Though I never owned a PS2, I played my mom's GameCube during this era, my top 5 cross plats that would be available on the PS2 would be:

  • Prince of Persia: Warrior Within
  • Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
  • Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones
  • James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing (my favorite 007 game of all time)
  • Medal of Honor: European Assault

Other notable games include:

Goldeneye Rogue Agent

Mega Man X Collection

Mega Man Anniversary Collection

Splinter Cell Double Agent

Medal of Honor Frontline (this was released as an HD remake on PSN)

Medal of Honor Rising Sun

Pac Man World 2

The Onimusha series, Tenchu Wrath of Heaven, Tenchu Fatal Shadows, Grandia 3, Valkyrie Profile 2 Silmeria, Star Ocean til the End of Time, Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fnatasy VII. I can go on and on. Hoping some of these become remastered for the PS3.

  • Dark Cloud series (like everyone else mentioned, can't praise these games enough!)

  • Rogue Galaxy (very underrated compared to Level-5's Dark Cloud Series. Overall, 3 of the best games for PS2)

  • Viewtiful Joe (just the 1st one, the 2nd one kind of sucks IMO :P Plus, you can unlock Dante as a playable character from DMC!)

  • Klonoa 2 (very underrated game, one of my favorite all-time platformers)

  • FFVII: Dirge of Cerberus (this is a love hate game, you'll either love it or hate it. I loved it!)
