PS3 online 2023

Does anyone know of any PS3 games with multiplayer that still have active servers? I'm looking for games that doesn't require too many players and aren't too much of a grind. I've done Assassin's Creed, Battlefield, BioShock, Borderlands, Call of Duty, Crysis, Dead Island, Far Cry, F.E.A.R. Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, Resident Evil but am looking for some games but not interested in Destiny or Payday and just curious of anyone knows of any games worth playing.

UFC 2009 Undisputed

 

Not many players online, so you can grind out wins with a boosting partner, without interruption. Nice Ultra Rare platinum too...

 

I've completed all the online trophies, just got to get back to it at some stage to do the offline trophies.

I've looked upon my trophy list to see which ones you could try and get, but I believe you already got most of what I've got, so my suggestion is go for fighting games, most of them are still up usually only require 2 players to get most online trophies.

I've looked at the trophy guides for the Sniper Elite series and am possibly interested in going through them from PS3 to PS5

To add to my recommendation of UFC 2009 Undisputed - most 2nd hand places will be selling it for $1.00!!

Tomb Raider (2016) has a multiplayer component that is entirely soloable. AFAIK its bugged in a good way and you can do it if you follow a guide

Minecraft's ps3 version (specifically DLC pack 5 and 8 )i believe can be boosted with 3 controllers or 3 players

You can't solo all of Tomb Raider's MP, because there is 1 trophy (I'm all that!) that needs 4 players, plus at least 1 other (Master Blaster) that needs 3.

Need for Speed Rivals, Ratchet & Clank All 4 One and Full Frontal Assault, Sniper Elite V2, Truck Racers, Ride, Gat out of Hell,

No offense but most of the games listed here don't even have servers. Most of them are p2p lobbies with matchmaking handled by PSN and stats are saved locally. The only true server-based games that are left are mostly from EA, Activision, and Ubisoft. From EA, Autolog games such as NFS Most Wanted, Rivals, and Hot Pursuit, DirtNet games such as GRID 2 and GRID Autosport, and RiderNet game SSX. From Activision, there are mostly CoD games except MWs plus Destiny. Ubisoft is another story they close the servers and bring them back up but you can look at Driver San Francisco, Assassins Creed 3, Revelations, Black Flag, Ghost Recon Future Soldier. You can also find a couple of obscure games that are still running some kind of server such as Cuboid, Infamous 2/ Festival of Blood. This is of course not a complete list. Feel free to add actual server-based games. Be aware some of these games are hard to find even unobtainable if you didn't buy them in time such as GRIDs.

Brink is still up but that game is a turd.

All of the Saints Row games are still up.

Red Faction games are still up. As are many fighting games like Tekken (not all), Street Fighter, Marvel vs Capcom, Soul Calibur. Outside of that there is also Split/Second still going strong.

 

And sometimes you are in for a surprise when you find out that a game like Super Rub a Dub still has an active leaderboard (last time I checked).

Not quite, the PS3 versions of 3 and 4 require a custom server to get the character upload trophy done, because the official upload servers were nuked years ago .

I was under the assumption that he meant online gameplay servers. The Third and IV's co-op modes are still up.

I don't think the OP cares if it's a "Server" hosted by the publisher, are P2P, or is hosted on Sony's (non?) "servers". Seems he just wants to know what PS3 games worth playing can still be played/completed online. Interesting thing to get hung up on.

COD servers are still running but they are broken badly, specially if you changed your name.

 

Battlefield 3 is still running and that amazed me, you can get a match no problem. The sonic racing games as already mentioned.

 

The PS3 will never die.

Sadly, they're also riddled with hackers and other cheats, plus BLOPS 2 is unPlatable because the Big Leagues trophy is unobtainable .

I just assumed if someone cares about PS3 online in 2023 you would assume they will start from the game that is in danger of being truly closed plus listing games as "server up and running" that don't have any servers triggers me. My bad

It's such a shame, I want to play on Playstation though I'm on Xbox playing the CODS instead.

A few might already have been mentioned but you can still do: Dante's Inferno (untill december 8th 2023, need 2 players), Enemy Front (need 4 players), Red Faction Armageddon (need 4 players), Sniper Ghost warrior (need 4 players), Sniper Ghost warrior 2 (need 2 players), Tomb Raider (needs 4 players), Call of Juarez Bound in Blood (need 4 players), Call of Juarez the Cartel (need 3 players), Blades of Time (needs 2 players),  FEAR 3 (need 2 players), Resident Evil operation Raccoon city (need 4 players), Lord of the rings war in the north (need 3 players), London 2012 olympic games (need 2 players), Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist (need 2 players?), Rogue Warrior (need 5 players + servers are region locked so you need players on same continent), Harry Potter and the deatlhy hallows part 1 (can do by yourself but need a person on your friendlist to compare scores, this is an EA game and will likely go offline soon since EA is purging their PS3 servers) Battlefield 3 and 4, Sniper Elite V2 and 3, All call of Duty's except for Black Ops 2 are fully obtainable.

 

When I listed the number of players I meant including yourself, so when it says needs 2 players I mean yourself and 1 other.

I hope this gives somebody some PS3 inspiration.

You need 3 players for "Support Ops".

I usually keep an eye out for server shutdowns and prioritize them, but there are plenty of games still working, even weird / small ones. You do need to keep track of them and check recent achievers, but the platform as a whole is far from dead.

 

I think Peace Walker is still up, has a good trick for boosting, we're doing Dante's Inferno's 15 co-op challenges, I'm eyeing the Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection, some of the Sonic games are still online... yeah, just inform yourself, create boosting sessions, we're still playing.
