changing Drawful 2 for Plague inc (currently at 10%) because i think that for drawful 2, you can't just have 8 tabs open at the same time to have 8 players lol

This season I wanted to carry over a few games from the previous challenge and some games I have been playing on the side. Hogwarts Legacy, Wild Hearts, Kaiju Wars and Warhammer 40k Mechanicus being games I kept under the 33% mark for this purpose. I wanted to enjoy some smaller indie games and I've heard really good things about Crosscode (and I've enjoyed what I've already played of this), Chained Echos and Monster Sanctuary. Anticipating days when my shoulder is going to prevent me playing games that demand twitch precision and speed, I've put Steins;gate Elite (I absolutely love the original and the anime and looking forward to playing this again) Catan (I love digital board games sooooo much) and The Pedestrian. The others are a fairly diverse and hopefully achievable set of games for this challenge. I think Elden Ring is most ambitious due to my completionist traits making me check every cave and then getting bored lol.

 

For the games I've NOT added to my list.... I've not picked up Atomic Heart as it has very mixed reviews and I'm getting some serious jank vibes that may affect my enjoyment. £60 for a 12-15 hour 'marmite' game felt a bit steep. Octopath Travellers 2 is something I'm excited for but I have so many JRPGs in my backlog I think I'm going to wait for a sale with this one. Atelier Ryza 3 and Resident Evil 4 remake seem excellent - however, I've yet to platinum my last Atelier game and I don't know if I'll have the capacity to play these, I may even add them to the challenge if I can though. Plenty of FOMO for other games to be released.  I'm sure I'll end up adding them all and playing non of them

I played the game and got the plat back in 2014. If you like exploring a huge world, then it might be good for you. Story-wise, it's a conclusion to the XIII saga. That might be stating the obvious, but that's what it was for me. I didn't hate it and also didn't really like it, so it was just that: a conclusion. The game looks alright for a PS3 game, the music is good. The somewhat more action-oriented battle system didn't really work for me. This is more on me than on the game, you can do insane things with it, it's me who couldn't do that.

That's the reaction most people had. Square-Enix was probably risking the biscuit since FFXIII-2 was a weird tangent as you only had two party members and the last one was a monster who you tamed and raised like in Pokemon. I feel like if they made the whole dress-up system for Lightning more like X-2's, it might have gotten better reviews. As such, they decided to axe the idea of XIII Versus and turn its character into Noctis for FFXV.

Small change to my list as I got carried away with Greak: Memories of Azur this past weekend and finished everything but the speedrun so swapping it out as its above the limit now.

So I decided to risk it for the biscuit at the last minute and expand my list again. I know, I know, that's shooting myself in the foot but I think I have some good games to go off of. Here's the expanded list, just before the event begins so I don't have to worry about swaps:

 

Major Projects

• World of Final Fantasy (12%)

This is the biggest project due to how big the game is and how much grinding I will have to do. I did get to Chapter 5 and am camping in the first forest but I feel like a month of my life will be spent on the story alone.

• Disgaea 4+ Complete (1%)

Just got the first trophy for starting the game so I'm committed. A bit more grindy than Disgaea 5 but I intend to challenge myself.

• Hogwarts Legacy

Not even started yet, but I have downloaded it into my PS5, which I will be taking with me to Florida. I was going to put Kingdom Hearts here but found out that Disneyworld are scalpers and their vacay packages are a pile of dog turds costing golden poo. Universal Studios has a cheaper vacay package and I can save the money I was saving up for this, and since Universal Studios has put up the famous wizard-witch hangouts of Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade, I decided to change my game I'd be camping in the hotel for a couple of days with this. My only face-to-face friend, my gym trainer, has been tearing though it and praises it so I have to do it. I'm still not sure if anyone knows whether you have to do four full playthroughs or not but if you do it's not a big deal.

 

Minor Projects

• LEGO DC Super Villains (1%)

Got the first trophy for making a custom avatar, but I didn't like her much as I didn't know how the character creator worked, so I deleted that file. Did see the first scene with Lex Luthor so I know what to expect.

• Minecraft (both PS4 and Vita)

THIS VIDEO DRAGGED ME KICKING AND SCREAMING INTO THE GAME I DISSED FOR BEING PRIMITIVE FIRST-PERSON SURVIVAL, WHICH IS A PERFECT STORM OF THINGS I DON'T LIKE ABOUT VIDEO GAMES.

 

Seriously, this guy is a Minecraft challenge GOD. Of course, all of his videos are worlds that were customized mods but I really really enjoy his work, watching him run from other players and then building bases. This post is sponsored by the content creator, Ryguyrocky. Go to his Youtube page and lose yourself in hour-long videos where he explains what he is doing. His videos actually do a far better job teaching people how to play Minecraft than the official guides, because he has to brew potions, explore the Nether, and takes multiple expeditions against the Ender Dragon and the Outer End to get the items there for his upgrades so he has to keep explaining to newcomers how he does this. With his videos, you'll learn how to get Ender Pearls, brew potions of Slowness, and defeat the Ender Dragon.

 

(He also has several 'survival farm' challenges where his archnemesis UnicornMann makes him take deathtrap challenges if he gets caught. I saw one, 100 Days as a Villager, and it's pretty sick. Those custom prison maps are just dope. )

 

So yeah, despite these games having a sh**ton of DLC trophies, I decided to buy Minecraft so I could play it on PC and create my own little survival challenges.

 

To be fair, I have platinumed the Dragon Quest Builder games which borrow heavily from this title.

• Wild Arms (PS4)

I have platinumed the PS5 version so I have to stack it up. Now that Wild Arms 2 has been released, I might look in that in the future.

I have to get rid of my Artifex Mundi backlog.

was debating if to replace Plague inc with soccer pinball but i decided to inlude both 

so adding Soccer Pinball which takes me up to 6

Count me in again!

 

I'm going to try and you know throw together a list that's actually achievable this time. I'm going to add some shorter unstarted games that have been sat on my backlog for a while, because I'm trying to make a conscious effort this year to try and knock out some of the really old completions left to do on my list, and pretty much all of those are higher than the threshold. 

 

So I guess this will be my list.
