Attack on Completion 2023

I'm in. I'd like to bring my completion to at least 85% this year. I'm at like 78.3% now. 

 

Starting off with Adventure Time: Pirates Of The Enchiridion since it's on the PS+ download list again and when it went off last time I only had 4 trophies. 

 

Should be a quick one to finish. I'd like to complete one backlog a month at least and add new games of course. 

 

One that is killing me is a Final Fantasy where I have 1 of like 98 potential trophies lol

Assassins Creed II (88% -> 100%):

Finished this up on the first. This game... well, there's good and bad. The good, is I liked it more than ACO. The bad is that I don't think the Assassin's are the good guys with a motto like "Nothing is True, Everything is permitted". Also, the controls were clunky as all hell. But I think that is an issue with it just being an older game.

 

Biomutant (0% -> 100%):

This game was better than I thought it was going to be. I enjoyed venturing into this little world. There wasn't anything genre changing but I thought it was executed very well.

 

Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni • JP (0% -> 54%):

This is my first foray into a Japanese game. I have played the English one, so it's not like I don't know what I am suppose to do. A little worried about the challenges but I should be able to look up what I need to do to complete them. So far so good. I did unlock the true ending path, so I am really hoping I didn't lock out the bad ending lol. I read that I will unlock it after the good, but... we shall see...

 

Not sure if I am going to go back to a game or start a new game now that Biomutant is finished. Decisions decisions...

should i play my new games like tales of arise cyberpunk i have bought them but i played yesterday final fantasy type 0hd unlocked 6 trophies and i really want to play my new games i really need to make a decision because my new games are standing there waiting to be played biomutant mass effect legendary edition far cry 6 call of duty black ops cold war kena bridge of spirits  and so on because i like to play games but i got so many games that i just want to have my backlog done al of them are digital i play digital like 6 years now and disc 2 years some of my games are decreasing my completion pcg if i add them to the trophie list i dont know if that is a bad thing decreasing my completion rate with the new games added ?

You messaged me around a dozen or more times today and yesterday over this. People already told you to basically just focus on one game at a time and they gave you suggestions. Final Fantasy HD Type 0 is a very easy game to finish within a few days or so just because you can max out the character's stats by using the training option and fast forwarding your system's clock and repeating until you're level 99. God of War is not a hard game to finish either. You have stuff you can do to fill your time already but you keep repeating the same questions and not making a whole lot of progress. You're already on Chapter 2 for FFHDT0 and I just checked my own list and I earned more than 25 trophies between chapter 1 and 2 and they're all very easy. It looks like you didn't bother with the overworld at all yet or really investigate the campus.

thanks for everything and sorry for repeating the same questions i do my backlog because my new games are just standing there waiting to be played did i knew everything before because nobody speak to me in my life so that is why i was asking those questions exactly i just wished that i got real friends and no fake friends in my life thanks

Despite saying that I want to get 40 games from my backlog done so far I have played mostly new stuff.

 

The Last Tinker: City of Colors (0% - 100%)

One of the games leaving PS+ Extra on the 17th. I had a mild interest in it and its short so I just went for it. Its a kid's platformer with collectibles. The twist is that it does not have a jump button, all the platforming is done with an auto run button and aim where you want to go with the stick. I was surprised how well that actually worked. It didn't feel like that much of a cop out. My good the character sound effects where so annoying though that I had to mute the game. Main character is super ugly as well.

 

Axiom Verge 2 (0% - 100%)

I did the original Axiom Verge last year and was very excited to see this on PS+ Essential this month. First couple of hours I wasn't digging it that much, but as I unlocked more abilities my enjoyment sky rocketed. Despite both games being metroidvanias Axiom Verge and Axiom Verge 2 have very different design philosophy. 1 is more focused on shooting, and fighting large bosses while guiding the player forward. 2 on the other hand focuses on close range combat and often in the first half of the game wants you to run from enemies instead of fighting. Bosses are optional in 2 except for 1 scripted fight for the story and the final boss. 2 is also way more vague in directing the player putting a much larger focus on exploring to find the power ups needed to progress. Story wise you don't need to play the first to understand the second. If you like reading in game lore though both games have tons and they do intertwine if you dig into it. The reveal at the end of 2 is a lot more impactful if you have played 1 however. Ultimate I think both are great games, and I will be interested to see if Tom Happ continues this series with different play styles in each game as he has said he has story material for 8 total games.

 

Pinball Arcade (IDK - 63%)

A very old backlog game and one that I will likely never finish. I chip away at it now and then. Did not pay attention to what I was at before but I unlocked 1 new silver trophy for it. I am close to a second new silver and if I get it I will have finally finished my first DLC for this game.

 

Team Sonic Racing (0% - 54%)

Tackling this for the UR cleanup. Honestly was expecting to be disappointed but I kinda love this game. Its team mechanics are really fun to me and I don't feel like the AI cheats that much. It's been challenging but not the uber hard nightmare I have heard it to be. I am completing every event in mostly the first try, occasionally the second on expert difficulty. I have been putting off the daredevil events though as I seem to be bad at those so they may roadblock me.

 

Grim Fandango Remastered (0% - 21%)

I had been slogging away at Siralim on Vita for all of November and December but I still have such a massive grind to do in that game I decided to shelve it for the time being so I can use my Vita for some more chill games while I play TSR. So I booted this up and am enjoying a classic adventure game. Some of the puzzles have been obtuse as puzzles tended to be back in the day, but nothing too crazy so far. Its funny and has likeable characters. I look forward to seeing where the plot goes.

Week 1 Update:

Spent most of the week with my other half watching some Doctor Who and playing pool, so not much progress on games overall but yesterday I did manage to 100% Resident Evil 4. It's the first time I've played it, and I think it's a great game that definitely still holds up today. I really enjoyed playing on Professional difficulty, managed to beat it in 2 sittings and didn't find it difficult really - it helps that you unlock Ashley's knight armour costume which makes her invincible and actually quite useful, instead of just overall annoying when playing on Normal mode with Leon and Ashley's original costumes. I'd recommend anyone to try this still. It'll be interesting to see what the remake is like but I think I'll hold off on that one for a while since I just finished the OG until there's a price drop.

 

Going to start working on God of War: Ragnarök again now, which I'm super looking forward to, along with some SR3 + GTA IV online boosting sometime this weekend I expect. Potentially some MW3 spec ops missions too.

A fun mix of games this week, and the first platinum trophies of the year. DQH and Norco were part of the winter challenge, and Save Room was something I wanted since I saw the PC version. It being a Ratalaika game was a bonus. There's only 40 puzzles, but some of those later ones get tricky.

 

Started playing Stranger of Paradise again to get ready for the next DLC. I'm still using Extra Mode for now, but getting close to the point where I'll have to drop it. I also started back on Diablo 3. I get the feeling that the PS3 version might shut down this year so I'm trying to get it done before then. Not even thinking of the gold grind yet, just leveling up and getting the easy trophies for now.

Hello everyone! Time for the first report of the year! I've been slowly getting back to it and this year will be quite different. First, as I said on my last post on the 2022 event I'll try to focus more on the games that I really want to play instead of going for the quickest ones, second this year I'll become a father for my first child! So that'll definitely shake things up with my progress. Overall this year started slower than with last one but I still manage to grab a plat, so let's get to it

 

Completed this week:

Babylon's Fall - PS5 - Finally finished it, and with this basically my old "emergency list" is complete, overall the game is not that bad, but it's also not good... Gameplay is quite clunky and commands are slow for a game that tries to be a hack and slash, no regrets though

 

Progress this week:

Overcooked - PS4 - 52% - Been playing this one with my wife and family, we are almost done

Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII Reunion - PS5 - 5% - Finally got my hands on a copy! Just played the first mission cause I was quite near finishing Babylon's Fall and also because I wanna try to make this one my 100th plat, I'm 2 plats short so I'll not go full focus on it just yet

Formula 1 2016: Lots of easier trophies to pop off besides doing the championship runs. I can also help with the online too.

 

Rocket League: This game gives out trophies like sweets and it's so easy to cheese if you aren't enjoying it. Maybe time to give it a chance.

 

Wolfenstein: The New Order: You just have the final difficulty trophies, which if you don't fancy doing the whole game, you can just do the fiirst mission and then load up the last mission and complete it from there. Another plat in the bag.

 

Aye, definitely planning to take on F1 2016 and Rocket League later on in the year. My unofficial aim is to move as many of my E-ranked games lurking at the bottom of the profile to at least something slightly more respectable as I can - not that many of them so it's very do-able, it's a good thing about arriving to the gaming party a bit later than most others! - and both those have the advantage of fitting nicely for Bingo checkoffs. Just need to make time for them!

 

I  tried the last mission skip in Wolfenstein but kept getting brutally slaughtered going into the big room at the start of the level and just gave up on it. 2018 me clearly wasn't as stubborn and determined to git gud as today me. Suppose it's well overdue for a revisit as well.

 

Guess I was a little disappointed at only moving up 6 pages in the rankings with two plats in the week (not often that happens, that's for sure!) but the table is so close together there should be definite upward progress anyway. I'll see how the next few months go and might amend the target later. Guess I could always resort to playing some of those nonsense jumping food games for a quick boost!

Not a bad first week at all, though I doubt I'll keep that pace up. Happy to see some fast progress, though!

 

 

Saints Row: The Third - Remastered

98% -> 100%

Pretty much a freebie since I left it for the kaleidoscope event. Can't recommend the game overall, ran into quite a few crashes and neverending loading screens on the way through. Friend I was playing it with had a trophy glitch as well.

 

7 Days to Die

28% -> 34%

We couldn't remember what we were doing, so went for a few of the awkward trophies before restarting the save.

 

Sniper Elite 5

43% -> 76%

Fun game, but still prefer SE4. Will be sitting unfinished for a while since I'm not paying $25+ for Season Pass 1 after seeing Zombie Army 4.

 

Lego DC Super-Villains

60% -> 100%

This game feels like it went a little overboard on the collectibles. Decent overall, though, and a nice grab from PS+.

 

 

No particular plans for this week.

...Someone motivate me to finish up FF7, I'm afraid to even try for Top Secrets.

You can do it! Optinooby has some excellent guides for beating the bosses on hard difficulty and tips for grinding materia. 

 

I'll probably be doing the PS5 version this year so I can play the DLC before part 2 comes out.

Hi, this sounds incredibly fun so I’d love to join!

• My current completion rate is 19.46%
• My Goal is probably to get to 30%

Not really sure how manageable this is but it seems like a good challenge throughout the year that will encourage me to actually try tackle all the games I have in my library that never got touched. 
 

I’m a little confused about the points or how this fully works, do we need to give updates here for it to count? Either way like this is what I needed to finally get more than one Plat trophy!!

UPDATE #1

 

 

Managed to get an increase of 0.69%. Great start of the year, 1st of january grabbed the AC: Origins platinum and after that Gigantosaurus the Game (together with my son) and Pinball Heroes. Finally I got the licenses trophies on Gran Turismo 7, so the only few trophies that are left (50 sport races, 100 laps time trail, 10 supercharger and Legendary cars, got 2/3 legendary atm) will be obtained the upcoming week(s)

 

Started Tiny Tina's Wonderlands together with a friend, so the upcoming weeks I'm focussing on finish that one. Also going to platinum Biomutant (PS5) and grabbing the 100% on AC: Origins.

This is the only challenge I regularly participate in here at PSNP and I will do so again this year.

 

Starting Completion rate (31.12.2022) - 72.03%

Goal - 77.03%

 

I'm sticking to the minimum 5% increase as it's getting more challenging to raise the percentage and I refuse to play shovelware to bump it up. Also, there are games with trophies I don't enjoy hunting - mainly missable since I refuse to play with guides/walkthroughs.

 

Here's a recap for the past 3 years
2020 - Completion increase by 7.71%, Rarity -2.74%
2021 - Completion increase by 2.24%, Rarity -1.20%
2022 - Completion increase by 4.72%, Rarity -1.85%

 

Not every year I managed to hit the 5% minimum but my main, personal goal is to keep lowering my Rarity rate. I'm already under 40%, and as long as I increase the Completion rate at least a bit, I'm happy. I don't want this to get in the way of how I game/what games I choose to play.

 

I will try to post regular monthly updates. Good luck everyone participating!

i got the dlc aswell from assasins creed origins its only some dlc from my other games that i dont have it yet i got almost all the dlc from my games i can do also now most of the games+dlc and its fun to do

Inscryption and Death's Door finished! Inscryption was way harder and longer than expected but overall a great gem! Should have gotten way way way more attention. Deaths Door on the other hand was also a great expierience! Especielly if you know where the Developers came from. There first game Titan Souls was great but probably not for the mainstream. Deaths Door does it better, easier but still a challange if you dont go for Upgrades and stuff, better looking and not to long!

Yeah it's a good game. Pharaoh DLC is amazing. Best AC DLC I played.
