Am i the only one having trouble getting gold medal on vehicules ?

Any tips ?

i feel like i time challenges are really hard and luck based (especially dirt bike or side car).

Water challenge i dont know what to do... im not even close to get gold and im cherrypicking with yellow and red nozzle. i blame the fucking dualsense on this.

The Big Maps are a lot more forgiving. I struggled hard on some of the cars but did the bungalow in 20 minutes and 25 minutes were required.

The dirt bike is just pure luck, my best was 1:12 and I’ve never reached that time again.

The only one I could get done on time was the vintage car. Everything else had me going over. Got the remaining golds on the water challenges on the van, vintage car, motorbike & sidecar and dirtbike - only just on that last one though (3.99L out of 4)

Found the best method was to do some long sweeping sprays with the yellow nozzle and then go red/spinning for the fine dirt, doing small tap bursts on the leftover areas of dirt. Lot of careful moving about and aiming. Vintage car gets the spray bottle, which clears up the vast majority of the metalwork.

Don't think I'd have the patience to try on a building over the vehicles.

Did the following vehicles for the trophy:

  • Van (both water and time)
  • Dirt bike (time)
  • Golf cart (time)
  • Motorbike and sidecar (water)

For the water challenges, I could advise spraying while strifing using a green nozzle. If you quickly move, this can save lots of water. You can find some videos online about this technique. And use a yellow nozzle for windows, side windows and all the small parts. I did a van with ~12L.

For the van time challenge, don't forget to use soap for the body/bonnet/doors and windows.

The dirt bike time challenge was not so bad. It's slightly above a minute long, so you could make lots of quick tries. I used the white nozzle with a short extension, sprayed and prayed. The important part was to learn where the tricky stuff is (e.g. engine, that stuff above tires I forgot the name of).

Hope this helps a bit and wish you luck!

I got four medals gold medals doing the locations - they are quite easy, just make sure you use all of your cleaners first on the large areas.

For the 5th medal, I did the Van Clock challenge (again, use the soap first and you will have little left to clear after).

I only need 1 more medal but it's driving me because I either run out of time end up using more more water than I should, no matter which challenge I do :(.

Which ones do you already have ?

Honestly think the quantity challenges are waaay easier as you can take your time. I done the first 5 vehicles and completed them first time. There are some guides on the true achievements site and youtube. Generally I'll strafe from left to right with the yellow nozzle down one side until majority of dirt is gone, repeat for all sides, then literally only used the red nozzle and FEATHERED the R2 button for half a second at a time. Takes time but gives you a chance to use the 'show dirt' button and get in the best position for 1 spray at a time. The only thing I done differently was for the vintage car i used the soap for most of the metalwork as it'll come right off amd won't count as much of your total usage, use this just as you would the red nozzle.

Take your time, use only yellow nozzle to strafe quickly (and stop spraying as soon as you reach the end of the vehicle), use red nozzle to spray single use jets at patches until complete.

In the grand tradition of forum rants, I ended up getting this trophy not long after ranting about it :giggle:.

Thats the purpose of this topic... share and evacuate frustration.

Also if we can identify "easier" challenges and suggest tips, it might help newcomers.

As others have said, the location challenges are pretty forgiving. After trying just about all of the vehicle challenges, I personally found the Van water challenge and golf cart time challenge the easiest in that category.

I'm honestly a little surprised they don't have more locations available for challenge mode. You'd think they would unlock challenge mode for each map as you beat them in the campaign. Besides the tires and brakes on the dirt bike, I've had a lot of fun with the challenges.

Managed 3/5 and cant get anymore done. It feels like the time limits were designed for the Vista PRO, yet all the challenges give you one of the weaker washers. The limits are FAR too strict and its honestly ruined the game for me. There was no need to add a stupid, difficult and stressfull gamemode into what was othrwise a peaceful, relaxing and fun game.

I managed to do both of the van challenges, and the golf cart timed challenge.

Ive tried both bike challenges multiple times, the vintage car timed challenge multiple times and even the fire truck and bungalow challenges with no luck.

  • 1 month later...

Just completed this one yesterday. Did the 2 vans, 2 dirtbikes and the timed for the motorcycle with side car.

As some others have said, the Van is definitely the easier one. I just kept doing the bike since the time limit is 1.10 and I figured the tries to get that one would be faster than the others so yeah, in the end I got it.

As for the side car, idk, the golf cart might be a bit easier tbh, I just didn't like the looks of it lol but if you decide to go for the side car, I used the short extension with the yellow nozzle and focused on the wheels since the metal parts are quite hard to get with any nozzle

I guess I am the latest to complain about these challenges, I have only managed 2 after several attempts. I have done the speed run on the Van and Golf Cart. I just don't know what other 3 I will get done.

I just finished the career mode on this and then had a go at these challenges, but I really can't be bothered with them.

I don't understand why they would make a game that's all about taking as much time as you want to complete a job, and then add in a challenge mode where it's just frantic and the opposite of the relaxed experience in the career mode. There's nothing fun about it.

Finished three challenges with a gold medal, Dirt bike and the Golf cart are the easiest in my opinion, I recommend turning up your sensitivity when going for the gold medals as it's so slow moving your camera up and down.

For my five I did the following

Van- Time and water challenge

Golf Cart - Time

Vintage car - time

Dirt bike - Water

in my opinion the water challenges are easier by a mile. turn the sensitivity to max and make very quick wide sprits with the yellow and green nozzles (I don't recommend the white nozzle). I only used the red nozzle for objects that more or less require it ie. rusty objects, heavy dirt like the front of the van, small areas like the dirt bike spokes. Was able to get gold on the water trials for the Van, Dirt bike, Golf Cart, Backyard, and the bungalow on my first try.

I've tried the water challenges as suggested and actually managed to complete them. Alongside a couple of the "easier" timed challenges.

I'd never really tried the water ones because I figured they would be more difficult due to having to use the first washer. Now I just need "Good Dings to Come" for the Plat.

Just got this trophy done and did:

Time on
Dirt bike (luck based)

Golf cart (easy)

Motorbike with side car (gotta move fast, do a few times and see where you are lacking)

Water limit on

Golf kart
Van

Turn sensitivity all the way up and move like a mad man, good luck guys! I really hated this trophy

I was 90% done the van with the water challenge and had plenty of water left to do the last bits.  I had to pause the game to feed and walk my dog and when I got back, I saw that my wife had decided to try the game out and was merrily spraying the van at full output, causing me to lose the attempt!  This was a few weeks ago and I'm sure I'll go back to try it again, but I'm going to finish career mode first now.  She ended up buying the game on her own console though, so she can leave mine alone!  ?
