Popular Post Bartolomeus
-- 34th platinum Dragon Age II I'll put the words I write about the game in spoiler tags, despite there being no spoilers. It'll be easier for those who have no interest in reading my words to scroll by. Well, two Dragon Age games down, one to go. Compared with the amazing Dragon Age: Origins this game was a little underwhelming. I understand why they scaled everything down - this game serves as a narrative build-up for Inquisition - but that doesn't change the feeling of disappointment, particularly in the earlier hours of the game. Especially the lack of interesting areas to explore hurt this game. The game takes place in the city of Kirkwall and its surrounding areas, and just like in Origins you don't get to explore the designated area in its entirety. Instead you get small pockets of areas here and there, and if you want to travel from one pocket to another you have to fast travel. In Dragon Age II, these pockets of area are fairly small markets, back alleys and trade districts around the seemingly large city. In addition to this you get to explore certain caves, undergrounds etc. The problems with the latter is the fact that all of them are almost the same. It doesn't matter if you're in a cave in the Sundermount area, along the Wounded Coast or underneath the city - they all look identical. A few set pieces are used and reused throughout the entire game, and it really makes the game feel much smaller than it already is. By the time you finish the game once you've been through all of these set-pieces half a dozen times or more, and after three playthroughs (which is what I needed) you'll dread them. The game itself is not bad, though. My expectations weren't high after hearing and reading many of the negative reviews of the game, and from a narrative standpoint the game is quite good. It's divided into three acts, and the acts are quite separate - you have a goal in act 1 that leads you to act 2, where you encounter a problem that is dealt with at the end of act 2, leading up to act 3 which ends the game in a way that screams for a sequel. I did enjoy the story overall, and also the companions the game offered. Not as good as the companions of Origins, but they were exceptional in my opinion. You also have fewer options to converse with the companions than in Origins, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, though, I did like the (little) banter along the way, and they felt compelling enough to make do their companion quests to see them develop. The reason why I needed to play through the game three times is because of bad planning. There is one specific trophy requiring one to pick up ALL the different crafting materials in the game, and many of them are easily missed. On my first playthrough I just wanted to experience the game without having to follow guides etc., so I thought that I would get the trophy on my second playthrough as I would have to play through the game twice anyway (there are to factions present in the game and two trophies requiring you to side with both of them). However, I did not read the guide thoroughly enough before I set out to play the game for the second time. You see, in order to get three of the materials found in act 3 you need to be on good terms with three specific companions in order to unlock specific companion quests. I, however, neglected these. By the time I reached act 3 one of the companions had left the game. Therefore, I had to do a third full playthrough of the game. All in all a good game. Despite me mostly complaining about the game here, I did like it. Again, it felt a bit underwhelming compared with its predecessor, but since I was aware of it before I started I was able to adjust my expectations accordingly. I'm glad I played and platted the game! Edited April 23, 2017 by Bartoulum Added trophy image (couldn't add it...) and formatting
Popular Post shihoro-ssi
#25 - inFamous Second Son Enjoy Your Powers Collect all trophies It has been a while since I last updated so this is going to be a long post. The whole setup to this game was so immersive and good at the point of ps4's release. I only got the chance to experience this recently. Story was great, main character was fine and charismatic in a sense and there were different endings to it. My favourite power got to be Neon and that brings me to... (cont'd) "A man, a plan, and an aerosol can." Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 2/10 #26 - inFamous First Light Noble Achievement Collect all Trophies (cont'd) this add-on "DLC" which is definitely worth it's weight. It does not feel like a DLC at all! The story is very fulfilling and tells the tale of another "Conduit". I think both games focus too much on sibling love to the extent that it gets kind of stale. The ending for this was kind of meh compared to Second Son but still enjoyable nonetheless. Some of the challenges were a b!@#$ though. Z-Yux
Platinum #19: Collectomaniac from Yooka-Laylee. Difficulty: 3/10 Enjoyment: 7/10 Although I had some issues with the controls and also the camera (which isn't too out of the ordinary in a 3-D platformer setting), I really enjoyed this game. I hope we can get a sequel.
Popular Post snakebit10
#214 Minecraft: Story Mode Surprise, Surprise. I really ended up liking this and it had a much better story than I was expecting. Leave it to TT to make a good story from Minecraft. I thought the characters were well done and it had some hit you in the feels moments. On to the 3 dlc to get to 100%.
Popular Post peppi_wayne
#23 - Ride (PS4) Another racing game complete, finished it after almost 2 years. I have done the offline part a long time ago but I couldn't do the online races because my internet connection wasn't stable back then. Now I have less problems with the connection so it wasn't difficult to finish this game. It's a solid motorcycle racing game, as usual from Milestone. Popular Post markcavan
#133 - Dead Synchronicity on PS4 (10th plat of 2017) - 88.62% COMMON This is a classic type point and click adventure. While the story is sad and dark in parts I did enjoy the narrative and the game play. Lots of the trophies are missable so a guide should be used it you want to get it complete in one play through. Make sure to listen to the story as its good and don't just skip all the dialogue. Overall 6/10 enjoyment with a 1/10 for difficultly (with a guide)

And it's easily doable in 1 and 0.2 playthroughs if you farm over 1M in your first playthrough and complete compendium to 99% + finish all confidants. I've take few minutes to catch the gold fish, exactly as the golden finger and passionate listener trophies, it seems i'm outta the most annoying one buuuut actually i'm at 130 hrs and i have completed Shido palace. Popular Post Beyondthegrave07
#41 Jak 3 Difficulty: 3/10 Enjoyment: 8/10 Recommend: Yes I played this game a lot on the PS2 when I was younger and loved the game. Going back to Jak II earlier this year was rough, but replaying this has rekindled my love for the series. This game is feels like a fantasy land for Mad Max lovers. Riding in the desert. vehicular combat. The apocalyptic vibes you get as you play the game. All of it is just awesome. The combat is great, the story is great, and the characters are... well, Jak characters. It's strange that I always thought that the most interesting characters was everyone BUT the character ND named the game after! I love how the whole game brings everything back to a full circle even from the first game. I still have issues with the driving mechanics in the game like I did in the second one, but you can definitely tell that this game excels way beyond its predecessors. 2017 Platinum goal is now 10/12 and I also surpassed my personal record of 9 plats in a year. It'd be amazing to end the year with 50 platinums, but I don't think I have 9 more quick and easy games to platinum on my already short list (though my ideas for my 50th platinum right now are Rogue Galaxy, Dark Cloud, Persona 5, or a Kingdom Hearts game... not exactly "quick and easy" besides Dark Cloud, and I'll probably play it before I get to 50). Hopes for some easy PS+ games or great PSN sales!!!
Popular Post Masamune
Legendary Phantom Thief Earn all trophies. What a great game, I was wondering if they would be able to outdo P4, & honestly I think they did. Definitely don't regret getting this one on day 1, actually I wish I would've gotten the special edition (at least I still got a steel case though). But even if you've never tried a Persona game before, I'd definitely recommend trying this one at least once (it's going in my top 10). I wonder if there's going to be an anime for this one, & a "Golden" version too? Difficulty: 4/10 Enjoyment: 10/10 Time Played: 136:24:00 (2 weeks, 5 days, 4 hours) Sadly, no screenshots the entire game...
Popular Post ASmartKid24
#52 NBA 2K16 Kit And Kaboodle I can't believe I got this platinum, it took me like 400-450 hours. "Perfection" is probably the most difficult trophy I've ever achieved, I used the Kings and the last couple of ranks were insanely hard. "Fortune Hunter" also took me like a month, it's probably the most random trophy I've ever seen since the rune system is garbage. The other trophies were nice and fun, even though reaching All Star rep in My Park was a bit meh (at least it wasn't Legend rep).
Popular Post Donkrieg1011
Plat #62: Deponia Picked this up during the last Humble Bundle along with a few more games. The characters and art make up for the game's boring and uninspired story. Some puzzles can be skipped, which is nice compared to the usual Double Fine adventure games. Can't ask for more since it was only $1

Popular Post Pershing24
#26 Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Is That All You Got? Now here is a great Platinum that's worth getting, and my first Call of Duty platinum. While certainly a challenge to get, it wasn't as hard as I initially though. For starters, there are no multiplayer trophies, nor any grinding or many skill trophies, but there are a few collectibles but nothing too bad. The hardest and more grueling part of course, was beating all the spec ops missions on veteran. It can seem impossible to beat, especially with those dam Juggernauts and those gillie snipers in hidden. Watching video guides and memorizing the attack pattern of AI really does help. You just got to keep on trying. This one is going straight to my cabinet, and I would suggest this game to anyone, even if your not a big COD, as I feel this is definitely one of the better titles of the series.
Popular Post locutus442
Platinum #28 and trophy #4000: Persona 5 I thought it was going to be a tough job to be better than Persona 4. Boy, was I blown away with how awesome this game is. Definitely better than Persona 4, by a long shot. And worth the 3 year wait for this to be released (ever since it was first announced).

Popular Post markcavan
#134 - N.E.R.O: Nothing Ever Remains Obscure on PS4 (11th plat of 2017) - 71.42% COMMON Another quick and average enough platinum, costing around €5. Game is a visual novel walking game of sorts, bit like 'Ether One' or 'Everyone's Gone to the Rapture' but not as good IMO as either. The story is sad and its a pretty enough game to look at. Collectibles are easy enough to find even without a guide. The puzzles however are laughable and so easy my youngest would have no trouble solving them (bar one at the end which is so 'obscure' its annoying). Eventually, I found the puzzles boring and just wanted to get passed them so I could progress the story. Also the walking movement speed is WAY too slow, you would think developers would learn to give options to increase this. Oh, and beware of the 'Gnocchi Thursday' trophy which needs to be earned on a THURSDAY (set system clock on PS4). Overall 5/10 enjoyment with a 2/10 for difficultly taking a couple of hours to complete.
