I just finished Shenmue about 45 minutes ago! Gotta say, the only thing I didn't like was waiting around and doing nothing for a combined total of 2 hours across the entire game til it was late enough to go to sleep to progress the story. Other than that, I really enjoyed roaming around the towns, talking to people and just experiencing the story of Shenmue. As much as some people might have a disdain for the dialogue and voices, I found most of it pretty enjoyable, and laughed out loud quite a bit with Ryo starting off conversation half the time with "Um..." , and the other person either helping him out or expressing how busy they were with...nothing in particular, like most of the time. The combat was pretty cool, too, and I never really felt like it took too long to get the grasp of the stronger moves like the Tornado Kick and Crawl Cyclone. Overall, it was pretty fascinating how a game with the mechanics that it has came together in 1999, before open-world games really became a big thing. 1 down, 14 to go!

So I did a rage break from Dark Cloud 2 after the Starlight Canyon kept flipping me the bird with its Spheda challenges. The thing is you have to keep clearing the level to make the Spheda challenge appear and those areas are not small. Worse, the portal and ball would spawn too far away and when I did get close to a clear, the dang ball was the same color and I couldn't bump it to make it change color before it reached the hole, and when the hole is the same color as the ball, the ball gets repelled violently... into a damn river. ? I kept losing the Spheda challenge in that one level, and I need to clear it for two reasons: One, to get the Medalhead trophy I need to clear ALL challenges, including the Spheda ones and (2) I need the reward from that level's Spheda, a Topaz, to complete the recipe for Monica's 5-Star Armlet. You see, I just healed Lin and now she's in my 'party' and she leaves for good once I defeat the chapter boss. I cleared every level up to the boss, and I need Lin's benefit which gives me an extra point on armlets, and I intend to keep her around until I get enough points on the armlet since it will cost me a lot of points to upgrade it. So basically I am following a guide on GameFAQs on how to get a Magic Brassard up to 5-Star Armlet. (For the record, I am talking about Monica's ranged attack, her magic armlet which lets her shoot energy balls. It's the counterpart to Max's guns.)

 

On the upside, I managed to gather enough special EXP for Steve the Ridepod to upgrade his core to the last one, getting me the trophy Core Strength for obtaining the Master Core, which is probably the most expensive thing you can exchange for Ridepod EXP at 6500. I only need to buy six more shield packs to fully upgrade the Ridepod's armor and then I can be mostly invincible while in the Ridepod. I quit for the day and switched over to Persona 5 Royal. I was glad to see I had not actually deleted my save so I was still at the point where I had gotten Izanagi-no-Okami Picaro so I just progressed through the palace to the shrine and now intend to farm a frew Beriths. I want to farm Beriths until I hit Level 25 so I can one-shot the boss with Myriad Truths. Got the trophies for a few things along the way.

Hey everybody!

Can I get in on this?

I've been debating if I should join again but seeing I will be playing the following games anyway, I thought 'why not?'.

My games are:

 

Farming Simulator 16 (Vita) - 0%:

• It's one of the games saved for my X-mas break but not a priority so if I can't finish it during I'll just finish it after my break.

Skylanders Superchargers (PS4) - 0%: 

• This is my other game for my X-mas break. I do plan to finish it during, so I can pack up the figures when going back to work. Already bought the characters I think I will need for 100%.

F1 22 (PS4) - 34%:

• I have already done the online part for this game but I was saving the plat for a personal milestone which is coming up soon.

Biomutant (PS4) - 0%:

• My brother said good things about this game and I don't want to fall behind on my PS+ backlog.

Tales of Symphonia (PS3) - 20%:

• Ok this one is the big one and I don't know if I can fit this in time but I'll give it my best. Also this event is a great motivator to get my ass in gear for this game. I have done my first playthrough (plat takes 4-5 if done right) and I plan to fire the game back up during my X-mas break (it's gonna be busy) to do some clean up and get a refresher on things before starting up my next run. Honestly, if I can do 2 more playthroughs I'll consider it a success, but I do want to go for the plat.

 

Currently playing a game that doesn't qualify for this event (Far Cry 5 - 51%), which I will keep on playing till I can download Biomutant then I'll start on my list with that game sometime next week.

Spent all night getting to Chapter 5 of Dark Chronicle. I have been obsessed with Spheda golf and that is bad because I rage quit last time due to one level giving me trouble. Now it's a lot of stuff. The Spheda courses in the fourth dungeon are really notorious because you can't change the color of the ball normally due to the walls being irregular and the floor being so wet that bouncing is impossible. In fact, you have to whack the ball hard to make it move more than an inch.

 

Surprisingly, the Mount Gundor Spheda is not giving me as much trouble as I thought. Sure, I failed a couple of times because I am terrible and golf and can't judge how far something will fly when I whack it with a stick, so the ball ends up fall into pits... but I'm doing fine so far. I actually got enough Medals for two Name-Change Tickets so now the two characters are rocking high-level weapons which I am using to farm ABS for building up the actual weapons. Now I have to go to bed because it's already 6 AM and I need to get plenty of sleep for church this evening. ?

Actually gonna try something different, starting with replacing my bed. What I was smoking en masse thinking that a loft bed was a good idea is not important here. Luckily, my dad disassembled that abomination and will be building a normal twin bed frame for my memory foam mattress so I can get decent sleep.

 

Anyways, with my birthday in 30 hours, I decided to restart Persona 5 Royal and use TheGamer's Persona 5 Royal 100% Completion Walkthrough to see if I could get done faster with that. I have my old save in backup just in case(the one using Optinoob's guide, the guide I used for my last few runs of this game). But I should be able to return to where I was last time and get the first palace done quickly since the infiltration is earlier than the one in the last guide I used.

Update #1

I'm going to attempt to do these every week on a Monday, whether progress has been made or not.. because it'll keep the event fresh in my mind, and hopefully I will finish a list one day!

 

Not much to report on this week apart from some further progress in Watch Dogs. Unfortunately, because in typical iXanon fashion I got so far in the game and started over, it seems that Geolocated has glitched on me. Thankfully there's a workaround, though it will require me to start another playthrough completely offline in order for the game to reset the locations that I've already checked into. I'm stuck on 88/100 with all locations showing as checked in on my current file. It'll probably be the last trophy I do..

 

Aside from that, I'm enjoying the game quite a lot. It feels slightly criminal for it to have spent so long on my profile in such a poor state of completion!

Hello and welcome to the first episode of updates with Jay.

This weeks progress includes 37 trophies, but first a word from our sponsor, RAID Sha... no just kidding.

 

First of all, I'm adding a game:

Tiny Tinas Wonderlands (PS4) 14% 

I hope stacks are okay, I'm not auto unlocking it

 

I've decided to start with GRID Legends in the first week of the challenge, because it has the most trophies with 81 and is probably the most grindy game on my list.

Completing the story of the main game and 2 of the 3 DLCs.

Also including the small grind to finish up the first DLC.

 

The difficulty in GRID is weird. There is none. I've started with normal, because that's how games are supposed to be played - won with a 30 seconds.

Changed the difficutly to extreme, skipped Hard - won with a 15 seconds gap

Okay legend difficulty it is then - got wrecked completly.

Which means, I'm curretly cruising around the various tracks and layouts on a difficutly that is too low, but that I can't increase. Fun times.

 

But now the story. It's not bad, but the most memorable part for me is how they pretty much discard your existence. It's Yume (your teammate) that, Yume this, bla bla bla.

I also dislike that they always call you 22 (your cars number), because they didn't bother voicing the lines with a preset of names. I personally think that's just lazy and not up to date. The game was released earlier this year, is it too much to ask for a story where you as a driver have a name?

Even if it's not the name I've given myself it's still better than "Yume and Driver 22".

 

Anyways, progress report:

Including the trophies earned before the challenge started, I'm at 94 out of 288 total trophies.

Which is an increase of 13% for my completion rate.

 

Next weeks plans include more Grid and maybe a bit of God of War as preparation for the next milestone.

Finished my first game. I’ve played Never Alone before, a long time ago, on pc. I enjoyed it then and I enjoyed again this time, although I don’t remember the controls being quite so fiddly, there were a few deaths where I was trying to do something, but the characters either didn’t listen, or did what I wanted just a little too late. Still it wasn’t too bad (the final area was the worst part), and I’m looking forward to Never Alone 2 whenever it’s ready.

 

I’ve added a couple games (because I can’t help playing other games). They’re for the 12 days of Christmas challenge at TT, luckily I think they’re both quite short so shouldn’t stop me finishing the rest of the list

Update 1 - 12/5/2022

 

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II 5% 73%

Not a bad start. Got through the campaign on Veteran in Call of Duty and now I'm cleaning up all the misc. mission trophies on Recruit. Just a few more of those and then I'll start attempting the co-op trophies, which I've read can be tricky. I might just wait and see if they add the option to do them solo or local co-op before the challenge is over. We'll see.

 

I also started on Dragon Quest Heroes. It's been on my list for 7 years after renting it once. Now that it's on PS Plus I'm determined to finish it off before it goes away. Luckily my old cloud save was still there so I didn't have to start all over. Made a little progress, but I was mostly just re-learning how to play again. I'll put some real time into it this week. Seems like it will be a good zone out + podcast game.

 

Plans for this week are to finish the last campaign trophies in MW2, keep grinding in DQ Heroes, and maaaybe start on a quicker game like Onimusha or F1 Manager.
