Also, @UltraDog177 surprisingly managed to sneak in some delicious points on the final day of the fixture and beat Yuna by just 0.7(!) points . Congrats Oskar.

@Wdjat Prinny Doods must be getting pretty tired now... such an insanely high-scoring and close match again this fixture, just like in fixture 4. At least he was able to take home the win this time around. Congrats on those very impressive scores Prinny and @Mesopithecus!

 

@fabyRomanuls barely avoids automatic removal for inactivity by earning two trophies this fixture. Can they also still avoid relegation?

 

In Bronze, @RedbeardRik gets his first win of the season by winning from Soul with a difference of just 0.1 score between them . @RudeDonny and @YieuY are the first two players to share the points this season.

We're half way through the season, so it's time to see how my predictions are holding up and who is springing suprises.

 

Platinum League

The biggest suprise is who is top of the League. @Lucas is unbeaten after overcoming myself and @Mesopithecus and keeps just scoring enough to overcome his opponents. Not bad for 20-1 odds for the win. His biggest threat is yet to come as @Wdjat Prinny Doods is the highest scorer, has the most Platinums earned and is sitting in second place, waiting to pounce. At 25-1 odds, the underdogs are really trying hard. Meso has put in some big scores, but was too busy for her match with Lucas and Prinny had a 9 point win to leave her in third place. I am on the comback trail after losing to both Lucas and Meso in my first two rounds, the sharp end of the season is coming and you bet I will be cutting my way to the top. @Jello is having an interesting season, not scoring too highly but still has 3 wins and sitting midtable, seeming very comfortable. @Arctic Cress is having some bad luck with matches, losing by a hairs breadth several times as was @Krazy_99 but two wins on the trot has lifted them out of relegation and slowly moving up the table. @GTA_Darren is fighting hard for all his matches, but the wins just aren't coming, sitting just outside the relegation zone, will he have enough in the tank to stay up? @xZoneHunter and @ApriIis take up the relegation places taking a much more sedate pace to the competition than at the other end. With only 4 points separating 6th and 10th it is still too early to say who is going down just yet.

 

Gold League

 

Now on 19 wins without a loss in the league @NuclearManager looks like he is strolling to the finish line atop the Gold League. Still a close match with @UGotHitByGunner provided the scare to make the league much more open. Gunner sits second, still scoring well, but seems to have slowed and learnt some tact for when they need to score big. Sadly, still waiting on revenge against the league leader and will have to wait until next season now. @Berendsapje holds the third place, just outside the promotion places, only displaced by being beaten by NuclearManager and still in the hunt for the promotion places. The two who missed out from the final matches last season to get promoted to Platinum, @Connie and @Havoc273 sit side by side in fourth and fifth place. Connie could be the player who stops NuclearManager from getting the perfect season and with that, aim towards promotion. Havoc is still in the running, but has a much harder end to the season to get to the top. @Dzware having lost the first 3 matches, has climbed from the foot of the table and is currently on a small run of form and looks set to stay in the league if another couple of wins comes his way. @stupid0089 is having another up and down season but is still likely to stay in Gold league, maybe by the skin of their teeth though. At the foot of the table, @Boooda is the punching bag with 5 losses and the fourth lowest score total of all leagues. It seems like they have thrown up the white flag and is likely to go down to Silver at this rate. @TheScruffyton and @FallacyUnknown sit just above Boooda and with one win apiece are fighting between themselves to see who gets to join Boooda in Silver next season.

 

Silver League

 

In Silver, I have renamed it the Spicy League as this is where the battles rage. @Sebastian is the pretender to the throne, unbeaten and took his revenge against his great rival @Master_Mayhem_ with another unreal scoring battle. But he does not stand atop the Silver mountain alone, another is unbeaten. @ShogunCroCop has fought of many challengers including the fan favourite using what some would call 'dirty tactics' but atop the mountain he also sits. Still yet he is to battle with Sebastian and Master_M and that will be a true test of his mettle. Master_M only beaten by Sebastian holds third place waiting for a mistake from the top two or to claim it from Shogun when they meet later in the season. The fan favourite @Yuna takes a lonely fourth place, her only other defeat by @UltraDog177 who is having a great season by his standards. Yuna can still be promoted, but has to fight the top scorers of the league, a challenge indeed. @madbuk and @cjninja125 share fifth and sixth with Oskar claiming seventh with his two wins from this season. Both madbuk and cjninja look like they will be safe this season, but they have difficult opponents ahead. @Syr_Rys is getting unlucky with his matches and lost out to Yuna in the last few hours of their match. Will we see a comeback to knock someone else down to the Bronze League? @fabyRomanuls is rooted to the bottom of the league and is nearly guaranteed to be going down unless some stellar performances are coming. Finally, @freddie1989 isn't having much luck at the moment, sitting just above faby in the relegation zone. Will he escape and stay safe in Silver, or has he Houdini'd his last, we shall see.

 

Bronze League

 

Bronze is a tale of two halves. The top half trying to impress, the bottom half looking to have a chill time. @Doylus91 is leading the pack and is unbeaten so far, the only member of Bronze to do so. They still have to face challengers in the top half, will they hold onto the top spot at the end of the season. @Reinachii- and @Zephyr-pt take the next two spots, scoring big and Zephyr barely coming out on top in their matchup. Both with only one loss, they have the best chances to take promotion, especially if Doylus slips up. The final part of the top 4 is @IrishNelly, also with only one loss and sitting fourth by virtue of scoring less points in total than I did in my first match. I'm not sure how long the luck will last for, but they'll need bigger scores to compete at the sharp end. @DEMONICRUBLE18 is quite lonely being the only other competitor with more than a win and is sandwiched right in the middle. So far, the Wooden Spoon race is a very competitive one. Returning champions @RedbeardRik and @UnwaveringSoul_ have been trading last place for the last couple of rounds but are scoring generally well, so likely they will avoid the last place. @RudeDonny and @YieuY seem to have forgotten they are in a competition and have been putting up low numbers recently and are the only competitors to score a Nil Draw. That leaves @Brawler, who is having an up and down time, and stuck in no mans land in the bottom half of the table. 

 

That is the tale of the tape so far. 

Who will win the leagues and go onto the CWC?
Who will just miss out at the last possible moment?

Who will escape relegation in the dying moments?

Who will get that Wooden Spoon off @UltraDog177?

Once again a thrilling fixture!

 

@Reinachii- absolutely obliterates Doylus and takes the lead in the Bronze League!

 

High scoring match between @Sebastian and @ShogunCroCop. Seb takes the win by scoring an obscene amount of points again, taking him to a total of over 2.6k score in the season already . Shogun still managed to post his highest ever THL score in one fixture, though! Congrats to both for the impressive scores!

 

The fight for second place in the Platinum League is on now. Hope I don't still mess up somehow lol ?

 

In the Gold League @NuclearManager gets 6(!) plats in one fixture, but still only scores 225.8 points... interesting

With 2 fixtures left, the end of the season is hotting up with suprises and so many permutations it will make your head spin. Let's see where we are at:

 

so it's time to see how my predictions are holding up and who is springing suprises.

 

Platinum League

 

@Lucas is really wanting to prove me wrong this season. After fending off Prinny, he is unbeaten and now has a two win cushion. If he wins one of the final two matches, he will be crowned champion and win a maiden Platinum title. The battle for second place is still to be decided. @Wdjat Prinny Doods holds second from @Mesopithecus and myself due to scoring over 2000 points, but one slip up and anyone can take that runners up position, it all depends on who wants to score the most points. @Krazy_99 seems quite safe in the middle of the table and even if he loses the last two matches against Lucas and myself, still safe for another season in Platinum. The bottom half of the table is where it gets interesting. @Jello sits in sixth place, just hovering in points over @GTA_Darren and @Arctic Cress in seventh and eighth respectively. If Jello wins one of his matches, he is safe to stay in Platinum for another season. Arti does have arguably the hardest final two matches against myself and Meso, but winning both may be a tall order, two wins will guarantee safety. The same for Darren, except they have a much easier run in with Zone and Jello as their opponents. If either Darren or Arti win a match each and the bottom two lose both then they are safe. In the fight against relegation are @xZoneHunter and @ApriIis. To escape being relegated, they need to win both of their final two fixtures. Zone has the slightly easier last two (GTA_Darren and Prinny), but Aprilis has the top two back to back and Lucas has been waiting to face him and enact his revenge. Will he stop Lucas from his unbeaten season, we shall see.

 

Gold League

 

It finally has happened. @NuclearManager has been beaten in the League. After this shocking turn of events, Gold League has now opened up immensely with some tasty matches to determine who can take that top spot. Anorak, even beaten once, still has the throne but has now two others breathing down his neck. @UGotHitByGunner and @Berendsapje sit equal on points and either can take the crown. Gunner and Beer meet in the penultimate match up, leaving only one who can challenge for the title. If Gunner comes out on top, he just needs to outscore Anorak and will take his maiden title. Beer has the harder job of beating Connie in his final match as well and also scoring 600+ points in two matches. Stranger things have happened though. @Connie can't take the title anymore, but still has the chance of taking the final promotion spot if things go their way. At the other end, the relegation battle is heating up. @Boooda is nearly guaranteed to be in Silver next season with only a miracle keeping them in Gold. @TheScruffyton holds the other relegation place, but facing @FallacyUnknown in this penultimate fixture could give them a chance to escape and cling to Gold just like last season. Fallacy after dropping from Platinum last season is trying not to slide down another league so quickly but facing Anorak for their final match will leave other matches to save their season. @Dzware, @Havoc273 and @stupid0089 all seem safe for another season in Gold, fighting among themselves for who can finish midtable.

 

Spicy League

 

After another insane scoring round, @Sebastian is out in front and is only the second unbeaten competitor left in the competition. If he beats Yuna in the current matchup, he is nearly guaranteed to be winning Silver and moving to Gold to do the same again. @ShogunCroCop after losing out to Seb has dropped to third but still beating all his own personal records in the pursuit of promotion. Having Master_Mayhem as the next matchup will feel like Sisyphus pushing that boulder, always a struggle. @Master_Mayhem_ takes the second promotion spot away from Shogun and can cement promotion if he defeats him in their current matchup, I'm expecting a dangerously high scoring round as they throw everything to get that promotion. @Yuna has an outside chance of promotion, but with having to face Seb and Master_M in her final two matches, that will be a very tough ask. The fan favourite will not go down meekly. @Syr_Rys and @cjninja125 are both safe for another season with only the slimmest of chances that either can be relegated, I expect to see both push on next season. @fabyRomanuls has scored some points, but needing to score another 170 points to stay in the league seems a tall ask and most likely won't be here next season, good luck Mr Frog. @freddie1989 seems to have his luck running out but there is still a chance to escape, Houdini may rise again if he can beat Seb on the final match, however difficult that may be. @madbuk and @UltraDog177 can both still be relegated, one will definitely be safe as they face each other in the penultimate match and winning a match each should keep them from dropping down to Bronze. 

 

Bronze League

 

After the demolition of their unbeaten opponent, a new challenger takes the top spot. @Reinachii- after beating Doylus leads Bronze for the first time with @Zephyr-pt taking second place with points scored. The race for first place is still in full swing as the top four, including @Doylus91 and @IrishNelly have just two points between them. Nelly has the hardest route to get promotion as he has to face Reina and Doylus to have a chance at getting promoted to Silver or even the title. Even so, each one of them has an equal chance to get into Silver. The bottom half the league is all quite chill, but anyone can still get the dreaded wooden spoon. @UnwaveringSoul_ currently has last place, but with one win will relinquish that to @RudeDonny (who hasn't scored any points for a couple of fixtures). @DEMONICRUBLE18 and @RedbeardRik sit just above them, seemingly safe for another season from being branded with the spoon, hopefully next season will be more fruitful. @YieuY after waking up last fixture is set to finish midtable alongside @Brawler who has had some up and down performances in the league this season.

With 10 days until the CWC starts, who will win their leagues and prove who is the best in an all out brawl?

Who gets a personalised Wooden Spoon that I will carve specially?

Will Sebastian reach 3000 points in a season and be the all time top scorer for a season?

Would have liked to put more of an effort in this season, but unfortunately work and traveling made it impossible to stay competitive. Still out of the country as of now and won't be back until the final day of the last fixture.

 

Still, can't promise I won't try break @Lucas winning streak ?.
