Walkthrough for You Played This Before? trophy - viewing all 5 endings

This trophy is truly offensive. No idea how to figure out playing through and making some of the minuscule changes without using a guide so I thought it would help to provide others a step by step walkthrough of getting the 5 endings if it helps anyone else. 

 

My first play I got the Best Ending, but was just shy of getting New Business trophy. I had zero interest in playing the full game multiple times to "try" and get the different endings by experimenting. Between some bits and pieces I came across in comments here and spread out other places such as TrueAchievements, I pulled together what I hope is a pretty easy to follow, comprehensive guide to get through the play throughs as efficiently as possible.

TIP: Gameplay adjustments to save you some time

I didn't want to sit around and be alert during long non-interactive sections of the game. So after completing Best Ending, Anu death and Octavio death endings, I made the following changes to the Gameplay settings. Then using Remote Play I would just set my phone down for long spans of time to pick it up with it ready for me to make a choice. This allowed me to multitask and do there things while letting the majority of these play throughs play out in the background. 

Dialogue Timer: OFF

Quick Time Events Timer: OFF

Quick Time Event Difficulty: HARD 

(during your plays certain QTEs have to be done correct and some have to be done wrong. This way I could accurately do them or pick a wrong button and insure it registered as a fail. If mess up, just exit to menu and continue)

 

ALL three of the death "bad endings" can be gained by replying just Episode 5 or in Anu death case, just the final chapter. In each attempt, I cloned a copy of my best ending play through to preserve it and played the new ending attempt on the copied version.

Ending 2: Anu dead

This is easiest ending to get. Load up Episode 5, Chapter 6 and have Octavio reach for the shard instead of hug Anu. (turning off dialogue and QTE timers works here)

Ending 3: Octavio dead

Start at the beginning of Episode 5. I set the controller down to let it skip over/auto pick the majority of interactions. Below is a list of the moments I had to interact with the game or do something specific as to to keep it from being a "Game Over". (recommend leaving dialogue and QTE timers ON for this one so they can auto roll through selections, misses)

 

Octavio grab Brock the gun, then spam circle to control

Fran break ice to stop ax swing (can skip second prompt)

Octavio spam square to stop slapping self

Anu build bridge

Fran 16 bit fight

Octavio Susan’s office run around

Ending 4: Fran dead

Load up Episode 5. Complete OTEs unless guide here says to fail. (turning off dialogue and QTE timers works here)

 

As Anu being a jabber pick the following options, top option- panic, fail the QTE, right option- i thought i was screwed, left option- take me back to reality, right option- Octavio needs me.

 

In the dream realm choose the top option- so you’re a parasite.

 

As Octavio in jail, choose the options, right option- maybe, top option twice- the silent option twice.

 

As Fran is being escorted to her execution, choose the options, left option- gonna kill you too, top option- you’re gonna die here, fail the QTE.

 

Back to Octavio in the cell, choose the options, top option twice- the silent option twice, right option twice- you can't kill me and guess we’ll find out.

 

Back to Fran on her execution choose the options, right option three times- he’ll be fine, I deserved better and tediore’s gonna rule the world, left option- and my sponsorbot.

 

As Anu in Octavio’s body choose the options, top option- panic, left option twice- horrible and i don't remember, top option- i wasn't a good sister, left option- to be heard. 

 

As Fran in the retro 16 bit battle, pick the options, first option- I’m sick of you, defend, item, 1st choice- anger kicks ass.

 

As Octavio holding himself hostage against the 2 soldiers, choose the options, left option twice- I’m not messing around here and i want my sister.

 

After the soldiers you bump into Bivington Bradwick choose the top option- the silent option, left option- shoot him.

 

When Fran and Octavio are in Susan's office, fail the QTE, top option- reflect on your choices. 

 

When Fran and Octavio find Anu choose the options, top option- push louie into guard, right option- protect anu, bottom option twice- consciousness is relative and we have to save the world. 

 

On the way to stop Susan and her plan choose the options, top option twice- the silent option twice, bottom option twice- being closed is a door’s job and do it for me, left option twice- our success was us and i need you.

 

In the final confrontation against Susan, choose the options, left option- reunite the shard, bottom option twice- we are complete and uh save us please?, right option twice- you’ve lost your mind and guess I’ve never murdered anyone, left option- get very personal (this may need to change based on what you said in Chapter 3, not 100% sure), right option- bio grapher (this may need to change based on what you said in Chapter 3, not 100% sure), left option three times- 5ish i lost count, atlas and saving Octavio from the streets, right option twice- you loved me and reach for Anu.

 

During the bad ending with Fran not surviving pick the bottom option- I hope heaven is one big orgy.

Ending 5: Neutral ending, 3 main characters live, Louie does not

For this play through, I had the "hope" that I could replay just chapter 4 and 5 using the guide and get the ending but that didn't work. I'm curious if play 3-5 or even just 2-5 since that was the point where the skateboard rating came in to the story would work to get the ending however I caved and did all 5 chapters again following the guide. However, turning off dialogue and QTE timers worked really well here to let most of play through happen without me having to pay attention to lengthy non-interactive sections again (would have been nice to have been able to skip the replay cut-scenes) 

 

Complete OTEs unless guide here says to fail. (turning off dialogue and QTE timers works here)

 

Episode 1 

 

As Anu pick the bottom options twice yes and like the sound of success. 

 

When Timm-e comes in, pick the following options. the right choice- not good for some people, the bottom option- fine you got me, and then the right option- they’re innocent wild creatures.

 

As Octavio pick the following options, left option- tacos are my everything, bottom option- I wasn't scared, right option- others value it, bottom option- Could be good for business.

 

As Fran pick the following options, left option- I'll be out of debt soon, right option- I'm sure they’ll pay.

 

When the customer comes in and orders fail the first QTE for no particular reason but I didn't mean and I doubt it affects any score but you never know.

 

As Anu in Rhy’s office pick the following options, bottom option- Not sorry, right option- appeal to his heart, bottom option- It phases things and then shoot the jacket that's on the left side.

 

As Octavio on the way to the assassination job pick the options, the right option twice- killing is wrong and is that all, the left option twice- do you like your job and pizza delivery, and finally the right option- somebody stole it.

 

On the way to Paco's tacos, pick the right option- yes but for my own sake.

 

As Fran when being threatened by Hank, pick the options, pick the right choice twice- surely we can talk this out and let's not get violent, then the left option- this is your last chance and then pick to let him to chill.

 

As Anu when with Phuong, pick the options, the right option- today is not my day, the left option- sweet but careless.

 

As Octavio after hacking the radio pick the right option- we will fight them off.

 

As Fran when speaking with Reba- pick the left option- why mess with perfection, then go around the shop activating everything, so it counts for giving Reba the whole tour.

 

When Reba wants to go in the back of the shop pick the following options, the left option- there’s no damage and choose to let Reba in.

 

As Octavio and his friends against the invasion pick the options, everybody hide, the right option- do you know what hide means, choose Danniele to help you take down the commander.

 

When you have the brock gun choose the right option- help me help you, and then in the shooting sequence don't shoot the soldiers and finally the left option- I wish I ate more tacos.

 

As Anu when meeting Stapleface choose the bottom option- accept your fate, the top option twice- I think I misread things and screams internally and the right option twice killing isn't heroic and happy reborn day.

 

As Fran when Octavio and Louie turn up pick the options, the right option- huh a kill bot, the bottom option- you led them here, the right option- he left a few minutes ago, the left option- this store is all I have.

 

Episode 2 

 

At the start of episode 2 pick the options, the bottom option twice- You’re alive and I'm sorry Fran, the right option- I'm worried about you, the left option three times- I’ve had a day, I'm Fran and maybe you are different, the right option- he’s Mr not stealing and choose tediore comms Octavio’s pocket.

 

Pick the options- the left option- we can prevent deaths, the top option- do it for the shop, the left option- thanks i love this score.

 

Once you are in the sewers pick the options, the left option- Roger ten four hotel bravo, then pick Octavio’s plan.

 

Beat the badass superfan in vaultlanders first time.

 

When you are watching the soldiers with the vault key pick the options, the left option- we can use these guards, the right option- we gotta move now.

 

After running from the guardians, pick the option, the left option- we’ve come too far.

 

As anu when you activate the pedestal FAIL the QTE that shows up.

 

When the devourer shows up, choose the options, the right option- this is my fault, the bottom option- your breath stinks, the left option- im no loser, the right option- maybe there's hope for us.

 

When you are planning to distract the devourer to get the green crystal choose the options, Fran to freeze it, the right option- no rest for the wicked, the left option- You got this bro, the right option three times- Can you try that again, special delivery and I'm sorry, the left option- I have no idea.

 

After the fight with the devourer back in the sewers pick the option, the right option- we should be careful.

 

Episode 3 

 

At the start of Episode 3 pick the options, the left option- tell him the ugly truth, the bottom option- it's ours not yours.

 

As Anu choose to shoot Octavio, then choose the left option- yes

 

After putting the shard in the device choose Fran to shoot Anu, then the left option twice- I knew it would work and sure what you said, the bottom option- investments.

 

As Octavio dealing with the sink or swim guard- choose the options, the right option- I'm very important and then refuse the money.

 

In the waiting room of sink or swim choose the options, the bottom option- it’ll change the world, the right option- don't trust him, the bottom option- deflect with questions, the top option- you gotta soup it up now.

 

After sabotaging Pierre's invention choose the options, the left option- we took care of it, the right option- he’s a snake in the grass, the left option twice- I did it and I didn't mean to.

 

As Anu when pitching the device on sink or swim, pick the options, the right option- end global violence, choose yes, the bottom choice twice- the hip-o-cradic-matic and it's our wondrous imaginations.

 

After rescuing Anu from the sharks pick the options, the left option- it should've been me, the bottom option twice- I feel the same way and hug Fran, the right option twice- how's that for skateboards and you could be better.

 

Back in the ruins of Frans shop pick the options, the right option- we can rebuild right here, the left option twice- let me do it and frogurt machines, the right option- you were my first love.

 

As Anu in the morgue- choose the options, the left option- better world enterprises, the top option- lives are on the line.

 

Episode 4 

 

At the start of episode 4, choose the options, the bottom option twice- I'm about to die and I can do this, then choose fist to knockout the keeper.

 

When Octavio and Anu are back in the newly bought frogurt shop choose the options, top option- Frans frogurt, the left option- solarium and choose super sciency innovation and fail the two slapping QTE’S.

 

When Fran comes back to the shop with Fergus choose the options, the top options- I know what you mean, the right option- tons of usable experience, the top option- yeah I screwed up.

 

When Brock the gun shows up, choose the options, the left option- can I get you a frogurt and choose to comfort Octavio, choose the left option twice- I feel weird and you're hurting me, the right option- please don't hurt her, the bottom option- we are terrible with money, the left option- anu did die.

 

When you are at the angel investors place, choose the options, the left option twice- what's the party for and the killbot is one of us.

 

As Octavio at the VIP party choose the options, the left option- dreams come true, the top option- tacos.

 

As Anu in the research room, choose the left option- state of the art.

 

As Fran in another new frogurt shop, choose the options, the right option- I’ve never boned Octavio, the top option twice- mecha rocket freeze punch and the water tower, the left option- embarrassed, the top option- this is a trap isn't it.

 

Back to Octavio in the VIP party choose the options, the bottom option- had some help, choose no to refuse to use the belcher, the right option- I don't have to prove I'm cool.

 

Back to Anu in the research room, choose the right option- you tricked me.

 

Back to Octavio, choose the right option- you tricked me.

 

As Fran make sure you beat the badass superfan at vaultlanders, then choose the right option- the kids are in trouble.

 

As Octavio locked up by Anu- choose the options, the right option- Fran will save us, the bottom option twice- you're in a cage too and hey I'm a threat.

 

When Susan turns up fail the QTE to use Frans weapons. Choose the options, the right option- just let us live, the bottom option- I won't help you.

 

At the conference with all the other CEOs of the main corporations, choose the options, the bottom option twice- let's make a deal and it's a group effort, the top option- you will pay for this.

 

Episode 5 

 

In Episode 5 as anu as a jabber pick the following options, the left option- help me, bottom option- most stressful day of my life, right option- stop playing games, left option- my friends need me.

 

In the dream realm choose the right option- you care about the world.

 

As Octavio in jail, choose the options, left option- yes, bottom option- being a failure, left option- I'm worthless.

 

As Fran is being escorted to her execution, choose the options, the bottom option- I'm not scared of death, left option- this isn't so bad.

 

Back to Octavio in the cell, choose the options, left option- why bother, bottom option- you did me a favour, the left option- susan wants me alive, bottom option- fire warning shot.

 

Back to Fran on her execution choose the options, left option- don't you touch him, then choose the next 3 choices i deserved better, my friends deserve better, and my sponsor bot.

 

As Anu in Octavio’s body choose the options, bottom option- scientifically speaking, right option- overbearing, left option- i don't remember, bottom option twice- his dreams were here and my trust.

 

As Fran in the retro 16 bit battle, pick the options, first option- you're wrong about me, skill, assist and I control my anger.

 

As Octavio holding himself hostage against the 2 soldiers, choose the options, the left option twice- I'm not messing around here and my sister.

 

After the soldiers you bump into Bivington Bradwick choose the right option- traumatised, and then choose to ignore him.

 

When Fran and Octavio are in Susan's office, choose the bottom option- hug Octavio.

 

When Fran and Octavio find Anu choose the options, the top option- push Louie into the guard, then choose to tackle her, left option- test me, bottom option- we have to save the world.

 

On the way to stop Susan and her plan choose the options, left option- direct orders, bottom option- hug, top option- use echo-dex voice, bottom option- do it for me, left option- our success was us and bottom option- embrace.

 

In the final confrontation against Susan, choose the options, right option- reject the shard, left option twice- least I aint killing you and yes, top option- restrain panic, left option- we are.

Since I fell most people get Best Ending on their first play through, I thought I would just put these notes to the bottom. Bellow is a full walkthrough for getting Best Ending, if just just need New Business you can replay Episode 5 at the ending and that should be enough to get it to pop. 

 

Episode 1

 

At the start of episode 1 as Anu pick the options, bottom option- yes, top option- yes. 

 

When Timm-e comes in, pick the following options, bottom option- Timm-e that’s shameful, left option- yes, right option twice- gasp empty (lie) and they’re innocent wild creatures.

 

As octavio pick the following options, left option- tacos are my everything, bottom option- i wasn't scared, right option- others value it, bottom option- could be good for business. 

 

As Fran pick the following options, bottom option- you’re not helping sponsor bot, left option- old lady?

 

As Anu in Rhy’s office pick the following options, Right option- just a misunderstanding, left option- give him the hard sell, bottom option- it phases things, shoot the picture frame on the desk in the middle when you are giving the choice to show off the device.

Back to Fran on her execution choose the options, left option- don't you touch him, left option twice- susan is still alive, my friends are gonna die, right option- and my temper.

 

As Anu in Octavio’s body choose the options, right option twice- listen to me self and overbearing, left option- i don't remember, top option- i wasn't a good sister, left option- to be heard.

 

As Fran in the retro 16 bit battle, pick the options, the fourth option- anger kicks ass, skill, assist, 2nd option- i control my anger.

 

As Octavio holding himself hostage against the 2 soldiers, choose the options, top option- mad dog them, bottom option- i want a compliment.

 

After the soldiers you bump into Bivington Bradwick choose the options, left option- pissed, right option- ignore him.

 

When Fran and Octavio are in Susans office, choose the bottom option- hug octavio.

 

In the dream realm at the end fail the QTE.

 

When Fran and Octavio find Anu choose the options, bottom option- just put the gun down, right option- protect Anu, left option- test me, right option- we have to stop Susan.

 

On the way to stop Susan and her plan choose the options, bottom option- you’re in charge, left option twice- then we’ll celebrate and we’ve survived worse, bottom option- do it for me, left option- our success was us, bottom option- embrace.

 

In the final confrontation against susan, choose the options, right option- reject the shard, bottom option- i hope this hurts, left option three times- yes, i like this gun and we are.

 

During the good ending choose the right option- it’s better this way.

my problem is I can’t get Octo to die on my “Best Ending” save file. I replayed chapter 5, following most rude options, selfish etc. but each time it gives me the Best Ending with everyone alive. Not sure what to do

Well I hope the guide above might help you get Oct to die! It's one of the easier ones. JUST to confirm, when you say replayed Chapter 5, you replayed all of Episode 5 right? I keep getting confused myself with the words. Small chapters in each Episode, just making sure you were replaying the whole Episode 5 and not just the chapters 5 and 6. 

 

When I got to the end without Octo my numbers were:
Skateboard 41%
57% anu/fran
45% anu/oct
33% oct/fran

 

In the guide above, I just sat the controller down for the nearly all of the options so that meant QTEs would have nearly all failed and top option would have been the auto pick. I know you are trying to get to lower than 50% on Anu / Oct so maybe you just had a high percent from chapter 4? WORSE case scenario you could try Episode 4 and 5 using this text guide. I don't see how you couldn't get a dead Oct doing this:

 

Complete all OTEs unless otherwise told to fail it. 

Episode 4

At the start of episode 4, Fail the QTE in punching the coffin, choose the options, top option- hang up, Fail the next 4 QTE’s, left option- i like punching stuff, fail the first and third QTE and then choose scalpel.

When Octavio and Anu are back in the newly bought frogurt shop choose the options, bottom option- global-compu-core, right option twice- granite counter and state of the art security system, fail the first 2 QTE’s.

When Fran comes back to the shop with Fergus choose the options, right option- behold sexiness, bottom option- observe the butt, left option- i didn't screw up.

When you are at the angel investors place, choose the options, bottom option- who’s going to be there, right option- he isn't one of us.

As Octavio at the VIP party choose the options, bottom option- in your face, left option- Booze.

As Anu in the research room, choose the left option- state of the art.

As Fran in another new frogurt shop, choose the options, bottom option- i’ve never boned anu, right option- mecha centripidal force typhoon, bottom option twice- aquarium, and weirdly aroused, right option- im in.

Back to Octavio in the VIP party choose the options, left option twice- they both say yes.

Back to Anu in the research room, choose the bottom option- let the experiment begin.

Back to Octavio, choose the bottom option- celebrate.

As Fran make sure you lose to the badass superfan at vaultlanders, fail the second QTE, then choose the bottom option- give me a go.

As Octavio locked up by Anu- choose the options, the left option twice- we are VVVIP and you don't get it, top option- you’re not so tough.

When Susan turns up fail the next 2 QTE’s, Choose the top option twice- come and get it and panic.

At the conference with all the other CEO of the main corporations, choose the options, right option- someone stop her, top option- let us go, fail the QTE, top option- you will pay for this, fail the next 4 QTE’s. 

 

Episode 5

In episode 5 as anu as a jabber pick the following options, top option- panic, fail the QTE, top option- I was staring failure in the face, left option- I thought I was screwed, bottom option- try to tackle spirit, top option- I need to stop Susan. 

In the dream realm choose the top option- so you’re a parasite.

As Octavio in jail, choose the options, top option- the silent option, left option- being stupid, bottom option- i’m not very important. 

As Fran is being escorted to her execution, choose the options, top option twice- mouth fart and you’re gonna die, fail the QTE.

Back to Octavio in the cell, choose the options, bottom right- totally bro, right option- you monster, left option twice- susan wants me alive and i’m in charge. 

Back to Fran on her execution choose the options, top option- no our sexual tension, left option- susan is still alive, right option twice- tediore is going to rule the galaxy and and my temper, fail the 2nd, 3rd and 4th QTE’s. 

As Anu in Octavio’s body choose the options, top option- panic, bottom option twice- protective and he was being immature, left option- his friends were here, top option- to be seen. 

As Fran in the retro 16 bit battle, pick the options, 4th option- anger kicks ass, run, item, first option- anger kicks ass and fail the next 2 QTE’s.

As Octavio holding himself hostage against the 2 soldiers, choose the options, top option- mad dog them, bottom option- i want a compliment.

After the soldiers you bump into Bivington Bradwick choose the bottom option- vengeful?, left option- shoot him.

When Fran and Octavio are in Susan's office, fail the QTE, choose the right option- release the hostage.

As Anu at the end of the dream sequence fail the QTE.

When Fran and Octavio find Anu choose the right option 4 times- you’re not stopping me, protect Anu, I'm definitely me and we have to stop susan.

On the way to stop Susan and her plan choose the options, bottom option- you’re in charge, right option twice- i’ll finish it and title of our sex tape?, fail the next 6 QTE’s, right option three times- it’s an alien in your body, you’re too far gone and keep fighting, 

In the final confrontation against susan, fail the QTE, choose the options, left option- reunite the shard, top option- this will hurt, right option- you’re killing it, left option- i don’t need guns, fail the QTE, left option- i swear i killed someone, right option- always talk louder, top option- the hermes, fail the QTE, left option- 5ish i lost count, fail the QTE, left option- atlas, left option- saving Octavio from the streets, right option- you loved me, left option- reach for the shard.

During the bad ending with Anu not surviving pick the bottom option- i don't even like frogurt.

Restart the last chapter 6 of episode 5, choose the following options- right option- reject the shard, bottom option- i hope this hurts, right option- no, bottom option- im a badass, top option- fake panic.

During the bad ending with Octavio not surviving, pick the left option- it doesn't get easier.

For my part, I had the neutral ending, the ending where Fran and Anu died, but I couldn't make Octavio die...

 

I had to start a whole game again, I'm in chapter 3 and anu & octavio are at 0% in their relationship, but it disgusts me with the game to have to redo everything just for an end because by changing From the dialogues in chapter 5 I come across either the dead dead ending or the neutral ending...

Ugh it's rediculous! The Neutral was the one I hated doing the most. I tried doing it just Episodes 4 and 5 but that gave me one of the endings I already had, was so frustrated I don't even remember which one I got so started back at Episode 1. The tip I posted about turning off the timer for dialogue and QTEs made it *NEARLY* stomach-able. I turned down the volume and watched shows and did other stuff and just glanced down at my phone from time to time to see that it was waiting on me so was nice to not be forced to listen to it all over and over and over again.

UGH! I remember seeing your posts on the other threads so I know you've been through a ringer here. Part of me really thinks that picking up from Episode 2 since thats when the skateboards come in would actually work, but I recall that on my original play through my Episode 2 had a 100% skateboarding rating but of course no way of knowing if Episode 1 choices influenced a starting point for Episode 2 ratings. I was annoyed Ep 4 and 5 wasn't enough and HOPE that someone TRIES a Ep 3 or Ep 2 start and reports back success/failure. 

BUT, MAINLY I came to reply to cheer you on! Looking and your trophy card and completions YOU GOT THIS! It might bump you up to 92% completion lol, pretty impressive! If you glanced at the above and didn't dig in to the detail, just wanted to point out the bits about turning off the timers for QTE and dialogue choices, HUGE time saver. I used remote play on my iPhone with a Backbone controller add on and took care of HOURS of other tasks while the game largely played out without my attention. I think I got through the whole second season of Mythic Quest and some photoshop work while doing my replay. LOL

So, just something I wanted to share. I got the Octavio dies ending by doing a bit of chapter 1 (I started at 1-3 just to get the Claptrap vaultlander and retire for tomorrow), jumped to Chapter 5 (so Brock and Keeper were killed for me), and followed the steps for the Fran dies ending in the first post. There were people who said they couldn't get that ending, and here's how I got it.

I followed the choices for Octavio dying but instead i got Neutral Ending.

So you definitely don't need 2 different full playthroughs for Best and Neutral endings

That is awesome albeit a bit bizarre. Just makes me think there is a bit of randomness or certainly not 100% clarity on what defines the %s and skateboard ratings. I wasn't unable to get neutral with both last episodes not being enough but what a time saver for you not having to go back far to get Neutral!

So, i replayed Episode 5 three times trying to get Octavio killed. Failed. One Best ending, two Neutral Endings.

Then i decided to choose your choices to get Fran killed and boom. Octavio died 

 

Only ending i am missing now is Fran's death and i am out of ideas

 

And it makes no sense at all. I watched the video with all the choices made in episode 5. The results in video and mine were

I am the opposite, I tried replaying chapter 5 three times with 3 different walkthroughs/videos for best ending and kept getting Fran's death.

my skateboard rating dropped to 48% on all of them, it doesn't make sense after making different choices.

Hey @CommanderClif. I was able to get all of the endings by just replaying Chapter 5 on my best ending save file. I was extremely relieved not to have to play through the whole game again. I would recommend playing through Episode 5 (while following your guide for each ending, starting from Episode 5) before considering a full repeat playthrough. I've finished the game now and am so relieved to be able to delete it from my console.

I'm trying to get the other endings I've missed, and the game won't seem to give me anything but the good/best case ending or the Anu death ending.  I was a little short of 50% in the Anu/Fran relationship, so I replayed from Episode 5 Ch. 4 and made a few different choices, which then bumped up their relationship to 52% (the other two %s were 65 and 66), which made every relationship above 50%.  My Skateboard rating was 82%.  After that, I was thinking: great, now I just have to re-do Ch. 6 and just fail all of the QTEs to drop my Skateboard rating down below 75%.  

 

Nope.  Replayed Ch. 6, failed all QTEs the game allowed me to fail without a game over screen, and my end game Skateboard rating was EXACTLY THE SAME AT 82%! 

 

So WTF does one have to do to drop the Skateboard rating below 75% to get the neutral ending??

Sucks! But like my playthrough of Episodes 5 and 6, I'm not sure that goes back far enough to get a neutral ending. Choices have to be made further back like at least Episode 3 but I said the hell with possibly having to do it again and went back to Episode 1 since for all I know, Skateboard rating could begin counting before it even gets mentioned by Louie. On my Episode 5 and 6 play through for neutral I ended up with:

Skateboard 35%
68%
38%
62%

And then after doing the whole game from the beginning again I got:

Skateboard 36%

It's kind of dumb that literally none of the QTEs from Ch.6 affects anything.   Worst it did one time was maybe drop the Skateboard rating from 82% down to 80%, but it could have also been a dialogue choice that did that.  I decided to just start a whole new game over from the beginning, following the video link to the YouTuber you had posted.  Got through the first Episode late last night, going to keep trudging along this evening.  I might be able to get the other two death endings with one of my existing save files.  I am okay with going back to Chapter 4

You could also include which shard choice you're supposed to make (it is assumed the merge option, but still...).  Also, when you're given the choice between Atlas, Maliwan or Tediore (?), you must choose Atlas or else you get a Game Over screen, which is not mentioned in your guide (update on this: it seems you will get a game over if you answer incorrectly 3 times, but because letting the dialogue run through yielded two correct answers in my update below, it allowed me to pick Tediore - the incorrect answer - on this question).  

 

BTW, my stats at the end were:

 

Skateboard: 82% - somehow... ??? I literally just put the controller down the entire Episode, and only passed the ones that would have resulted in a Game Over screen or forced you to complete (like the slapping face).  So something is ****ed up there.

Anu/Fran: 42%

Anu/Ock: 45%

Fran/Ock: 23%

 

Update:

 

So, I duplicated my save file where I got the neutral ending, and tried the Ock death ending starting from the beginning of Episode 5 again.  I ended up getting the Fran death ending instead for some reason, but that's not the strangest thing that happened.  I have a feeling that the game will break previous decisions you've made or something because two things happened:

 

1. At the end of the game, when I was faced with the question of what the device name was, I had selected the Hip-O-Cratic Matic just like the neutral guide did, but because I let the dialogue run through, it auto-selects Hermes... the wrong answer... right? NOPE! The game thought I had chosen Hermes, so Anu went through the "You were listening" dialogue.   

 

2. When Reba's sister comes in at the part where Fran is going to be executed, she says, "I know what you did to my sister", implying that I had killed Reba earlier on.  I had not.  I have always made the choice to let Reba go, and allow her into the back room in Episode 1.  Even the neutral guide made that selection.  That had happened once before on my very first run - let Reba do her thing, let her into the back room, etc... and then later on when Anu searches for parts to make the healing raygun, there Reba was... frozen... with Hank broken to pieces at her feet.   

 

I have a feeling that part of the problem with people not getting the correct endings is that the game will break previous decisions all willy nilly, and you end up with out-of-whack results by the end of the game.  So now I am left with seemingly no way to get the Ock death ending with out starting the game all over again from the beginning since the Ock death ending got me the Fran death instead.   I will try doing the Fran death ending to see if I get the Ock death instead, but I am not hopeful. The endgame stats when I got the Fran ending were:

 

Skateboard: 58%

Anu/Fran: 57%

Anu/Ock: 75%

Fran/Ock: 52%

 

Update 2:

 

Finally got the Ock death ending.  I used the Fran death guide here, and just made a few different choices (ones that helped the Anu/Fran % and ones that hurt the Anu/Ock + Fran/Ock %s).  Plat done, now I can finally move on.

FWIW, I was able to take the default chapter 5 start state, as if starting a new save file and using the predetermined choices the game picks for you up to that point (maybe at random?) and got Oct to die just be replaying chapter 5 using this guide. I accidentally overwrote my initial best ending choices when going back to get the Claptrap vaultlander I missed in Episode 1, so I couldn't use my own choices. I then reloaded the last chapter of Episode 5 and got Anu to die.

 

I then replayed Episode 5 again (still using those same predetermined game chosen choices) and followed the best ending + new business guide and managed to get fran's death ending on that same episode 5 start state chosen by the game.

 

The only ending I need now is the neutral one. I will try just running through episode 5 with your guide and see if it works. I missed the skateboard rating trophy by 2% on my initial run, so I'll likely have to do an entire playthrough again to get that. I don't think the game allows for it even when making the best episode 5 choices just by replaying that chapter only.

 

Your remote play via the phone idea with timers off is genius. I let the game play on my phone (turned the always show controls setting on) while working and muddled through the replays making choices while it waited for my input over the last few days without losing more time at home that could be spent on other things and other games

Glad you liked that too! Certainly one of the time savers for sure. Let us know how your Neutral attempt goes, I tried with just 5 and 6 and my skateboard rating was 35% but a couple of the others were a bit high. My 1 - 6 was a 36% skateboard.

YEAH, so this does seem to be tricky to give as a guild to people since I THINK these answers need to relate back to choices you made in the previous chapters. If just replaying the end chapters, and going by the guide that picked the answer to begin with, this should probably be highlighted as a "your choice goes here" so that its more universal eh?

Man, I got the neutral ending on my own and then found this guide and followed the Best ending step by step and got it. Now I've tried Octavio's death ending and Fran's death ending, step by step, and I just keep getting the best ending. I'm so burnt out on this game I don't even give a shit anymore if I got the platinum. I seen some people say that the decision making stuff is broken and I see it come end game when I say something opposite of what I should be saying and the game still registers it as the correct response. I've done two full playthroughs of this game and replayed episode 5 7 times now. I'm done with this game and don't give two shits about the platinum trophy.
