Popular Post Ben-Gun
New Tales From The Borderlands Trophy Guide & Roadmap Estimated trophy difficulty: 1/10 Approximate amount of time to platinum: 20-30 hours (depending on choices and how far you need to go back an replay chapters) Offline Trophies: 27 (1, 8, 4, 4) Online Trophies: 0 Number of missable trophies: 0, nothing missable (chapter select) Glitched trophies: 0 Does difficulty affect trophies?: No Minimum Playthroughs: 1 + at least 4 replays of Episode 5 or further back for all endings (5 total) Release Date: October 21, 2022 Step 1: Complete the game, make "good/nice" choices, best ending, 80% Skateboard Score, all chapter-specific trophies To get the best ending (where everyone lives) you need to have a Skateboard score of at least 75%. You earn Skateboards by working as a team, this is where it can get a bit confusing - you have to make dialogue choices where the group reacts positively. That could be inlcuding LOU13 in the group when asked about it, or in one instance choosing: "Our success was us." See the trophy "New Business" for a full playthrough with all choices. Step 2: Replay Episode 5 four times for the remaining endings, or further back This is where it can get frustrating. After I got the best ending I replayed Ep.5, Ch.4 two times with different choices and replayed Ep.5, Ch.2 once. Then I replayed the whole game for the last ending. See "You Played This Before?" for more info on how to get the different endings. Total Tale Told Collect all other trophies. From Zeroes... Complete Episode 1. Story related, unmissable Shard Snatchers Complete Episode 2. Story related, unmissable Our Lucky Winner Complete Episode 3. Story related, unmissable The Shardmenstration Complete Episode 4. Story related, unmissable ...To Heroes Complete Episode 5. Story related, unmissable New Business Finish the game with a good skateboard rating. You get this ending when all 3 relationships are about even and the Skateboard Score is 75% or above. Always be nice to the team, pick the dialogue that seems like a good response (usually not the funny ones). If you get an answer which is negative, even from a "nice" dialogue choice, quickly quit and continue - then you have a chance to pick another dialogue. The game usually saves some time after your dialogue choice. In worst case, restart the chapter. ----Failing QTE´s lowers your skateboard score. Note that ALL dialogue choices affect your scores, not only the major choices you can see on the end chapter screen.---- FOLLOW THIS SERIES IF YOU WANT TO BE SURE TO GET 80% SKATEBOARD RATING. If you don´t want to follow a full video series, you can try making the same major choices, and HOPE you get a high enough skateboard score. This way you don´t get as much of the story spoiled. ALL MAJOR CHOICES: Not Dolls. Action Figures! Collect every Vaultlander figure. There is a total of 19 Vaultlanders in the game. 3 are unisssable, 4 are picked up in free-roam sections, 5 are from optional Badass Superfan fights, 1 from specific dialogue choice, 4 from post-game Friendship/Skateboard Scores, and 3 extra Vaultlanders (which aren´t needed for the trophy - Salvador, Flak, Axton). The last 4 post-game Vaultlander Figures can be a bit annoying. You have 4 Scores = 4 Vaultlanders. The 3 Friendship Scores need to be at least 50% to unlock a figure each, and the Skateboard Score need to be 75% or above. Do note that it can be done over multiple replays. If you are lucky and have high Scores from Episode 4, you can replay from Episode 5 and make different dialogue choices. You have to replay anyways for the endings, so just focus on those. ALL VAULTLANDER LOCATIONS: Okay, Vain Much? Obtain every cosmetic. You need to purchase all skins and accessories for Octavio, Fran and Anu for the trophy. It´s impossible to get enough money on your 1st playthrough. But you´re going to replay the game a couple of times for all endings anyways. You can pick up all the money you can find in a free-roam section, trigger the next checkpoint and quit - you keep it all. The same with replay from a certain chapter, you keep all your money from the end of the game + the money you collect when replaying. ALL COSMETIC ITEMS: You're Not Naked Obtain a cosmetic item. See "Okay. Vain Much?" Each Sold Separately Obtain a Vaultlander figure. See "Not Dolls. Action Figures" Don't Get Cocky Win a Vaultlanders battle. See "And Still Champion." And Still Champion... Win every Vaultlanders battle. You have to find and battle The Badass Superfan for a total of 6 times (2 of them are story-related and unmissable). You can find him in the free-roam sections of the game. ALL BADASS SUPERFAN LOCATIONS: We're In Complete a hack. One of your first trophies, if you don´t skip the minigame. First option to get this is in Episode 1, Chapter 3. You will help Paco find Junniper and he´ll install some apps on your EchoDex. Then you will be tasked to hack the radio to get it to work. Complete the hacking minigame and the trophy is yours. Who Needs Keys? Perform a Super Science Slap. Story related, unmissable Totally Intentional Fail an action for the first time. Super simple - fail a quick-time event (QTE). You will most likely get this by playing the game. You Rich Now! Get the money from Sink or Swim. Story related, unmissable. You Poor Now! Spend the money from Sink or Swim. Story related, unmissable. Murderous Mascot Mayhem Win a Vaultlanders battle using the Claptrap figure. You find the Claptrap Vaultlander in Episode 1, Chapter 3. You will help Paco find Junniper and he´ll install some apps on your EchoDex. Then you will be tasked to hack the radio to get it to work. BEFORE you hack the radio, find the Claptrap in some trash opposite of Pacos location. Use the figure in any fight against the Badass Superfan and win. You Played This Before? View every ending. There is a total of 5 endings in the game. Each ending is determined by your relationship scores and your Skateboard Score. You need 1 ending for each Relationship and 2 from the Skateboard Score. Failing QTE´s lowers your skateboard score. Note that ALL dialogue choices affect your scores, not only the major choices you can see on the end chapter screen. The Relationships are set up like this: Skateboard Score (Team) Brain´n Brawn (Anu & Fran) Sis´n Bro (Anu & Octavio) Frogurt´n Tacos (Fran & Octavio) This is how the endings work by default. Some choices in Ep.5 may lead to other deaths, like Octavios, no matter the score. BAD ENDINGS (1 dies) x 3: By default the highest relationship (50%+) is the two people that survive, as long as ONE other relationship is below 50%. For example: Brain´n Brawn = 47%. Sis´n Bro = 57% Frogurt´n Tacos = 52% This results in Fran´s death because Anu & Octavios relationship are the highest, and one random relationship is below 50%. GOOD ENDING: You get this ending when all 3 relationships are about even and the Skateboard Score is between 50-74%. BEST / TRUE ENDING: You get this ending when all 3 relationships are about even and the Skateboard Score is 75% or above. But it doesn´t always work that way, as you can see on the scores in the video. Anu should have died when Octavio did, according to the scores. But here´s how I got all endings. - FIRST I GOT THE BEST ENDING & 80% SKATEBOARD SCORE TROPHY - From here I replayed Ep.5, Ch.4 two times for "Fran died" and "Anu died" ´endings. Don´t hug Octavio as Fran during Ep.5, Ch.4 for her to die, and don´t hug Anu as Fran during Ep.5, Ch.4 so she dies. And also don´t mention Fran during the killshot on Susan. - Then I replayed from Ep.5, Ch.2 for the Octavio died" ending. To get that ending I was mean to Octavio as Anu and he was mean to her during the conversation just before you get to Susan (Ep.5, Ch.5). I Aso said "No" to her when she asked for Eridium during the last section (if she don´t merge with the shard) - I think these were the triggers and how he died. - After many replays I started completely over to get the last ending, where they wish for more skateboards. Here you can see all endings and THE SCORES. Octavio died when Anu should, according to the scores and system above (Octavio & Frans Relationship Score was the highest). Hey, Thanks! Watch the credits after finishing the game. Watch the credits from the main menu or after beating the game. Beware that the credits are pretty long - about 20 minutes. Mas, Por Favor Wish for more tacos. During Episode 1: Chapter 4, you will be stopped by a Tediore guard. Pick "square - I wish I ate more tacos." when you are prompted with dialogue choice. Tale in the Toilet Reach a Tale Over for the first time. This trophy is earned by failing a certain action, you will reach an end-game screen and have to reload checkpoint. For example, during the big fight in the end of Episode 2, or at the end of Episode 5. There are tons of options to get this trophy throughout the game. Super Trusting Friend! Perform every background check. There is only two chapters in the game where you can perform Background Checks - Episode 1: Chapter 3 and Episode 5: Chapter 4. There is a total of 7 Checks you need to perform. If you miss a Background Check, go to chapter select and pick the correct chapter. Those Were the Days... Win the retro battle. Story related, unmissable. Bring Back the Butt! Summon the Sexy Intern. This trophy is obtainable in Episode 5: Chapter 4, during the Retro Battle. This is a mandatory part of the game. You will be given the option to choose "assist" on your 3rd turn. This will summon the Sexy Intern and give you the trophy. You Got the Goods, Kid Nail a perfect, sexy dance. This trophy is obtainable in Episode 4: Chapter 3. You will be introduced to Fergus and will be put in a new minigame. You have to press "left" and "right" when they line up. If you miss a button input, quit to menu and hit continue to try again. You need a full 30x combo for the trophy. zekromtobi
I have got the Fran died ending with 65% Skateboard rating Anu Fran was 42% Anu Ock was 61% Fran Ock around 55% I reunite with the shard and hug Anu at the end. For the neutral ending Skateboard 67% Anu Fran 42% Anu Ock 60% Fran Ock 75% I reunite with the shard and hug Anu at the end. For the best ending I have got 80% Skateboard and the relationships were all about 55-60% The do not remember the scores of the other endings. Thank you for the good work Ben-gun. zekromtobi
For the Anu died ending I have used my best ending savefile and only replay episode 5 chapter 6 and reunite with the shard but this time in the final choice I grab the shard instead of hug Anu. For the Ock died ending I do not remember the stats because I overwrite the savefile after getting it. But I have used my best ending savefile and replayed episode 4 and 5 to give bad choices to lower the relationship between Ock and Anu, Ock and Fran. The stats for my best ending are in my previous post. I hope this will help a little bit by discovering the conditions for the endings.
aZombieDictator
Reading all this is making me go insane. I don't think I'm gonna be able to Platinum this which is sad because I've done every other borderlands plat twice. One playthrough of this made me wanna jump off a cliff. I don't think I'd survive 4+ more playthroughs.

I would wait for a solid 100% confirmed guide, I’ve just tried again and all of a sudden following the guide I’ve dropped down too 67% skateboard score on episode 3 I was on 75% at the end of episode 2! The decisions shown in videos at the end don’t seem to actually matter that much it’s hitting QTEs and making the absolute correct speech decisions the developers wanted you to make. Such a stupid way to design a game and ending when the whole point is to make your own story and you get penalised for doing so. I’m gonna have to say unfortunately we’re both correct… the end of chapter decisions you see make little to no difference it’s all in the QTEs and conversational decisions right at the start of the game in literally the first 30 minutes is a huge decision with no correlation to the rest of the story which can change the path it’s beyond dumb. I followed the guide again and ended up with the same ending so that’s 30 hours wasted on this game. I’m gonna join in you hoping someone makes a concrete guide because fuck this ?.

It's like whoever made this trophy list saw how easy and simple all the telltale games were and wanted to just troll and say fuck you, you've had it easy for too long. By far the worst borderlands game and worst trophy list for the series. Wish they at least added a cut scene skip, they added collectibles for endings so you'd think they'd add something to help get them, but nah. Kinda funny a game that takes literally no skill is the most painful to plat in the series.
OTPYG
Just finished the game only reading up beforehand that “if you make positive choices and don’t fail any QTEs you’ll get the 80% skateboard score”. Felt like I did all this, yet somehow ended on 65%, despite being on 75% at the end of Episode 4.. Trash, inconsistent and vague trophy requirements aside, this game was just so bad. For what is essentially an interactive story, the story needs to be solid. Telltale’s was a masterpiece. This was a hot mess that felt like it was written by a bunch of teens. Even if a proper trophy guide is written up I don’t know if I can stomach another playthrough (and multiple repeats of Ep 5 for all the endings) just to tick off a Plat. Here’s hoping they patch in a cutscene skip for those who have beaten the game.. Wishful thinking. /mini rant Edited October 31, 2022 by OTPYG

Had like 90% in chapter 2 And yep it's absolutely dumpster fire of a game, borderlands 3 story is trash but had amazing gameplay to back it up, this is even worse than borderlands 3 story with no gameplay to back it up.
Billie_691
I don't get it ... @Ben-Gun in your video guide for getting 80% skateboard rating you end up with 75% in the end of episode 5, or am I missing something? Trophy requires 80%? In the end of episode 2, I have over 90% skateboard rating. No matter what I do in episode 3 (played it four times now), I drop to 65% or even 53%, depending on choices. Of course I don't fail QTEs an pick up the nicest options available, tried different ones, nothing works. In episode 4 and 5 I can increase it again, but not enough to end up with 80%. What I can tell you so far: Having QTEs on easy, hard or even completely disabled, doesn't matter for the skateboard rating. I played episode 3 with both options (hard QTEs and disabled QTEs), took the same choices, both runs ended in 53% skateboard rating. But I disabled the timer on QTEs, maybe that matters. I don't know and I'm not gonna try it again for now, after playing this shit over and over again, it's enough for now. Game was funny in the first playthrough, but the second one immediately gets boring. I think I'm gonna wait for a confirmed and complete guide. Most (text)guides I found simply doesn't work, some videoguides like OverHypedGamer's just shows episode 5, starting there with a rating over 70%. Great. So in my case something goes completely wrong with episode 3, dropping me totally down in rating. edit: ok, found one more guide that looks promising. Best ending (everyones survived, game says "The team reflects on a job well done..."). Only 78% skateboard rating, but I'm sure that's fixable in episode 5 to get 80%. I don't know what's wrong with the game, I started with over 80% after episode 4. Followed a guide where the rating was increased during episode 5 from 70% to 80% step-by-step, I lost rating. The game is just confusing by itself with choices and skateboard rating. You think you made a nice choice, but the outcome of the dialog after the choice is not friendly. So sometimes you just don't see the nice choices as they are written ... @Ben-Gun next question (sorry ) I collected all 16 vaultlander figures. I had FL4K as an extra figure from the beginning (pre-order bonus). Game says 17/18 in the collection. No trophy for me. And yes, absolutely 100% sure, I collected all 16 figures available in the game. Edited November 1, 2022 by Billie_691

Billie_691
Little update from me ... this game is so f*king weird ... I get more confused the more I play and try to understand things I got the 80% skateboard rating now. The video from OverHypedGamer didn't work at all, while he was raising his skateboard rating, my rating got reduced while I took the same options than he did. After that I replayed episode 5 with the video from @Ben-Gun here ... worked perfectly! Thank you! 12 minutes ago, OTPYG said: However upon finding your videos here I used yours for a chapter 1 replay. Every single decision the exact same as yours. Yeah like I said, there must be something wrong in the game or there must be something we all don't see yet. I've read this under a lot of guides ... "didn't work" ... "wrong" ... people are copying the exact choices and get different scores. Happened to me with two different guides, I started from the very beginning, picked every single choice like it was done in the guide, even the QTE settings were the same ... different outcome. 17 minutes ago, OTPYG said: I used Powerpyx’s guide for my first playthrough. I didn't collect any figures there, I don't know what happened. Absolutely 100% sure that I had all 16 figures before, I double checked the collection from the main menu. So, only one trophy left for me, the endings. Already got the good one (they wished they had earned more skateboards) and the best one (the team reflects on a job well done). Missing the three bad endings. Hopefully this is gonna work better then the rest did up to this point. What a pain

What is your skateboard score in ep 4? You can replay from 4.1 or even 5.1 - I could have just replayed from 4.1, but replayed the whole game... learn from my mistake

I think playing from 5.1 onwards can fix it. But I'll try to kill Ock first. Edit: Only the neutral ending is missing now, the question is... I'm having trouble reducing the team's score. What actually reduces the team's score? Because I managed to make Ock die by undermining his relationships as of 5.4 (in addition to missing several QTEs). But my team score is still great, just to give you an idea he died, and I still had 74% of the boards. Yesterday I tried one of the bad endings, didn't work, got the best ending again But I think QTEs were disabled / automatically won ...

I just finished with: Team 70% Anu and Fran 68% Anu and Octavio 57% Octavio and Fran 47% And guess what? Fran died, and my neutral ending didn't come.
