I really loved the idea that was done last year and asked the OP if I could take over the event (without response back) so running with it. (If this isn't allowed, I apologize and a mod please close this thread). The goal of the event is to pick a list of games from your backlog that you think you can complete this year (complete either the platinum or 100%) and try to complete at least one game per month from the list. There will also be a lifetime leaderboard that will continue to update for as long as the event is around if people are interested in this being a thing. _______________________________ How the event works: - Post a list of games you are confident you can finish this year – you will need at least one game per month for the event depending on when you signed up – and then try to complete at least one of those games per month. For instance, if you sign up in January, you need to post at least 12 games, if you sign up in June you need at least 7 games and if you sign up in December you need at least 1 game. It's best to add as many games as you can or plan to do. However there is a penalty for not completing a game that you said you would, so don't go too overboard! - You complete one game per month to earn points. The first game you complete from your list adds 1 point to your leaderboard total, while every subsequent game completed in that month adds 0.5 points. Games not on your list do NOT counts for points! - If you miss a month and don’t complete any of your backlogged games, you lose 1 point from your total (there is a grace period of one month when you sign up before this takes effect). If, at the end of the year, you haven't completed the games you said you would from the backlog, you lose 0.1 points per game that you didn't complete. - However, you CANNOT fall below 0 points. There is no negative points. - In the event of a tie, the person who earned the points first is ahead in the leaderboards. - You can add any game to your backlog list (up to the maximum amount of 50), at any time. However, the game must be under 33% complete to be added to your list outside the months of April and August. You also cannot remove games from your list other than in April and August. - After you have completed a game it no longer counts towards the 50 game limit and you can immediately add another game to your list to take it's place (as long as it follows the rules above). - You can edit your backlogged list only twice per year to remove games (they can be edited ONCE during April and August). You can also add games that are above the regular threshold of 33% during this time. - Every new list counts as a new game. So for example the Jurassic Park telltale episodes on PS3 count as five different games. - No cheated games or hacked trophies allowed. - 'Shovel-Ware' games don't count for points. - Autopops don't count for points. - Duplicate/Stacked/Cross Platform Games MUST be replayed, and can only be accepted as valid 2 MONTHS after the first game of the same name has been platinumed/100%. (For example if you complete Stray (PS4) in January, Stray (PS5) will only count if you start (33% and below) it in April) This is to prevent a deluge of easy/quick platinum/100%. - You can choose games you haven’t started yet, or games already on your profile when you sign up. THREE of your games can be above the 33% threshold when you FIRST sign up. - Updates will happen around the 2nd and 17th of each month. - Be aware that three months of no progress without extenuating circumstances, will result in you being dropped from the leaderboard. - Remember, this is supposed to be about having fun. If you wanna use the same list of games from multiple events, that is fine! ***APRIL and AUGUST: 1. Officially the removal months for games on this event. 2. Participants can remove games, as long as the remaining games equal at least one point for each month remaining in the event. 3. Participants can remove games in ONE post during April and August so think carefully on your decision. 4. Participants can also add games over the 33% threshold during April and August, the number of games on each participants list cannot exceed 50. ****DLC can be used for points under the following conditions: 1. The Platinum/100% has already been achieved at an earlier time and the dlc has been added to the main list later. OR dlc was never completed. 2. ALL DLC for the game listed (for example LEGO Dimensions) needs to be completed for it to count for the whole point if the game is being used as your point for the month. 3. Each game can only be used once during the event for DLC points. (For example, The Callisto Protocol is slated to get DLC in February/March and perhaps another one later on. If you select TCP and use it for a point on the first DLC pack, it cannot be used again during the event. Even if it does get more trophies through additional DLC. Your list looks pretty solid, but just a quick tip for Man of Medan (if you are playing the PS5 version). I don't know if they finally patched it, but as far as I am aware, Movie Night is still messed up. The way to bypass it and score your 'heart' or 'heads' playthrough and either 'everyone lives' or 'everyone dies' is to play the PS4 version (unpatched) for movie night. (You will need to let it do the required update in the chapter 'wreck'). Playthrough the game getting to the 'Olson' end where you face the badguy in the hold for the distributor cap. Your choices don't matter here. Right as the cutscene before the final choice of the game, save your game and quit. Load up the PS5 version and upload your Ps4 save. Movie Night will start at the cutscene and pick your choice (for either head or hearts), no matter your choices prior all characters are usually alive again. Choose to either pass the QTE and save everyone, or fail it, to let everyone die. You can also reload the save and make the opposite choice to pop the other series of trophies. Fallout 3 (4%) Good luck on Arkham City, the combat is smoother than Asylum but they went way way overboard with the amount of challenges needed for 100% across all characters. (and this is even with me having completed the challenges in Origins and Knight). BlazzingWind Posted January 7, 2023 Author Share Posted January 7, 2023 So I purposely did not add it to my list because I had already platinumed it on the Ps4 a few days ago in December which is too soon for a replay according to the rules, as well as the fact I was soooo close to finishing it. But my first plat of 2023 is Final Fantasy Crisis Core (PS5). Played it on release with the PSP and never got further than chapter 6 I think. So this was an excellent throwback to finally see how the story led into FF7. While I agree, Zach's new VA was hard to get used to. I feel he took the other characters calling Zach the 'ever restless puppy' literally and brought that energy to every line. Which was hit or miss. Thank you for catching that, it should be fixed now, will update your list accordingly when I have a bit more time. I personally agree that getting points that way would be too easy, and therefore would say that dlc counts as a separate game when the base game has already been completed some time in the past and you are going back to regain the 100% as a means to motivate the completion. If it populates the trophy list as a separate entry like Jurassic Park, Sam & Max, etc does then those all count as separate games. So in essence, if the dlc has its' own list on the main trophy list then it is a fully separate game. Otherwise, it counts as a separate game if the platinum has already been gotten, but the dlc has not been beaten. The best example I can give right now, is that The Callisto Protocol came out in December, it is supposed to get DLC in late February. If the platinum for TCP was already obtained and the dlc releases with trophies, then this dlc would count as a separate game. To be as fair as possible with points, each game can only be used once for the 'dlc' category. So if the game has three dlcs, getting the point for that being the 'month' game would require completing all 3 dlcs.
