Well technically nobody can "play" these games, pressing a single button is not gameplay, there's actually more gameplay involved unlocking my phone or drawing some cash out from the ATM.

This is almost the same for Borderlands 2 on Vita, if Vita is your only SONY system and you bought Borderlands 2 for it, then well, you've got 2 DLC you can never buy.

Oh yeah, I remember this. I wanted to get the Vita version to try it, but this combined with the terrible framerate made me just stick with the PS3 version.

 

I also know that Tales from Borderlands has that one stack you cannot buy anymore. Having a complete Borderlands tropht collection would be a nightmare.

It's common sense that they don't have prominence on the front end of this website. Spam "games" shouldn't be deleted but they should certainly be made less noticeable.

If it was up to many of us that stuff would be straight up banned, not even hidden. Many of us look down on it so heavily because it preys on weak minded individuals who desperately seek validation in life anywhere they can get it because they feel inferior to others or like they aren't worth a damn. That's the only reason people buy this stuff, or play easy plats. It's sad to say, but for some this is all they have going for them. It's unimaginable to the rest of us looking from the outside, but to them it's a way of feeling accomplished by raising a number/leaderboard rank. Quite literally all they are doing is wasting their money and putting it in the hands of a greedy, uninspired and lazy developer who doesn't have the skills to develop a good game. Nobody looks at your leaderboard rank or even cares about your profile besides yourself. People need to understand this, and stop treating it like it's opinion when it's fact. So many people on this site waste so much money trying to attain completely meaningless metrics that it's genuinely sad to think about. To see a profile with 100+ shovelware games and not a decent game in sight, that's somewhat heartbreaking knowing they could be actually enjoying video games instead of being so desperate for validation.

 

If you want validation from video games, make friends with other gamers and push each other to accomplish challenging things in specific games. Doesn't matter how niche your leaderboard of choice is or how close you are to #1, I promise you that 99.9% of people are either not looking at you, or looking at you like you're a clown if you're doing nothing but, or padding heavily with easy plats. If you have absolutely nothing else in life and you do this because you think it is fulfilling, or feel obligated, you legitimately might need to consider searching within yourself to figure out what went wrong in your life to lead to you trying to fill a hole with this stuff. I'm sure there are sub communities or friendships based on pushing each other to do easy plats, but from an outsider perspective all that is is drug addicts pushing other drug addicts to feed their bad habits.

 

I'm sure there are people out there who will scoff at a post like this, and they're the ones that need to hear it most. They'll just argue we're telling them how to spend their time and money when we're not - we're just judging how you do those things appropriately. Not too long ago I saw people complaining about PS3 leaderboards having cheaters. And you go into these people's profiles and it's just bad PS3 game after bad PS3 game, clearly them trying to rise in the ranks. How much time is wasted for NOTHING? You don't get a physical reward, you don't get genuine praise from anyone. All you are doing is convincing yourself you've done something awesome, and in reality you have done absolutely nothing worth measuring. Setting the goal to become #1 in the world for visual novel games beginning with an H on vita doesn't make you a legend if you reach it, it makes you a dork who picked a niche thing that nobody else is really competing with you on.

 

Just... man. Play good games, guys. Enjoy the games you play. Play for entertainment and self-challenge, not to try and prove yourself to others who don't ultimately care about you a single iota. You will find at the end of your rainbow there is absolutely nothing but a pit of despair when reality sets in. And it always sets in for this kind of thing. You will feel empty when you realize you've spent all that time and effort to achieve absolutely nothing in the end. You can love trophies and also play great games. You don't need a perfect completion percentage, you will not be punished for not having 100% in every game. You can (and should) strive for it of course, but sometimes you have to just take an 80% and be OK with it for the sake of being able to get the experience of a great game. If this dev wanted,they could charge $10 for a DLC each month and some of you would pay it or be forced to hide the entire list, thus completely wasting the money you spent in the first place. That's addict level nonsense, reflect on that.

 

And to the developer, who I'm sure is reading this - we both know this is just a side hustle for you and an easy source of some small income. Kudos to you for getting away with it. I'm OK with you making money in such a lazy way, ultimately my blame is on the customers, but you better be feeling some regret and shame when you look in the mirror and know how much you annoy every single person trying to browse the PSN store. I hope you eventually grow a sack and try making a halfway decent game for people to enjoy, but we both know you'll prob just fade into obscurity once Sony pulls the plug.

Always amuses me when people on this forum website try to complicate the issue of easy platinums (EZPZ, not easy games that are genuinely enjoyable). You glance at their trophy list and over 90 percent of everything on it is filled with loads of stacks and hundreds of platinums, most of which are 5 - 30 minute platinum trophies that took no real effort to obtain.

 

@ChibsSoA hit the nail on the head and I think more people on this website need to take his advice.

 

Shame on you developers for releasing this garbage and then trying to defend your crap when it's obvious why you're doing it.

Yeah but this is a hobby and it's a competitive hobby as well like it or not.  What people choose to do effects everyone else hobby as well.  It would be like if you played a friendly game of poker every friday with 8 guys and one guy started dealing off the bottom of the deck.  would everyone say, " oh just let him do what he wants"?   This  is a collective hobby we share and to be honest playing legit games was how the hobby started out so to say we gotta accept trash interfering with  and worsening that experience is quite bold.  Now I don't know if you are just some troll or the owner of the shovelware company of the same name.  Regardless you're not convincing us to give up the fight to protect a hobby we all love and have fun with to make way for your financial success.   Speaking to the owner of the company I'd say get some noble work instead of bottom feeding off peoples addictions with no talent trash. Speaking to the troll I'd just say get lost.

Awful example, doing something against the rules aka cheating is not the same as buying something that someone else doesn't want to because they do not like it.

nobody would play those games without the trophies.  It's delusional to think they would want to otherwise.  it's a leaderboard exploit.  I don't differentiate it from cheating myself.  the way I look at it it's maybe worse than cheating.  Cheating takes effort. Holding x down takes none.

@GAchievements Guessing your the guy? Well as one of the people who buy these trophies (hmm hmm I mean games) I can say I don't want DLC's at all. It's a nuisance to keep track of which one gets a DLC, then having to redownload it. That's work dude, we don't buy for actual effort you know that right? Hahaha.

 

So although the people saying not to buy shovelware won't stop me. If the games started popping up with DLC's every few days, free or not, it would stop be buying future releases from you for the hassle of getting those turd balls back to 100%.

You don't have any of these games on your profile and the games are hidden by default on this site. So why are you complaining? lol You are literally turning off the filter to find these games so you can post and complain about them...it makes no sense lol. No one is forcing you to play them. Even Sony cleaned up the PSN Store so they don't show there as well. So what's your issue? I hate FIFA but I'm not going to say remove them from this site and existence. Why do you spend more time complaining about games you don't even own instead of spending that time playing your own games?
