Trophy Hunters League - Season 39

 

Welcome to the Trophy Hunters League! A multi-league trophy hunting tournament that has been around on PSNProfiles since 2014! Whether you are a returning THL veteran or just viewing this thread for the very first time, welcome! Join us as we head towards the next iteration of the league. Below you will find all the information you may need when participating in this league. There is a lot of information to go over so don't hesitate to ask whatever questions you might have! 

 

League setup

 

In the Trophy Hunters League, players are divided into seperate divisions based or their placement in the previous season. Currently, there are four different divisions. The highest division is called the Platinum League. Besides the Platinum League, there's also the Gold League, the Silver League and the Bronze League. Participants play 9 rounds, dependant on the amount of players per division. Each participant faces every other participant in their division once. Dependant on their final score in a round, league points are awarded. More about scoring below. After 9 rounds, the winner of each division moves onto the CWC. More about the CWC below. Once the season has come to an end, the top two players of each league get promotion to a higher league, and the bottom two players of each league get relegation to a lower league.

 

 

League rules

 

To ensure a fair and fun competition, the THL has a few rules.

 

1. Rounds, also referred to as fixtures, last 4 days each. The starting time for a round is always the same. Rounds start at 12:00AM UTC+0:00 and end exactly 4 days later.

2. Once a round is over, players have exactly 12 hours to completely sync their trophies with PSN if they haven't done so already. Trophies that are synced after this deadline will not count for their score.

3. Scores for fixtures are locked in 24 hours after the scores are released. If you disagree with your score or think an error was made during the counting process, you need to contact a league staff member within 24 hours after the score release. A full list of staff members can be found below.

4. If a player scores 0 points for the first 5 fixtures, they will be deemed inactive for the remainder of the season and automatically removed at the end of the season.

5. Any player that scores less than 200 score over the course of the season, will receive a private message asking them to re-confirm their place for the following season. These players will have 96 hours to respond. Failure to do so will result in a force-retirement. After forced retirement, the player can rejoin the league again after one season has passed.

6. League staff has the right to grant or deny players access to the league at all times. When there is sufficient evidence to suspect cheating is involved, the concerned player may be banned from the league.

 

 

League scoring

 

The two main ways of scoring in the THL are league points and individual score. League points are awarded after every round. You gain 2 league points for a win, 1 for a draw* and 0 for a loss. These league points are the main determining factor for player positioning in the division. More on that below.

 

Individual score is what determines whether or not a participants wins their fixture.  Bronze trophies are worth 1 point each,  Silver trophies are worth 2 points each,  Gold trophies are worth 6 points each and  Platinum trophies are worth 12 points each. On top of these base scores for every trophy, a rarity bonus will be applied. This rarity bonus is based on the PSNProfiles trophy rarity. Common trophies get a 1 point bonus, uncommon trophies get a 1.5 point bonus, rare trophies get a 3 point bonus, very rare trophies get a 6 point bonus and ultra rare trophies get a 9 point bonus.

 

Example: You have earned 3 trophies this round. Your first trophy is a 78.99%  trophy, your other trophy is a 5.02%  trophy and a 4.99%  trophy. The bronze trophy is common, the gold trophy is very rare and the platinum trophy is ultra rare. This means that the bronze trophy is worth 2 points (1+1), the gold trophy is worth 12 points (6+6) and the platinum trophy is worth 21 points (12+9). Your total score for this round will be 35 points (2+12+21).

 

IMPORTANT! Trophies will only count towards your score when the following criteria are met:

- The game in which trophies are earned has a completion time of at least 6 hours in the top 50 fastest achievers. If the 50th time on this leaderboard is 5 hours and 59 minutes or faster, the trophies in this game will not count towards your final score. Do note that your own completion time does not necessarily have to be over 6 hours for the game to count. 

Additionally, the game has a completion time of at least 1 hour as the 1st time on the fastest achievers leaderboard. If the 1st time time is 59 minutes and 59 seconds or faster, the trophies in this game will not count towards your final score.

- Games that are can be auto-popped / have a cross-save feature (Motorstorm RC, Spider-Man Miles Morales, etc.) are treated a little differently. Auto-popping a game will never grant you any points. However, earning trophies in a game that has the cross-save feature could still net you points. If the 50 fastest time that are not auto-popped in a cross-saveable game are at least 6 hours and you have earned the trophies in a legitimate manner yourself, you will be awarded points the same way as usual. We understand that this rule might be especially confusing to some. If you have a question about this one, don't hestitate to ask!

- Only one stack per game counts towards your score in a season. Playing different versions (different region or platform) of the same game is allowed, but only the trophies earned in the first stack of the game that you played will count towards your score.

 

* = Regarding 0-0 ties:

- If one of the participants is inactive, it will change to a 1-0 automatic win for the active participant.

- If a 0-0 tie occurs between two participants who are already deemed inactive, it will not count towards the standings.

- In any other case, a 0-0 tie is considered a legitimate tie, and 1 point will be awarded to both participants. If one of the active players is deemed inactive later in the season, they lose their 1 tie point, but the active player keeps their 1 tie point.

 

 

Player positioning

 

Player postioning in divsions is based on the following criteria:

- Amount of league points earned in the season
- Average individual score in the season

- Amount of platinum trophies earned in the season
- Head to head result

 

 

CWC

 

Finally, the CWC. The CWC is what decides the ultimate winner of the season. Once the main season is concluded, all division winners will face off in a final battle to decide who takes home the season title.

 

- The CWC starts with the four division winners and ends once there is only one left standing.

- Rounds in the CWC last 1 day each. The player with the lowest score after that day gets eliminated.

- CWC rounds run back to back. To make sure that we know who survived the round as soon as possible, players have exactly 1 hour to completely sync their trophies with PSN for their trophies to count, as opposed to the usual 12 hours.

- In the unusual scenario that the two lowest scoring players in a round finish with exactly the same score, the player with the higher platinum trophy count in that round survives and proceeds to the next round. If both players have the same platinum count in that round, they both survive the round and two players are eliminated in the next round.

- Besides this, all the same rules from the main season apply here.

Welcome to The Trophy Hunters League. This is a multi-league based system with promotions and relegations. As it is already in play and full, if you wish to join you will have to request to be put down on the waiting list . If you are European, think of it like football, and if you are American, think of it like soccer . You should be able to grasp pretty easily how it works. More specific information/rules can be found below.

Rules:

1.  Once you have played a certain game, with the same title and the same base trophies, in one particular season, you cannot play that game on any other systems or any other versions such as the Japanese version again in the same season. Well, you can, but you won't get any points for it.  Example: You play √Root Letter EU version on PS4 and get points for it; if you then play the Vita version in the same season, you won’t get any points for it. 

2. If you cross-save a game, it won't grant you any points (Motorstorm RC, Sound Shapes, etc.)

3. Fixtures last for 4 days each and run straight through from one another.

4. Any game, which is not 'cross-saveable', that has a 50th place in the top 50 fastest achievers with a time of 6 hours or under will not be counted. There will be no exceptions to this, including spots on the leaderboard you suspect to have been hacked.

 

5. (NEW RULE AS PER SEASON 24)  A rarity bonus will be applied to every trophy, as follows:

Common x1

Uncommon x1.3

Rare x1.5

Very Rare x3

Ultra Rare x6

 

This bonus will be added to their base score. For example, if a participant scores 1 bronze, 1 silver, 1 gold, and 1 plat, and they are all Common rarity, the score will be 1 + 2 + 6 + 12 (base points) = 19 + (4 * 1) = 23. This is because they had 4 trophies, all Common (x1 rarity). If a participant earns an ultra rare plat, their score would be 12 (for the platinum) + 6 (for the rarity) = 18. If you earned an ultra rare plat, UR bronze, UR silver, and UR gold, it would be (1 + 2 + 6 + 12) + (4*6), since there are 4 trophies earned with the UR bonus of 6. So you get the rarity for each trophy earned. I can give further examples in the thread, if necessary.

6. Players must sync. their profiles on PSN within 12 hours of a fixture end for their earned trophies to count.

7.Scores for fixtures are locked-in after 24 hours of a result release. If you know there is an incorrect score, you must notify a score admin or the league runner immediately.

8. Any player that scores less than 120 score over the course of the season, will receive a private message asking them to re-confirm their place for the following season. These players will have 48 hours to respond. Failure to do so will result in a force-retirement. You can only do this one time in a row since scoring less than 120 points for two seasons in a row will result in force-retirement. You can rejoin the league again after one season has passed.

9. Players are only eligible to join if they posses one of the following:

- 50 forum posts and 15 platinums
- 25 forum posts and 40 platinums

10. You gain 2 league points for a win, 1 for a draw* and 0 for a loss. The points system will be:

- Bronze - 1pt
- Silver - 2pts
- Gold - 6pts
- Platinum - 12pts

*For more info on 0-0 draws, see rule 15.

11. League positioning is worked out through the following means:

- Amount of points earned in the season
- Average individual score

- Amount of platinums earned in the season
- Head to head result

 

12. To earn promotion to a higher league, you have to finish in the top 2 in the league you're currently in. If you finish in one of the two bottom spots of your league, you'll be relegated to a lower league.

13. If you score 0 points for the first 5 fixtures, you will be deemed inactive for the remainder of the season and automatically removed at the end of the season. You must wait at least a full season before being able to return. You won't automatically be added back to the league and have to request to join again.
 

14. Anyone who wishes to join the league on a new/alternate account is able to do so with a few restrictions:

 

- Only one account switch is allowed per person (midseason or between seasons). You can't switch accounts a second time, not to a new account but also not back to an old account for the duration of your time in THL. Example: if you switch midseason, any other switches, midseason or otherwise, in any given season, is not allowed.

- The new account has to meet the '40 platinums on that account' requirement, just like new particpants with 25 forum posts have to meet as per rule #9 for any new season.

- If a current participant wishes to switch to another account, he will be placed in the lowest league when he starts his first season with the new account.

 

15. (NEW RULE AS PER SEASON 26)  Regarding 0-0 ties:

 

-If one of the participants is inactive, it will change to a 1-0 automatic win for the active participant.

-If a 0-0 tie occurs between two participants who are already deemed inactive, it will not count towards the standings.

-In any other case, a 0-0 tie is considered a legitimate tie, and 1 point will be awarded to both participants, as per Rule 10. If one of the active players is deemed inactive later in the season, they lose their 1 tie point, but the active player keeps their 1 tie point.

CWC Rules:

1. Rules 1, 2, 4 and 5 seen above, also apply directly to the CWC.

2. Rule 6 as seen above is applied to the CWC but with the syncing time after the fixture being 2 hours. If you cannot sync. within 2 hours of fixture end, then sync. at your last available playing time beforehand.

3. Rule 7 as seen above is applied to the CWC but with the lock-in time being 2 hours after result release.

4. The winner of every league qualifies for the CWC. The length of the CWC depends on the amount of leagues during that season. In the event that there are only two leagues in a season, the top 2 of both leagues will qualify for the CWC.

5. CWC rounds last for one day and consist of 4 or 5 (dependant on the amount of leagues) competitors simultaneously. After the end of each round, one player is eliminated until a winner is found.

6. In the unlikely event of 2 players drawing on score in any given round, the tie breaker decider is on the amount of platinums earned in that round. If it still remains a tie, then no players are eliminated and instead, 2 players are eliminated at the end of the next round.

7. A draw in the final will result in a 1 day extension of the CWC. If it remains a draw, the players will continue to battle day after day until a winner is found.

Conns League thing is a list of stats that come with a most improved with crossover leagues, mine is more of a consistency league with promotion rewards for those that continue to show that they have what it takes to earn big trophies, its just a bit of fun tbh, with a different flavour to what conn has going  . I guess what i mean is you always have to be on the ball with this league where as with conn's, i could not do anything for a week, and not drop any places atall potentially. I love what Conn has going, i just wanted to add something a bit different.

I'd like to sign up, but I got a quick question.. Is the "match" Monday to Friday? Or could it run over the weekend too? I dont have loads of time due to looking after my kids and working so I'll end up in the lower leagues lol. Looking forward to it though.

It will always be a run through, this is the projected fixture list, dates of course aren't accurate as i dont know when it will start yet:

 

10th - 14th April - Fix set 1

15th - 19th April - Fix Set 2

20th - 24th April - Fix set 3

25th - 29th April - Fix set 4

30th April - 4th May - Fix set 5

5th - 9th May - Fix set 6

10th - 14th May - Fix set 7

15th - 21st May - League winners Cup

22nd - 25th May - Season Break

26th May - New season starts.

Thats what i thought too, the best thing is, you never know really how well your opponent is doing, so it maes you want to do better yourself!
