Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster coming to PS4 in Spring of 2023

Honestly, I am all for this, wanted to play some of these for a while now, but I held out for a console release of the Pixel Remasters. So I am really hoping.

The Steam versions essentially already have Platinum trophies (obtain all other achievements), so they would have to put more effort into NOT including a platinum as opposed to including it.

So they must have decided they do want money. Truly the most baffling decision I have ever seen from SE to not release this on the console where FF is most popular.

That's really nice to hear! Thanks for the info! Not played them on Steam nor looked at their achievements tbh. Been waiting for Playstation versions since that first trailer got me all hyped up and then down again after seeing "Mobile and PC" or whatever it said lol

They will probably have individual trophy lists. Looked up achievements for the pc version and ff1 has its own list. Good luck we'll have to get all treasure if they use this list.

As someone who has already gotten 100% on Steam with these, I can assure you that the lists are not as daunting as they may seem.

 

One of the Quality of Life improvements is that you have access to a map at all times that even shows the treasure chests. This feature also tells you how many treasures there are and how many you've already obtained. Not only does it tell you this in regard to the area you're currently in, but you can scroll/browse all areas of the game you've already visited to see where you're missing chests.

 

The Bestiary in each game also makes it a walk in the park due to the fact that it literally tells you where to find enemies you're missing.

 

Certain ones like FF6 have missables, but none that are too bad. So many information exists about these games that you can remove all guess work.

I can't wait for this! I am ashamed to say that I'm a Final Fantasy fan and have played nearly every game in the series except FFVI. Why? I have no idea but now I have my motivation! 😁

As long as it's not overpriced as its Steam counterpart, hopefully there's an all in one version or hope they are all in one, I don't mind having one trophy list really doesn't bother me, just having these timeless classic on PS4/5 is enough for me, FFIV is my favorite.

Seriously, don't do the tease. Been waiting for ages to re-play these games with some trophies involved!

 

EDIT: They could easily make each game it's own Platinum. If it's a single collection of 6 games, they could just have the individual game list install when that select game gets chosen. Should be simple actually for Square Enix to do!
