Face the fan. The AI gets wonky.

I was hoping they would do the animation to grab me from behind and throw themselves into the fan. What I got was unexpected.

Occasionally they will attack but for much less or no damage. I took 2 consecutive hits on Hardcore difficulty for no damage.

For the most part they do not know what to do. They gather behind you and stand there until you turn around. I was able to turn around, maybe dodge once, and pot shot 2-3 at a time with the riot gun.

I was even able to use an injector and reload while they stood around like a bunch of nice fellows.

 

On the first wave they came up in front of the fan so I was able to quickly grab and throw them straight into the fan.
