Sparklebun1996
Good god this shit is ridiculous. I thought maybe I accidentally started on the highest difficulty or something but nope. I'm just getting bombarded by planes and jeeps near constantly. I physically can't keep up due to ammo drain. It's really sucking the fun out. kkulifay
When I approach a base or outpost, I start with long range tactics and take out snipers/scouts first. Then, stealth around the perimeter to slowly work towards the epicenter. Then, when you’ve found a nice hiding spot, you plan your attack with an aggressive chain to really stir the hornet’s nest. That’s when things get fun! It’s usually a multi-step process that applies to most of Far Cry games. Later on, you will get overpowered LMGs and snipers. Both human and animal allies will make things easier eventually too. Don’t forgot about the co-op element. It’s very very fun playing with a buddy. Keep at it, the formula will come natural after awhile. Far Cry 5 has a wonderful progression system too. I felt extremely overpowered more than halfway thru the platinum. DizzyDavidson
I was thinking the same thing when I started. It’s not just the outposts that are a problem but just wandering around in the world a random plane flies by and you’re screwed. Unfortunately you just have to deal with that until you upgrade your skills, unlock better weapons and AI partners to take them down.
blazkowicz6
Same. I was so mad at the beginning wondering how does the cult have fighter planes.

I'm talking about just randomly walking around getting attacked every 30 seconds.

It's even worse when you're talking to a quest giver and get randomly interrupted by nearby chaos happening. It will get a bit better when you conquer territories and get some allies but this random enemy spam at the start is really shit. That's why I'll never replay this game on console, I've had my fill on PC.

My advice - Stay off roads. Hide for cover when you hear a plane. If plane spots you, try to light it up with LMG asap to take it down, then flee area where baddies got called in.
Floorkiller74
The Planes just suck. The either see you hiding and attack, or they just fly around over you endlessly while you attempt to wait them out.. I used to shoot them down but they would have another right behind it. I got to the point it was quicker to quit the game and restart than deal with the planes. That was really my only major complaint about the base game. DanteIshimura
Yeah the constant enemy presence is really killing the game. After really enjoying Far Cry 3, this feels broken. The story seems interesting, the characters are performed really well and likable and dislikeable from a well written perspective, but the gameplay is just tedious and I'm only 3 hours in. I can't even do the fishing sections without getting shot to crap. And when driving and a civvy AI runs right in front of my car, I get the message don't kill civvies. Then I was just about to get one of those peggie stashes near Nicks farm and the person holding the quest gets killed by a black bear. I get a message saying don't kill civvies once again, and no idea if that stash it now gone for good. Had to switch off after that. I got the dlc done which was a mixture of crap and boring, but was hoping the main game would be so much better. What a shame man.

What a shame man. once you've completed the game and completed all the out posts its a lot more calm and worlds more quiet in that regard Ubisoft just loves too throw lots of shitty boring enemies in far cry driving tanker trucks and quads just gets annoying after while especially on hardest difficulty where explosions are so overpowered

I was finally able to enjoy the map and go about doing stuff. For a wile I even opted to use the Mars weapons which I didn't want to do as to avoid breaking the immersion feeling. But it ticked me off and so I went for it. Got rid of them again though and now back to Earth weapons lol. I'm loving these bunker puzzles where you get perk points and money. Some have been great fun so far. Wish they didn't hide the collectibles though. I loved that about Far Cry 3 in that you can buy maps and reveal all collectibles and then go get them at your own pace, rather than the stop start of checking a video guide. So haven't bothered with the lighters and magazines yet, other than those I came across by accident. Loving the driving though.
