princexedar
Hey, I've just recently got myself a Vita and am wanting to grab some VN games that never got English translations. A few of them ive noticed have fan translations available. Does anyone know if this causes any issues with Playstation or PSNP for my account? EqualityEarth
You can just use the google translate app’s camera mode. It works pretty well.
Zid960
I'm pretty sure the ability to read it what going ingame. Has no bearing on the trophy or how fast you can hit the next page button. So I doubt it. Psnp mainly only care if it something that pop a trophy. Or if you have the ability too. Some kind of (no no) mod. PlayStation only care if there losing money or your gaining it off them. Piracy and popping trophys for money. At least from when I'm seen online.
Popular Post DrBloodmoney
90% of PSNP users playing VN’s skip the dialogue so quick that they wouldn’t notice if was in Japanese, English, Swahili or Klingon. Furiously tapping is the same in every language 😂 6

If they require CFW or other hacks to get working on your console, you will be flagged for cheating and told to hide the lists.

Not quite. It would only be flagged if it made the trophies faster to obtain. If all it did was translate the game to English, it wouldn't be a legitimate flag reason. There's nothing in the rules against translating games...

Spoiler No, you can't because South Africa (ZA) is the only country in the continent of Africa with PlayStation Network support. The site can't see if you modify it for say the translation or some other thing to pop the trophies faster. So it's treated as you did the worst thing as they don't know. So unless the site say this hack is ok. Cuz I can't mess with trophies. Basically we need a thread for (legal) hacks only. To spell it out. Really? Because I’ve read multiple posts that this site doesn’t care about using CFW on a vita to play roms, like this one here: Got a feeling if you were to look through the top of the leaderboards you wouldn’t have to look very hard to find people obviously using a modded vita either. Look at this game for example, a digital only release that only came out in NA and EU: https://psnprofiles.com/game-leaderboard/2399-txk How are all these people playing it without a NA or EU account? If not a modded vita. Edited September 13 by Mr_Fluffy_Pants_

I don’t own a vita personally so I didn’t know what this trick is, but after googling I highly doubt most people are doing that when they can mod their vita easier and faster. Surely you agree some of them are playing it on a modded vita. Edited September 13 by Mr_Fluffy_Pants_

I seriously doubt a member of CRT is dense enough to make the claim that exploiting a system app is the same as installing CFW. Do you have a source, or would any member of CRT care to confirm/deny such a wild statement? Edited September 13 by Helyx

Make no mistake, using a local exploit isn't the same as deliberately installing CFW on your Vita. No matter what obscure logic used, it's not the same thing and @B1rvine was probably just providing a short answer rather than delving into the specifics of what is/isn't h4cK1nG for the sake of shutting those particular disputes down. This isn't exactly what he's asking. The VN will run fine on an unmodified Vita, he is just asking if he can use CFW to download a language patch so that he can play it in English. Don't see the issue there. On 9/10/2023 at 2:00 AM, Helyx said: Nobody would know unless you told them... This is the answer. I don't believe having CFW on your Vita is an issue. Using the CFW to manipulate and/or unlock trophies, is against the rules. The leaderboards have tons of hackers that use the CFW to pop numerous plats in seconds. That is going to get you banned. As long as the game runs on an unmodified Vita, and all trophies can be unlocked, using CFW so you can use a fan translation shouldn't be an issue. The definitions of “hacking” or “modding” can be broad in general, but both are loosely synonymous in a way. The Vita is being exploited to utilize it in a way unintended, which is what a basic dictionary definition of these words are. So while the “Vita trick” is definitely not the same as CFW installation, it is a form of hacking. The rules can always be picked apart for grey areas no matter how it’s written, but the CRT’s stance is any user created code/exploit/tool/etc that alters the PlayStation system, game, or developer “functions” (e.g. servers/websites), should be flaggable. As stated in the quoted message, the staff feel the most important part of gaming is, well, being able to play games. This is also why some 3rd party servers are allowed. Other considerations need to be addressed as well such as fairness or legal concerns. Ultimately, PSNP does not condone usage of the “Vita trick”, because it is against Sony’s TOS, and it is “hacking”, but you won’t be flagged either. Z1MZUM
If you work out how to do it then try Blue reflection with translation, Not a Novel but a great game. I have ben using a whitelisted Vita TV for years with no negative consequence, the ability to play games that Sony blocked is worth it.
Meikoro
awwww.... and i was thinking someone finally would start to make new guides of the games with english translations. psntl is realy slow and what they import from ps3imports is more a mess than a actual database, i was thinking in porting the guides in someway in a proper site like psnp. Or at least new releases. When i get a new release an can write a guide, i would love it to share it here at some point. (yeah im one of the 10% User who full read the VN's and translate. Sometimes simple google will do it, most of it i understand on the way.
