OmriStyle27
I know this game is free now on PS Plus but IMO try to avoid it or at least do your research before you start playing it , i know it looks like an easy platinum and all but wow is it glitchy as hell. if i didn't read about the glitches this game has before i started playing it i would easily had to start at least 2 new playthroughs during my run for the platinum. and don't get me wrong this game is fun and all (after you use cheat codes, without them it's really slow) and i do love lego games and the harry potter franchise but during my whole run i wasn't sure if i will get the platinum or not because of the glitches (especially student in peril & grand stairs) , and the game is not that short either , going for the 100% and playing every level at least 2 times for all the collectibles can take around 20+ hours , and the thought that i might have to do all of this again gave me an anxiety throughout the entire time. I know that this probably chances from person to person and not everyone get the same experience but i just wanted to share my personal experience with the game and try to warn some of the people that are thinking of going for this platinum , it's doable if you know what you're doing (and also have a little bit of luck). currently i'm playing the second game from the lego harry potter collection (years 5-7) and i almost finished 50% of the game and still didn't encountered any glitches , so the second looks a lot better so far (trophy list is a little bit boring tho). Popular Post mega-tallica
The Lego games all have glitches but most are nothing more than minor annoyances, nothing that should be anxiety inducing. And the major ones that can ruin your 100% are easily avoided and well-documented online in most cases with work-arounds. I've personally played just about every Lego game and got 100% for all of them and never ran into any major glitches. But you hear horror stories online and it could make you hesitant to play them but my personally experience tells me it's quite rare for that to happen. The games are mindlessly easy which is a nice change of pace sometimes but they are time-consuming platinums (much longer than 10 hours, even if you blast through it, the Potter ones are like 20-25 hours long for 100%). I did both Potter games twice, the original and the remastered versions. They're all basically the same and you can follow the same strategy through every one. Play through the story first as it unlocks the characters you'll need for the open-world and freeplay, get the multiplier, attract, and invincibility red bricks, play through the story again in freeplay to get all the collectibles you couldn't get before, and then knock out all the open-world stuff. Takes forever seemingly especially having to play all the levels again but I found them very satisfying to complete to 100%. The Potter ones are definitely two of the best, some of the others can be a complete slog though if you're not into the source material I guess especially The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings ones. Not only was I not into the source material but those 2 also happen to be two of the longer Lego games on top of that. They just go on forever and I hear the new Star Wars one is the longest one yet which is why I haven't played it yet.
Matto_lsi
From what I understand, the PS3 versions have much more prevalent bugs than the PS4 versions. I never played the PS3 versions, but I played this collection a while back and got both platinums with relative ease. As mega-tallica said above, all the major, potentially game-breaking bugs are well documented, and in my experience, the ones for this collection didn't exist in the PS4 versions, or were much more easily avoided. You'll likely need a guide anyway for some of the more nuanced trophies and collectibles, so best to consult it before playing to see if there's any major bug warnings. But anyone who has played a Lego game before already knows this. As far as the games themselves, the playstyle of these 2 Lego games are a bit different than most of the others, so if you're used to say Lego Batman, Lego Marvel, or Lego Pirates, it's a bit of an adjustment. However I found them very enjoyable, and I played them right after doing a two-week Potter movie marathon with my kids, who are playing the games themselves now and also very much enjoying them.

Well said. but yeah like i said not everyone get the same experience , some are good , and some are worst than others. but basically the point of this thread was to let people know that this is not a game you can just pick up and play without doing any research , if you're already familiar with lego game so this is not news for you , but for new players it can be helpful information. and i don't know why but seeing some SIP not showing up in some of the rooms in Hogwarts gave me an anxiety , also grand stairs glitch out on me a few times. like you've said the games are easy , fun and a nice change of pace and i really enjoyed them but the fact that you have to check how to solve or avoid some glitches take some of the fun away , especially in a mindless and fun game like this. and yeah you're right about the time , they are time consuming and i edit it in the post. and i agree about the The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings , lego games should not be that long so i think i will try to avoid them as well. 5 hours ago, Matto_lsi said: From what I understand, the PS3 versions have much more prevalent bugs than the PS4 versions. Lil-Gameboy123
LEGO Harry Potter we’re good games, but even though I’ve heard of all the nasty bugs people have encountered, I got lucky and had no problems at all. I’ve played both games on both PS3 & PS4 and they all ran and acted perfectly. Meanwhile, I’m going through LEGO The Hobbit (PS3), but I held off on it because my used disk from Amazon is preventing me from even continuing the story.
Popular Post mikem192
Easily over 20 Lego plats myself with little to no issues. Like mentioned, all glitches are well documented! Standard tips I use when going for these plats: -Leave co-op alone or get the co-op related trophies last. Co-op seems to mess up a fair few Lego games -Keep back up saves -Always check the % goes up with every new collection, mission, token -Check forums/guides and go for the glitched areas first Easy

maxstirner_2015
The game crashed on me twice; other than that, everything went pretty smoothly. I paid heed to the rooms with glitchy collectibles, and the guide does a great job at pointing what are the problematic places. It's a nice LEGO game, I had played it some years ago on Nintendo DS, its much shorter and less tedious than Marvel Super Heroes when you get to free play. On a sidenote though, you don't need to play through all levels twice. The moment you get all collectibles during Free Play you can leave and save the game.

Yeah i heard some lego games can be super long and tedious, i haven't played any of those yet but i do want to try just to see what everyone is talking about. And thanks for the tip i didn't know that, sounds like a time saver. I'm going for all the collectibles on the second game now (years 5-7) so i will use it for sure.
bigstevieg85
I started this a few months ago when I had Premium and never earned a trophy so deleted it. Have done quite a few lego games and found this one unnecessarily confusing in the beginning. Reminded me of lego star wars 3 clone wars in that respect. Just couldn't seem to get going with it.

Most LEGO games aren’t so bad in terms of length to 100%. But the worst and longest ones to look out for imo are LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. For MSH2, there’s 20 story levels, 6 DLC Packs, and a ton of collectible bricks, quests, and characters that you would need to collect for 100%. If I remember correctly, it is also buggy in some regard, but I forgot. On the other hand, LEGO Star Wars combines all 9 movies into one game and you have over 1,100+ Kyber Bricks to collect across all the planets in the game, each with their own quests. The most annoying part about all of it is the repetitive backtracking to different planets in order to complete certain quests. If you ever plan on getting the game, you’ll see what I mean. It’s fun, but the grind was horrendously long.

I once completed Assassin's Creed - Black Flag to 100% on PC and this game has around 650 collectibles and it was way too much, so 1,100? no way haha. 21 hours ago, crestorapper said: Has anyone found any problems with this game's glitched trophies? Lava_Yuki
I've never played a Lego game, but my region is Japan so we did not get lego HP on plus as it's not available in Japanese, instead we got Crystar, which is an easy platinum although I find it really boring. I avoid playing glitchy games, I was looking at the lego HP guide which was saying about the glitches, which im surprised they have not patched or fixed by nosw. Jason-DFG
I've done both the PS3 as PS4 version for lego Harry Potter and i have not experienced any bugs? Maybe i've just gotten lucky but this is the first i hear about this?
LegendExeter
Same as the above poster. I platted both PS3 Harry Potters, and never had any glitches, they ran smoothly. The grind in this game wasn't so bad, and while Lego games are sometimes tedious, the grinds aren't as bad as a lot of other titles out there. I could not buy ONE character token and was sitting at around 80% already. So I had to start a new playtrough. This time I checked every hour on the correct numbers of token, bricks, crests. This ruined the experience with this fun game for me somehow. I strongly recommend to check your progress often, if you want to have an easy plat.
