PS Plus Extra Vita/PS3 crossbuy

I just realized,  PS Plus Extra has some crossbuy titles in it. Most of them are crossbuy between PS4/PS5, but I found at least one (Thomas was Alone)  that is crossbuy with PS3/Vita/PS4. However, I do already have that game, so I can't check the question that came to my mind:

 

What happens if I download a game on Extra on my PS4 that is crossbuy with PS3/Vita? Can I download the older version as a crossbuy, then? Essentially: Do the older consoles work with PS Plus Extra titles or do they not even recognize the license?

My experience

It does work for games that you can download on ps4 (example: https://psnprofiles.com/trophies/4049-super-star-wars)
It does not work for games that you stream (example: https://psnprofiles.com/trophies/2573-cel-damage-hd)

Interesting.

 

Now I wonder what happens to a downloaded crossbuy if the Extra game that started the crossbuy leaves the service. So much potential for shenanigans!

I tried it out with Whispering Willows, which was on the service a while ago and is cross-buy between PS4 & PS Vita. I got the PS4 copy, but I didn’t get the PS Vita copy.

Here's a list of games I got from the PS plus cross buys: Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty, Hue, Thomas Was Alone, Nidhogg, GAROU: Mark of the Wolves (includes a pretty neat theme too!), Hotline Miami, Resogun. Resogun was weird because I had to search for that while the others came up in my downloads. Super Star Wars didn't work for me unfortunately... There could be more glitched games I haven't found too.
