Attack on Completion 2023

Finished up 2022 with a completion of 57.68% so my goal for 2023 will be to reach 64%. That's a 6.32% increase, which is slightly higher than the 6% I was planning on doing but eh, close enough.

My plans for the first couple of months are to finish off some games that I only need 1 or 2 trophies in to platinum / 100%. Stuff like RE2 Remake, PS3 Limbo, etc. I'm also going to start a bunch of games I've been holding off on so my % is going to be, uh, interesting for the first few weeks. But my main goal for the first half of 2023 is to finally get the platinum trophy for Street Fighter V. With SF6 coming out in June, that gives me a firm date to get it done.

Vr is pretty sweet. I have the psvr and it is a blast to put on. Some of those games are great. I have not hooked mine up in some time, I should to play some Beat Saber. Good luck with your goals.

i recommend the 2 i expect you to die games on VR. not played them, don't have a VR< but i have watched the intro numerous times and that alone probably would be enough to make you play. i'll put the intro in the spoiler (From the devs official youtube channel).

It’ll make your completion go down a little, but if you complete that game you will have a higher % than you started with

 

You have a year to get your completion up, you can start a few new games as long as you’re also finishing them

Personal Gaming Goals for the Year

 

Last year I started out the year putting down some goals in addition to the straight % increase goal for the event and it really helped me stay on track and feel a little more accountable to accomplish what I wanted to. It worked and I mostly accomplished all of my goals last year. So I'm going to do that again this year!

 

Goal 1: Finish the year with under 500 unearned trophies.

 

Goal 2: Finish the year with under 14 uncompleted games.

 

Goal 3: Get to the 125 platinum trophies milestone (still debating what game it will be)

 

Goal 4: Complete the following very old backlog games:

 

 Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen (PS3) - last trophy: Jan 2015

 The Last of Us Remastered (PS4) - last trophy: Jan 2017

 SSX (PS3) - last trophy: July 2013

 

I will hopefully do more, but these are the one's I'd really like to cross off the list.

 

Goal 5: Complete the following Ultra Rare Plats that scare me from my backlog:

 

(I know this is basically the same as Goal 4, but these games make me nervous while the other ones don't)

 

 Titan Souls (PS4) - last trophy: Feb 2017

 Tooth and Tail (PS4) - last trophy: Dec 2017

 

Last year I just chose one game from my uncompleted backlog that scared me (Urban Trial Freestyle). This year I'm going to try and step up my game and finish 2 games off my profile that scare me!

 

Goal 6: Complete a JRPG

 

Not decided on what game yet, but contenders include FFXIII-2, Dragon Quest XI, and Battle Chasers: Nightwar.

 

Goal 7: Complete a fighting game

 

I've never completed a fighting game before and I want this to be the year I finally have a crack at the genre and see how I like it. I'm looking at possibly Granblue Fantasy: Versus or a SoulCalibur game since I have great memories of SoulCalibur 2 on the Dreamcast many years ago. Does anyone have some insight or a suggestion of a good newbie friendly fighting game for me to complete?

 

Goal 8: Complete all of the PS1 classic games on PS Plus that have trophies. I already did one of them so this leaves:

 

 Ape Escape

 Syphon Filter

 Syphon Filter 2

 Hot Shots Golf

 Wild Arms

 

 

Goal 9: Start and complete the following games: (This is where I'm drawing a line in the sand for myself and committing to playing some of the games I've meant to for a while, but just always somehow don't)

 

 Ratchet & Clank 2: Going Commando (PS3)

 Ratchet & Clank 3: Up Your Arsenal (PS3)

 God of War (PS4)

 The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (PS5)

 Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep (PS4) (I'm trying to complete 1 KH game per year till it's finished)

 Resident Evil 0 (PS4) (I will also try to complete 1 RE game per year until it's finished)

 

Goal 7: Complete 5 VR games

 

I don't know what they will be yet, but with PSVR2 releasing this year (and a headset pre-ordered) I hopefully have some cool experiences in store for me!

 

Well, that's 27 games I'm committing myself to. Which now that I'm looking at it is quite the tall order. It will be fun to look back at the end of my year and see how it actually played out compared to what I had hoped for. But hey, if there's not a very real chance of failure, the accomplishment doesn't mean as much, right? Anyways, I'm looking forward to another year of trophy hunting and completion raising! Also very much looking forward to reading about everyone else's adventures!

Given that I have a number of unattainable trophies and no longer own some of the games that are incomplete 97.18% might be beyond me this year but time will tell. I have noticed now that my unearned trophies are considerably lower than they were last year - I think I was near 1,200 - I am earning ~0.04% to my overall completion percentage when I add and complete a new game 100%. Presuming I can keep a lid on the number of unearned trophies I have, I very well just might reach that 5% goal.

 

My other goals for the year would be:

1) Less than 500 unearned trophies 

2) Less than 20 incomplete games 

3) Complete Fallout: New Vegas, Final Fantasy XIII, Prey, and Sacred 2

4) Finish all games in the following series: Infamous, Jak & Dakter, and Ratchet & Clank

5) My white wale this year will be Uncharted 4 Coop for 100%

6) My pipe dream is Platinum/ 100% The Elder Scrolls Online

7) Acquire certain PS3 games to finally finish them off: Metal Gear Solid HD Collection/ Legacy Collection, Rayman Origins, not sure about any others at this time.

8) Reach 10,000 total trophies 

9) Finish the last 3 letters I need for the A-Z platinums list.

1 got a question i want to start serieus with trophie hunting from this year onby 1 game at a time does that mean playing 1 game for days until the platinum trophie unlocks i started with trophie hunting when i unlocked the diablo reaper of souls and persona 5 royal but i want to start serieus with trophie hunting the other games i did before like color guardians i did not even have thought that i could trophie hunting and not only a few games i going to unlock platinum trophies from my games that i got so thats what i like to know is 1 game at a time for days until the platinum trophie unlocks because i am not so expirienced like the most gamers here

It depends on the person(and sometimes the game). I usually focus on one game then move on, but I’ve got a friend that will play a few simultaneously so he doesn’t lose motivation.

Playing 1 game at a time allows you to focus on it and get really good with the mechanics, but can become very monotonous, especially for longer games.

Ultimately you’re playing/platinuming games for fun(hopefully), so you do you and find the way you enjoy playing.
