Can you redownload if you got the game from PS+?

My brother was able to claim the game via PS+ back in 2012. If he renewed his subscription, would he be able to download it again?

Generally yes. A lapsed Plus subscription will regain access to anything claimed while Plus was valid.

Any PS+ game that was claimed during the membership, can be played as long as the account who claimed it is a member. Doesn't matter how long of a gap between membership subscriptions, if there was a break.

My buddies and I claimed it.. but it's no longer in our libraries for some reason.. didn't think it would be delisted in there too.. ? am I missing something?

Sometimes PS Plus games end up in the Purchased folder for me instead of the PS Plus folder in the library. Other than that, I have no idea.
