMichigan
1. Only get authentic Sony cards. 2. Avoid the 64 GB as it's the most expensive and most prone to failure. 3. If you can get a good deal or care about re-sale or collecting, get some physical games. Usually, the save data or small updates are the only thing not on the cartridge. Unfortunately, a lot of the physical games are really expensive. 4. I have a 16 GB and 32 GB, and I'm more than fine. Yes, I'm not swimming in space. But I can prioritize deleting some completed or less liked titles.
Rockstar-Suicide
My three 32gb cards have all failed on me, so I had to resort to hacking it to use SD2Vita. I tend not to mod systems I get but there really wasn't am option that wasn't also stupid expensive
Zexenblaze
I got the 32GB and it's so expensive! However the vita is a very good device and i think it was worth the price. ?
