MystifyR
Hey all, So im deciding to retackle this beast of a game and as always theres a grind, the grind being Crown Master, now the game has been out A LONG TIME now and curious to know if there are any changes in the game which make this easier? everything out there is out of date by like 5 years, i read somewhere the original grind was just doing the events that happened every 2 weeks but apparently now they are permanent?? just alot of mixed messages out there and would love to see if theres anything to tell about this trophy and how to grind in 2022, to help me and others going for this in recent activity... Thanks
archangeltw_
There hasn’t been a patch since the early 2021, and there’s never been any sort of crown framing events that occur every two weeks. Capcom releases the non-Elder Dragons rescue missions earlier. Just keep farming those missions. They are always there and there’s no cooldown time to retake those missions. Feichti1992
It was relativ easy for me. I did mhw + iceborn in 550h both. There are now really many event quests where you get a crown. There are obly a few monsters that you need to farm yourself. My probem children where silver+gold rathian
Popular Post JediKnight_327
I just started it about a month ago. Differences I noticed since I played it when it first came out: 1) As you mentioned, all event quests are now available all of the time. The strategy is still the same as before: you can get gold crowns easily from the quests I've listed below (copied from another site). Quests in bold have multiple monsters, after a few tries, you should have collected some crowns. You can then load the quest, and only kill the monster which is the size you need. If you choose 'return from quest', you'll still get the gold crown, without having to kill the others. Great Jagras - Both - USJ Gold Star Treatment Dodogama - Large - USJ Blazing Azure Stars! Azure Rathalos - Small - USJ Blazing Azure Stars! Barroth - Large - Down the Dark, Muddy Road (Arena Quest) Kulu-Ya-Ku - Large - Egg Lovers United Odogaron - Small - A Rush of Blood Anjanath - Large - The Proving (PS4 only) Deviljho - Both - The Heart of the Nora (PS4 only) Quests with increased chance for gold crowns Deep Green Blues - Great Jagras / Pukei-Pukei / Tobi-Kadachi / Anjanath / Rathalos Wildspire Bolero - Kulu-Ya-Ku / Barroth / Jyuratodus / Rathian / Diablos Coral Waltz - Tzitzi-Ya-Ku / Paolumu / Pink Rathian / Legiana Effluvial Opera - Great Girros / Radobaan / Odoragon / Bazelgeuse Rock N' Roll Recess - Dodogama / Uragaan / Lavasioth / Azure Rathalos On deep green blues for example, Rathalos only spawns after killing 3 of the others so if you have a rathalos crown left, its probably best getting it with an investigation using the strategy in point 3. 2) Since Iceborne released, the game now offers everyone 'defender' armour and weapons. This is easy to obtain, over-powered gear to help you speed-run through the game so that you can get to iceborne quicker, but its available even if you dont have iceborne. The weapons (or at least the hammer) are more powerful than the best base game weapons. The armour makes low rank and most of high rank easy, but after that you should get an armour set from the base game which can be upgraded beyond what the defender armour can be upgraded to. 3) The servers arent as active so you wont have the luxury of using the search filters to find specific types of quests for specific monsters. That said, people still do use the SOS and quests are available so you can choose from whats available at the time. I picked up both Teostra crowns, small Vaal Hazak and small Kirin, just from joining peoples SOS investigations. Strategy is still same as before, investigations with at least 1 gold + 2 silver rewards, 3 tries and time limited give you best chance for a crown so only bother joining those investigations. Another thing that I've noticed has changed is that you wont be shown any event quests in the SOS search unless you filter event quests. When I used to play near launch, there were event quests shown even without selecting the filter. When I've sent out an SOS myself in event quests, most of the time no-one has joined but dont worry, the monsters have low health in these quests and the equipment is overpowered so its still easy doing it solo. 4) I've noticed that when spawning into a quest, I'm more often being diverted straight into the action by landing in an area where a monster is, or a 'secret area' which usually has a mining spot with armour spheres. I assume this is also to speed up peoples progression in the base game so they can move onto iceborne. I dont remember the chances of this happening to be so high when I played the game years ago. You'll need to do investigations for the others fir best chance at other crowns, though.
