To everyone who joins boosting sessions without speaking the bare minimum of english and without a mic:

Its been a while since i boosted with someone from another country/language, its annoying in games like FIFA that for many trophies you need to be from the same country in order for matchmaking to begin, but that being said, i dont have problems with people speaking other language, or being quiet.

I remember when i joined a group for the paladins trophies and some people didnt speak much, just basic stuff, and thats not bad because everyone got the trophies they wanted because everyone did a great job when server paired us

If someone refuses a mic, ok but I am not going to read 100 messages on a second screen while we play and try to get the trophy.

I encountered these problems quite often. It is 2023 people are either introverted, socially awkward or claim to not have a mic which literally was shipped with every PS4 out of the box (correct me if I am wrong on this).

Though voice chat with many different people can also get chaotic, because everyone talks instead of listening to the host...

I agree on the English part, but not about the mic. There are several other ways to communicate, such as Discord.

The biggest problem are the assholes who leave after getting their Trophies without helping back.

I remember boosting tomb raider with group of hispanic speakers that had no mics, a guy speaking both but not very good english and few english speakers.

They texted him and he translated how he could. It worked out.

Unless game requires perfect communication lenguage barrier is not a problem for a willing person

I for one hate boosting mainstream games.

Many people never boosted a game before. Require mic to talk about their life not a game (because nothing that would require talking happens in the game)

I have never boosted using a mic and it pretty much always worked out fine. In the cases where it didn't work, a language barrier or absence of mics were definitely not the problem.

What you need is people who are motivated and know what they are doing. If you need to explain tactics during the session itself, you are doing it wrong.

It seems that most of you guys do not know how to use the features on this site do you? You can open a boosting session and specifically demand for people to use a mic or have knowledge for said game.

Stop blaming your own incompetence on peoples personality traits and social issues like are you serious? From time to time you will have bad boosting experience. It happened to me with destiny as well. Took me forever to do wrath of the machine on heroic because one guy messed his part up, but guess what, IT HAPPENS.

I know very well how to use the Features of this site.

And despite me writing that a mic is needed for my boosting sessions or other requirements,I believe even native english speakers either suffer from a weakness in reading or are simply too incompetent to follow instructions.

I never join boosting sessions I host all myself.

Its not a one time thing it happens constantly.

Coming on time, listening and being cooperative is what most players lack.

I speak from experience and I have every right to call this socially awkward.

If you d behave on work like this u d get fired.

But these days u cant call out anything ,u ll get cancelled for any opinion .

Also how can u call me incompetent, you don't know me or ever boosted with me😂

I have enough people who know that I am competent enough to organize big groups for a boost, filtering out incompetent players, having clear communication, efficient planning.

Having to waste life time for low quality players is nothing which you should just brush off with "it happens'.

I assume u got a lot of time to spare.

1. You don't. If you did you would not have that problem at all.

2. And yet here you are even after telling them to have a mic, you still give them the chance to play with them? You took the risk, it is a you problem.

3. Even worse if you host them and fail like this.

4. That means you failed in looking for the right boosting people. If it is always this bad, at one point, it just can't be everyone else but you.

5. Most players? A handful sure, but most? At this point ask yourself what kind of boosting sessions you hold then.

6. I do not care about your rights or your opinion about social awkwardness. Arguments like this are the worst ones.

7.  Not going to reply to that one, because this one is just nonsense.

8. You can, but people will disagree with certain things you say. And you know what it is called, having also an opinion.

Edit:

Your incompetence has nothing do with how good you are as an individual in boosting session. Don't twist my words.

Low quality players? You must be a elite player for calling others low quality players.

How would you know if i have time to spare. What exactly has this to do with boosting sessions. If you fail one you make another for another time, easy as that.

As someone who is heavily introverted and has anxiety, I find it very difficult to want to use a mic with people I'm boosting with unless it's friends or people I feel comfortable with. It's not like I refuse to use a mic, I join a party but muted if I have to, and I do what I have to do to help people. Whether I talk to them or not doesn't make a difference to knowing what I have to do to help people in the session.

I was expecting nothing but a low quality response, someone who doesn't give anything about wasting time for a task which could ve be done if all participants were qualified enough.

Actually my sessions ban lists outweigh the joined players by double.

At some point if someone tells you they gonna join but they don't join or they don't do because they don't listen has nothing to do with me being "incompetent".

Do we have stats here to see how reliable people are?No.

Can I force somebody to show up? no

Can I force people to turn on their brain? No.

And it is most players that's for sure.

I hold boosting sessions were we make date and time and talk about what's needed in order to get thing rolling.People need to do two things show up and do what trophies require you to do.But that's too much for most.

They just wanna grab the trophy and leave u behind (this is a common practice here).

And again you can't tell by someone's profile if they re a good player for boosting or not.

I m not an "Elite player", it's not hard to be a good player once the brain is utilized.

But we'll your equation is:

Session of host fails bcz of incompetent players = host is incompetent.

With such a logic you just keep beating around the bush.

At least you gave me a laugh with this funny comment, thanks for that.

Your job as a host is to make sure that things work, regardless if you are the cause of fail or not. You sound like some petty, perfect guy who expects everything to work the very first time. I don't know with what kind of people you boost but certainly not with those i boost. I never experienced hard fails to the point where my ego takes me to eleven and calls other players "low quality".

My logic is not Incompetent players = Host is incompetent. My logic is Host is complaining because the session did not work out the way it should = Incompetent Host. I genuinely feel bad for those who boost with you. Someone who calls others "low quality" players can't be taken seriously.

Edit: Don't bother replying, the talk is over for me.

Thats why I didnt join a lot of sessions in the past, because a lot of games that could be done with just minimal instructions or maybe a discord chat but then people demanding mic... Mic for making an stupid boosting session of a fighting game? And then when you hear them talking they are just talking of whatever shit its come to mind besides the actual boosting...

Huge respect to @Letenko that run a Batman Arkham Origins boosting session on discord without mics, since it seems to be impossible for some people...

I like threads on org better for this reason people are less anal and want* it done.

found a Japanese player to help Tekken Tag Tournament 2, and he was super patient with my internet often cutting connection every few rounds. Took ages too.

Trying to coordinate shit sucks. Probably why so many who start one don’t seem to do anything. At least from my experience. Especially when you need more than one other player.

If you want only English speakers, put that in the description in the boosting season otherwise dont cry.

Hasn't changed a thing in my experience, fwiw

Like the fact that someone can't speak or read English has not suddenly allowed them to read my English description

The onus is on them to translate what MY writing says but they won't do that either half the time

Took me 2 1/2 years to finish RDR, for example, because of how popular it is and how much of a language barrier there was in half the sessions I was in or made

This is a legit issue, and I would imagine the whiteknighting comes from a place of anecdotal inexperience with the problem

If you open up to any taker online for your objectives, communication is key prior to the time you want to start working on things, as well as making your parameters clear. You have to give yourself that opportunity to find out when the other player generally responds (keep time zone differences in mind always, check the other person’s flag!), or to be more precise, whether they will respond via a mobile app at all. Some people don’t reply to anything on the app, for you to later find a string of lovely messages berating you in your console’s inbox.

These days I do everything multiplayer related with a group of awfully forgiving souls for friends, despite some wild miscalculations on my part in a game or two. They were all met through this site, but as in life outside, you may have to pass by many others before you find the right people for you.

You can of course cut a lot of dealings with partners out of the process (depends on how far you want to take it with the online trophies) by investing in extra hardware, but the higher headcount trophies will still creep up on you and you’ll have to be capable of working things out with other people eventually. You can keep playing checkers or you can start playing chess. Friends have a way of blurring the line between the possible and the impossible.

Agree with every word of this. I have the same problem and I've done the same in the past for boosting sessions with no issues.

I had some boosting sessions of my own being a disaster because either I wanted to boost at night time and people were Europeans, or just some people never respond like @DIEHARD2015 (same player never responded or messaged on the boosting groups I was in.)

I also tried constantly finding people to boost games like Battlefield Hardline for that one base game online trophy until I managed to get a good group to be done with the trophy. That applies with lesser known games with a dead multiplayer like Tron Evolution but took a few days to find a player, and even I helped out two other people with the online.

I do not do boosting sessions that require a bunch of people mostly these days. I host sessions for smaller, and easier games.

Well I've boosted with Germans, Japanese, Italians and Chinese citizens no problem. With Demons souls I handed over the Friendship ring to a German guy in replacement for some slabs and the only English the guy said was "The Ring" thinking I wasn't going to give it when it was just our connection. No one else spoke English, it was fine. In fact I find this topic to be pretty offensive.

In my experience 9/10 times the boosting sessions on this site are awful. Either when I host one or join one.

People not showing up, people leaving when they get their trophies, people not accepting friend requests, I could go on..

I don’t play many online games but whenever I have online trophies to do the first thing I do is go through my PSN friend list and ask around there.

I try to avoid PSNP boosting sessions like the plague.

I feel exactly the same way like you.

This is common practice on this site.

It doesnt matter how well I prepare and plan everything.

The same people who left me behind come begging to join my session on another game,

when I explain to them that the last boost was nothing but a waste, they come with excuses and at times get aggressive (for their own incompetence).

Tho there is a handful of top tier players I played with from this site here and we boosted many games together.

Been sticking together until we had enough players for weeks and months.

Some people also backed out when they saw that the boost is more than the shovel ware games they normally "played"

I joined twice and we only used chat, had a good time. The first one was with Uno and everything went well, then with F1 2022 which was fun and we were making jokes in the middle of the race through the chat, I'm glad they also were a F1 fan. Maybe you should put a "only english speaker" notice, and everything should go fine
