Starting April 28 2023, Battlefield 1943, Battlefield: Bad Company 1 & 2 and Mirror’s Edge will be removed from digital storefronts and you will no longer be able to purchase them. This is in preparation for the retirement of the online services for these titles which will happen on December 8 2023. For Bad Company 1 & 2 and Mirror’s Edge, you can still continue playing them and use their respective offline features, such as the single player campaign.

I have the ultimate edition of BC2 sitting on my shelf but I don’t think that includes the Vietnam DLC does it? What sort of time estimate is expected for all the multiplayer trophies for BC2?

It's the time for me to say a goodbye at this game one last time before the shutdown; the multiplayer of this game is special to me because it was my first battlefield game and that I liked it. Anyways, good luck to everyone.

The server shutdown it's still months away but definetly a game worth earning it's Platinum. The multiplayer still holds up nicely and I highly recommend juping into as soon as possbile.

As Someone who has the 100%, here are my tips:

 

If your boosting party isn't available or you have time off to play by yourself you can work on pretty much all the trophies, a good chunk of them can be earned by simply playing, leveling up and unlocking stuff. Remember to take advantage of empty lobbies to earn some easy exp if you don't have anything else to do. If you start right now you will have months to spare before the servers go down. The only two trophies that you will HAVE to boost from the main trophy list are:

• Demolition Man - tecnically can be done without boosting but it will take you dozens of games to do, can be earned in less than an hour if boosted
• Et tu, Brute? - you will need a friend on the other team to trade kills

These trophies can also be done solo, but some players may find them tedious since they force you to go out of your way to do them, if you're experienced with battlefield or think you're capable go for them.

• Mission... Accomplished.
• Airkill
• Careful Guidance

SPEACT DLC

 

The SPECACT DLC can be done solo since the requirements for all 4 trophies are the same:

 

1.) Get 8 kills in 1 round with each SA weapon

2.) Get a skillstreak of 5 with each SA weapon

3.) Get 100 kills with one of the Specact weapons

 

Onslaught DLC  - **IMPORTANT!!**

 

Arguably the worst part of this game. Realistically, this DLC could be completed in two hours since all four missions consist of go from point A to point B and kill everyhting you see, however these servers seem to work every full moon or so. You may be able to start playing immediately or it may take you days of trying to join a lobby until the servers feel like connecting you with other players. However, once you're in, these trophies should be a breeze. 

 

COMPLETIONIST KILLER BUG WARNING

Always do each map first on easy, normal or hard and then a second time on Hardcore. Why? There is an extremely rare glitch that randomly triggers if you earn both trophies at the same time by beating a map for the first time in hardcore mode in which the hardcore trophy will unlock but the one for beating the map won't. If this happens, that trophy is PERMANENTLY UNOBTAINABLE. Onslaught is a barebones online mode, completely unrelated to multiplayer, with nothing but a leaderboard and the map completion data gets stored in an online server. Since the game thinks you have both trophies (after all you had to beat the map to earn the hardcore one) you can replay the map 40 times a day until the servers go down and you still won't earn it. Unlike Medal of Honor: Warfighter, which also had a similar glitched trophy, the whole EA resetting your account workaround isn't possble here since even if EA did reset your account back to level 1, as far as the game is concerned your account already completed the map and thus you should have the trophy, plus your multiplayer progress has no bearing on this mode.

 

In short, beat the map on easy first and then a second time on Hardcore. A hardcore run takes about 20 minute to complete.

Vietnam DLC 

 

The miscellaneous and map/mode trophies can be done by chilling in empty servers. However, no one plays Vietnam anymore so it's literally impossible to earn the kill related trophies legit. I boosted back in 2019 with two different groups the kill trophies and in the combined 10 hours or so we played, we did not come across a single random. Thus, the following trophies require a boosting party to earn:

 

Every Gun has a Silver Lining

Ecstasy of Gold

Doing the Rounds

Cantankerous Chauffeur

Ride of the Valkyrie

Great Balls of Fire

My child BC2! My first 1k hour game (B.Paradise before it was close)

so many good times with this game and friends. It came at a crucial time when I rage quite COD MW2 months before ;p Also loving the first BC so was going to play this regardless. Believe me, Battlefield 2042 having flopped and Battlefield 1943 + Bad Company 1 and 2 servers closing is pure coincidence.

DLC took my group around 30h. Base game i can't remember to be honest.

The Mirror's Edge 2009 servers closed in January of this year but the 100% is obtainable offline so it doesn't matter the servers have closed. Also, Mirror's Edge being mentioned in that article was a mistake which has now been corrected

You can play your physical copy whenever you want. Servers are up until December.

Do not forget that you need to buy the DLC digitally if you want that sweet 100%
