I want to say 2 things, although I just started this difficulty right now, probably most of you know them already but others may not:

1- you can freeze the QTEs with XMB menu, by this way you can easily see which button you must press, just use the XMB when the button to press should appear, then disable it & start tapping the button needed as fast as you can

2- to skip cutscenes, go into Pause, Settings, & enable the Skip Events setting (so you can skip them with the pause button), surely after the first run you don't want to watch all the scenes again

edit: done this mode, it wasn't particularry hard for me, I used 14 continues.

Addictional tips:

  • if you stay behind a repair or a wall, the zombies won't follow you, use this easy strategy to pass a lot of fights without problems.
  • I farmed 50.000 chips (I found a Casino only during part 2, when you automatically go down into the Purgatory), at the end of the game I had around 2.5millions of yen left, so I guess that you can stop at 25.000-30.000 chips as the guide says
  • personally I upgrated once the magnum, the Goda machine to the max (by this way, at the end of the game Goda was actually a very good partner), the standar pistol of all characters (except Akiyama) to the next level (however it wasn't important, I almost never used it because of the magnum), & the carabine that you can buy from Kamiyama which I upgrated to the next level (I prefered this weapon instead of the regular sniper for Kiryu). That's all, I haven't upgrated some weapons to the max only because I hadn't enough materials
  • the guide says to buy a grenade launcher, I wasn't convinced about this weapon & I never used it, I prefered the normal grenades (not the heavy ones, which I haven't tried, maybe they are better...), they are helpful if you are surrounded & you need a space where to escape, just throw it as much close to you as you can & the explosion should let you free from the enemies. I used this tactic very few times but it can help, it is crucial while protecting the purgatory, when you are in a small place where you must survive with Akiyama for some minutes
  • I upgrated the abilities recommended from the guide, but I focused especially on the inventary slot
  • I upgrated as much as I could, thanks to the recipes that I managed to find, the armor (I ignored that piece of cotton or whatever it is, I focused only on the jacket, because you can't equip both)
  • in the final part, I use the anti-material rifle against mutants or if Dora was stucked by zombies, if he has the full upgrated machine is important keep him alive, so don't ignore him
  • you can skip some fights, do it only if the situation is clearly fucked, for you &/or your partner. in this case, your partner can be a good bait, while he attracts the enemies you can run to the target

I used almost always the magnum, switching to another weapon (shotgun, machine of rifle) if there were too many zombies at once (& without can repair behind something) or if I had to kill a mutant.

The penultimate boss of the game was the only thing that gave me some problems, I used several healing items.

Other bossess are easy to read, theyr attacks may look complicated but actually they aren't, if you learn them you can avoid them with good dodges (don't use the dodge about the jump behind, use the laterals one, except for very few situations), in case you get hit don't worry, you should carry healing items which can avoid you to die too often & in case you die, the checkpoints are the same like the lower difficulties, there isn't a game over which forces you to load the last save.

In this difficulty you cause the same damage as the Normal run, & I haven't noticed great difference about the strenght of the enemies attack, maybe they are the same or different of almost anything, what is rilevant is that the enemies are much more agressive, but if you are a zombie fan then they shouldn't prevent you from completing this mode.

If you are stucked, refer to this playlist although is a speedrun, it shows you how to pass easily some parts, for example the part 1 of Kiryu.

Confirming in 2022 as well, @LunchCannon54 guide is on point ? mega thanks for the post.

I also recommend using the shotgun,it's amazing for running and gunning sections, you don't need to aim, just stand in front of the zombies and shoot.

The only thing that I did different was using a sniper for Basan fight (it does a crapton of damage if you hit the red orb from his chest and the ammo consumption is minimal), also if you aim well you can shoot Basan down with your shotgun while he is gliding around, allowing you to pelt him with bullets or even use a Tandem snipe heat action with the other 2 companions.

Other than that, great guide, Dead Souls mode was actually fun (minus Ryuji chapter 1, his gatling gun kinda sucks)
