This ought to be correct. I spent nearly half the year in a miserable mental state, where video games were the last thing on my mind. With a little motivation from a backlog event here, however, I ultimately completed far more than I expected to, after returning to gaming in late May.

 

Regarding quality, it was a very strong year indeed! I enjoyed most of these quite a bit, although several stinkers were certainly in the mix. My favorite was unquestionably Hades, while my least favorite had to be Grood. Of course, I'll edit this list if I happen to get anything else done; currently playing Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.

This year has been mainly about cleaning up my backlog. My overall completion was in the mid-80's and I currently am at 91.59% and my unearned trophies are well below 1,000. These are feats that I thought were beyond my reach but the Attack on Completion event helped encourage me to reach those amounts. I hope to earn at least 2 more platinums, one for each of the 2 remaining months which will continue my streak of at least one platinum a month - December I think would be 24 months. Looking beyond those 2, I would like to reach/ break 20 platinum trophies for a third year in a row.

 

Some monster numbers by some people here, keep on hunting!

Although the amount of platinums I got wasn't as high as it was last year, I still got decent amount of them. The question is, which ones I enjoyed the most? I enjoyed all except one but choosing the most enjoyable ones was hard. After a lot of thinking, I've chosen the following games for my Top 5 list below.

Coming up with the Top 5 list was a tough one. As mentioned earlier, I enjoyed almost all of the games I played this year, and any of them could’ve made it to the list. After a lot of thinking, I decided to choose these games. As for why I ranked both Scarlet Nexus and Knockout City as number 1, there’s a good reason for that. They were the one of the first games I played on the PS5, I enjoyed both of them a lot and they were a good way to pass time during my summer vacation. Do I need other reasons for that?

 

What about the least enjoyable one? The answer for that is Destruction AllStars. It's far from the worst game I've played (Mighty Number 9 still holds that spot), but of all the platinums I got this year, this is the one. The game looks great for a PS5 game, but it lacks enough content to stand out. Not to mention, some of the trophies would've been a real pain to get if it wasn't for boosting.

 

As for what I've planned for 2023, I’ve already decided the first few games I’m going to play. From the looks of it, it’s going to be filled with platforming games for the most part. I’m also planning to speedrun another game where I’ll get the platinum as quickly as possible. I’ve been planning to do it since late 2021 but had to cancel that for reasons. After listening to its soundtrack lately, I’m starting to get hungry and want to do it right now. But first, I’ll prepare myself for my next milestone. After that, I’m considering doing it.

Unlike I was thinking earlier this month, the year's not exactly closed for me yet, since First Class Trouble will be a hit or miss..

 

That said, I got 38 plats so far, making it a new record for me.. didn't really saw it coming, but having improved my total completion from 89.x% to 91.x% (unearned trophies down to under 1400, from over 1600) ? and my average rarity going "up" from 36.3% to 36.7% ?, may show why I got so many platinum this year..

 

Still, got 1+ UR platinum as I have been doing since I started earning trophies, so, that's something, I guess..
