About time! Been waiting a while for these to reach PlayStation. Getting plats in all six would be awesome, but I'd be fine if they go a different route. Not the end of the world. I've grown to appreciate platinum-less 100%s in recent years, and I've never had too much of an issue with combined lists.

Was going to finally start XIV after I finish Crisis Core, which I'm getting for Christmas. It's going to be so tempting to delay my start of XIV to play through these instead ? But looks like I got a lot of FF ahead of me before XVI.

Please allow us to buy them all as a pack at a reasonable price.

All work and no reasonable price makes Jelly an annoyed fucker.

I've never heard of these potential ports, the thought of them makes me sad

Only “potential” to my wishful thinking that is?

I never fully understood distribution of FF between Nintendo and Sony platforms. Sometimes good things happen though! Such as the original Crystal Chronicles which was a GCN game.

Wait so there is no "Get all Gau's rages" achievement/trophy in the Steam version?

No, there is not. You only have to learn 50 out of, what, 250 or so? Not bad at all.

Here are the Steam achievements, minus the story-related ones.

I played II and III when these were released on Steam, they're excellent remasters which hit on the perfect combination of a nostalgic look and feel. Some points of information for anyone who's curious:

  • The game banners and achievement icons on Steam look great, so assuming they use the same images for trophies, no need to worry about those.
  • If you're interested in FFVI, the single most important question on most people's minds is this: Will I be able to suplex a train? If the Steam patches carry over onto the console releases, yes. Yes you will.
  • One potential downside, the default text font on the PC releases is kinda ass and doesn't look very good. - it looks like the crappy font from the mobile releases. On PC this wasn't too much of an issue because people published better looking font mods right away to give the text a more classic look, which I took advantage of. But if they use the shit font on consoles, you're gonna be stuck with it.

I think I'm one of the few people that actually enjoyed ff2.

I liked it! The pixel remaster was the first time I ever played it, I think it's been tweaked to be a bit more user friendly than the original version and subsequent GBA/etc. ports.

It's just a matter of which platform negotiates an outright exclusivity or timed exclusivity contract with Square.
