What weapon are you starting out with? And what was your last weapon on MHW?

Finally, it’s here. I’ll be using the Switch Axe to start with, love being on the full offensive of things!

 

My main MHW/Iceborne was Insect Glaive! Wonder if it is good in this game

I used the bow in Rise on the Switch, the greatsword in base World and the lance in Iceborne.
I usually switch around weapons for every new Monster Hunter game, maybe I'll try something else once Sunbreak comes to PS4/PS5

I played Charge Blade in MHW/Iceborn. Pretty sure I’ll go for that in Rise/Sunbreak.

Great Sword only. It's the only weapon I've used since MHW because it's the only one I've mastered.

I was a long sword main for World and a lot of Iceborne, switching to a light bowgun with sticky ammo towards the end. Wouldn't mind trying something different this time. Maybe great sword or charge blade.

Wanted to use the longsword but it doesn't feel good in this. In Mhw the metal clanking and slicing the monsters feels and sounds good. In rise the longsword feels wooden and its not as satisfying. Will be using chargeblade instead. 

 

Also no haptics on the guns, would have been a nice touch to get better haptics.

Mostly used the Lance in World/Iceborne.  I touched a little bit of everything.  Probably start with the Lance.  Maybe Gunlance.  Gunlance, Hammer, and Hunting Horn were like tied for second place.

I used mostly Dual Blades from the Switch version so going to stick with that. Might use a ranged weapon more this time when Sunrise comes back though.

Since you have so much mobility in Rise i'll go with the Heavy Weapons. Hammer on Ps5 and if you can't get enough i'll do some great sword action on the ps4 version

Will probably wait for Sunbreak to come out, but I'm torn between Insect Glaive and Switch Axe. I used Bow exclusively in World. Still want to get Iceborne as well, but trying to find a physical copy.

personally, i played hammer on world and iceborn, on this one i tested a bit the horn that boosts the stats, but i was not convinced. So I spent my 300h playing the hammer again x). I started wild hearts and I also play hammer on it. I think the hammer gameplay is nice, it's a lot of head placement to put KOs and help colleagues when the monster is down. And the damage is really good, it's a good value. You have to wait for the right moment before dropping the big combos
