Astro's Playroom 0% -> 92%

Assassin's Creed Chronicles: Trilogy  46% -> 100%

 

 

Took advantage of my brand new aircraft carrier-sized piece of hardware to add a whole heap of easy trophies, thanks to Astro's Playroom. Mostly fun, although some of the nostalgia was admittedly slightly wasted on me since I was fashionably late to the Sony party. All I need for the 100% there is the speedrun trophies, can't quite nail the jumps on one of the courses so a fair bit away from the time target at the moment, but if 46% of people with the game can do it, it can't be all that bad. Practice, dear boy. 

 

Also polished off the AC Chronicles trophies, the Russia pack was by far the easiest trophy list, but also the hardest game, so it ended up being a bit of a struggle in places. The checkpoint system was fairly generous (a bit too generous in places, found myself having to restart a couple of chapters through my unseen run) so got through the worst parts eventually. Generally enjoyed all three games, the stealth-heavy gameplay is what I'd actually imagined Assassin's Creed games to be like before I'd played one.

 

Decided to finish off Fallout 4 before moving on to something a bit meatier as I'm just one single trophy short of the 100%. I'd hoped to make a start last night, but had a corrupted update file problem to deal with. I was slightly too drunk to delve into the issue at the time, but we're up and running now. I basically need to grind out 100k arcade tokens for the last trophy, managed to get up to about 20k a few weeks ago before getting pissed off with it and moving onto something else. Back to it now and trying to master the incredibly finicky conveyor belt duplication glitch, mostly to save myself from the horrible arcade music. Hopefully once I nail the timings involved it'll be out of the way reasonably quickly, then it'll be onto Horizon Zero Dawn and Ultra Hard mode over the next week.

Ended up being pretty busy week with work and gym so ended up only getting a little time in, even installed Spider-man but never got around to starting it.  Did however manage to revive God of war: Ragnarok and start getting my completion in the realms growing, got one to 97% leaving some bosses for when my gears a little more improved. Haven’t been using a guide yet, see how far I can get without one for once. 

 

I also restarted Final Fantasy XII:TZA and with a bit more grinding at the beginning have managed a few more trophy story and ability related. So far I’m not smitten like the other titles have had me, in fact I’m probably starting to bucket it with ARR from FFXIV quality.

 

This weeks goals is to continue completion of the realms in GoW:R now I’m on a roll and see where FFXII story takes me. I always have Spider Man in the wings, probably trot him out after GoW is done.

Progress this week:

Persona 4 Golden - PSVITA - 80% - Finally some trophies! So for Rise's trophy... I was already at 293 lines and totally worried but then it just popped in the middle of a fight with lines I had already got, so it totally doesn't make sense? lol While farming lines I got quite lucky with my shuffle times and got a bunch of skill cards which left me with only 3 missing that I got using the coffee and then I did the visit Nanako 3 times trophy. So now I'm already in true ending route and missing 2 trophies on complete persona compendium and beat Margareth trophy, I am a little bit behind on SLinks so gotta be careful. Can't wait to finish this one!

Senran Kagura Estival Versus (0% -> 39%):

New vita game! Fun game so far, lots of missions to do. Easier game than what I have been attempting recently so that's been nice. Lots of trophies too so will help get to milestones lol.

 

Final Fantasy 7 Remake (74% -> 74%):

No trophy update, but on the last chapter in Hard mode. The more I play Hard mode, the more it solidifies how much I dislike the combat in the game. Game, if you want me to block and eat damage, then you need to let me heal without every little pebble thrown my way interrupting me. If you want me to dodge around, then you need to let me actually dodge and miss attacks when I roll. It's super frustrating to be chained down, then they do their little break, I go to heal, then getting interrupted and dying. Just not fun. At least I am almost done though.

 

No big update this week. Just grinding through FF7R. It's almost over though. Thank the Lord. Hopefully the VR matches aren't too bad... Bleh.

Played the original long ago and started this a few years ago as the remake version was already out. Went back to this. 
 

Gran Turismo 7 28%
 

Got this a year ago and played a bit before attempting the gold on the licenses which I got stuck on. A year later, I got the trophy for getting gold on the licenses. There were a few that were tough and each time I really was close to gold. Understanding the tracks and learning the turns, braking, corners etc. helped out. S-7 & S-10 took me the most time.

Good luck with the boss rush on Hard in FF7R, I still remember just barely beating Sephiroth's last stage. Pride and Joy though, that final virtual battle sucked. Think I did it 3 attempts; everyone talks about Bahamut being hard but I had more trouble with Levithan TBH. And your right, the hard mode really shows the cons to this style of combat. Give me my turned based FF back Square!

And the plat rarity is so high! Can't be that bad right? /s Maybe I will bail out of ch 18 and do the bosses and then go back lol.

And seriously. I am so excited for the FF pixel remasters coming out. Going to start at 1 and plat to at least 9 lol.

The accessory you get from beating Pride and Joy was quite useful as I recall against Sephiroth. I thought it was worth doing that before beating the game on Hard. Plenty have beat Hard without it though.

 

We spent all this time maxing materia and getting to level 50 - makes me wonder how they will reset us to 0 in part 2...

Yea, I def didn't have the right materia going into hard, most of the ones you def needed I hadn't leveled at all... lol.

 

And there will be no need to reset all that stuff. It is just going to be the Gold Saucer ??

Having your materia maxed or near maxed out does make a massive differance, so much so, that I genuinely found Hard mode easier than Normal.

 

(You'll likely want to do some grinding for the VR misison stupidty, Pride & Joy is no joke. Luckily you're playing the PS4 version, and don't have the do the nasty super boss the dlc added as well)

All Magic materia is maxed, Elemental is 2/3 stars, and HP+/MP+ is almost all at 4/5. They have been raised through out Hard with AP+. That should be good enough. I probably really need to redo a couple chapters to get specific materia (maybe). I also skipped side quests so missing a fair bit of weapon points too. And I will be playing the PS5 version next XD.

Week 11 Update:

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter > 100%

 

I noticed this game was going off PS Plus tomorrow, so I decided to sink my teeth into this one just before it left! It's a clever detective based walking simulator with an interesting story and characters, where you try to figure out what happened to Ethan Carter and his family (pretty obvious with the title name right?). I'd really recommend this one if you want a quick game with a murder mystery style vibe to it if you're short on time and are into this kind of thing.

Also for a game released in 2015 this game looks absolutely beautiful. Some of the areas look that good I think for most people on a quick glance they wouldn't realise it's from a game. The soundtrack accompanying this game fits really well too, with some really beautiful tracks in certain areas, and some pretty spooky ones in other areas of the game. This game is seriously dark, and it contrasts a lot with how the game uses sound at times. The voice acting of the detective you play as is also spot on, and it was a really stand out performance for me. 

 

Borderlands 2 > 27%

 

Progress on this one has been going well! It's my go to couch co-op game with my other half @rjkclarke, and we've both been loving this one. We made some more progress in the story, got over 90 side quests done, and I've been making sure to work on some of the more tricky challenges in the background, so progress is pretty steady! We hit level 30/31 last night, and we're around 75% done with the story I believe. I'm looking forward to playing this one again, and getting to try the DLC, especially the Commander Lilith DLC to see what Rob thinks about this one since he hasn't played it with only having the PS3 100%. It's going to be a few weeks before we get back to this one again sadly, and I'll really miss playing this one with him, (and seeing him obviously ?) but we'll be starting up Lord of the Rings: War in the North soon on PS3 which should be a fun 100% for both of us. 

 

Next up this week is some more God of War... I'll be starting Chains of Olympus tonight to continue scratching that God of War itch. I'm aiming for the series completion this year so with GoW1, 2 and Ragnarök done this year I'm making some decent headway! I've got Ghost of Sparta, Chains of Olympus, GoW3 Remastered and Ascension left to do. 

 

Continuing on with attacking that PS3 backlog some more boosting is potentially on the cards with spec ops in MW3, with just 2 spec ops missions to go from the base game to go, and some GTA IV if I can rope Rob into that ?.

 

And on the PS4 side of my backlog I reckon I'll also probably get back to Titanfall 2 this week, God of War has just hooked me back in again recently, so we'll see!

HZD in Ultra Hard mode isn't too difficult to do.  If you've made it to Lvl 60 and have the best armour, it's just a jaunt through the main missions to get that finish.

 

Remember, Rocket League will boost your completion a lot, shoot me a message if you want help with it.

*deep sigh of contentment* I reached 95% overall completion by finishing off what I am willing to do for Little Big Planet. Currently, there are 3 trophies left in the base game that are attainable still, there are several obtainable trophies in the DLCs too but I don't have access to those. Might clean those up at some point... maybe. 

 

Think I will do Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy next, it's been on the back burner for too long and it is about time I get to play another PS5 game.

Fell asleep before updating yesterday, but there wasn't much to update about anyway. Played more Scarlet Nexus but didn't get any more trophies in it, and then spent the weekend playing the Diablo IV and Exo Primal betas. I did make a little more progress in Just Dance 2021, but my overall % went down since I picked up Various Daylife in the current sale and started that. But I also picked up Suicide Guy Sleepin' Deeply for 17 cents thanks to BadDriver's video about it so that helped keep the drop from being too bad.

 

This week I'll keep going with Scarlet Nexus and Various Daylife, but the new PS Plus games might be too tempting so my pcg might drop even more.

After a long break I have caught backup with all the updates, congrats to everyone on their progress in the 1st quarter of the year. Wow we are almost 1/4 of the way through the year already. I feel reenergized again myself and ready to work on a few completions. Even with my account sitting still, it still went backwards due to DLC releases. 

 

Starting PCG: 63.22%

Last monthly update PCG: 62.82%

Current PCG: 62.84%

I felt I needed something to give me a kick in the pants. This game maybe took me 45 minutes to clean up. The hardest part was just getting readjusted to the control scheme. I still love the story and music in this game. It is a non plat but is worth a play through. I think it is on PS extra so it can be grabbed from there. 

 

So what are my goals moving forward. Well for now, I want to get back to 65% by May 1st. That is an increase of 2.16%. It can be done ,if I avoid my biggest sin, starting new games.

Personally I thought VR battles way harder than hard mode, Weiss is a pain ? Pride and Joy is ok actually, the problem is getting to him lol

I would have attempted the Pride and Joy set last night, but noooo apparently you have to clear every single challenge before you can. Ugh. How fucking frustrating lol.

Last period I unfortunately didn't make a lot of progress trophy wise. Partly because of time and partly because I started to replay Tomb Raider....but do read on ?

 

Gravity Rush + DLC (0/3) - PSVita - 45% => 48%

As I wrote last time i kind of suck with these challenges. Probably because I am not taking the proper time for it and accept that I must fail a couple of times before I get the hang of it. I am trying to upgrade Kat now in order to make it more simple (hopefully). Still, I do love the game!

 

Shadow of the Tomb Raider + DLC (0/7) - PS4 - 37% => 37%

I did put this one on my list to finish off for this year. Played the game 5 years ago with a blind first play through and a collectibles second one. During my hunt for the collectibles I got killed while picking up one. The game didn't register it as picked up nor did it put it back into the world. It kind of glitched out on me. Lost my interest completely. Did bought the DLC when it was in the sale and decided to replay it completely. I am now in my first play through hunting down collectibles straight away but obviously not popping any trophies.....yet. But more important; I am enjoying the game again.

 

No progress:

Strange Brigade + DLC (3/4) - PS4 - 99% => 99%

Hump Day Update:

 

Ah, finished Last Stop, which was a VN with a few puzzles.  Had a problem with the Baller trophy, but other than that, it was an interesting game whereas you decide the future/fate of 3 people who are someone interlinked.  Actually, a thought provoking game, and I enjoyed it.  No problems with the game and it had a chapter select at the end of the game. Nice!

Another belated weekly post. I haven’t been gaming much lately due to IRL issues, but I’m hoping I can this upcoming week. In spite of that, I finished up Ape Escape and randomly earned a B4B DLC trophy during a spontaneous gaming session with my brother. The (soft) goal remains to 100% B4B this year.

Current: 66.63% (+0.13%) 

Goal: 70%
