Popular Post jaehyun1009
#90: Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale All-Star Legend - You've Only Done Everything You have successfully earned all other trophies in the game. Congratulations! Difficulty 3/10 Score 6/10 4 years 1 month since I popped the first trophy for this frankly mediocre game. Had this one eating away my memory card space for years but didn't feel like deleting it. Finally had successful boosting session for this game after months of trying on and off. The arcade mode trophies were really boring after the first 2 or 3 characters but my inner completionist said it would be silly to give up just because of that when I've played and completed far grindier games. Recognizing some characters doesn't really bring enough excitement and justification to play this unless you're a fan of the smash bros-esque fighting genre. Popular Post ratchetdude231
Platinum#16: Jak 2 Platinum#17:Jak 3 Since my PS3 is officially out of retirement I decided to go after some plats I never got back in the day mostly because I didn't really care for plats during the PS3 days. So I decided to start with these 2 since they were mostly just an hour or 2 long grinds. In the case of Jak 2 I actually had to play the entire second half of the game just to get the 510 metal head gems. Jak 3 I just started a new game and farmed for precursor orbs thanks to a glitch. My opinion on these games are still the same as they where when I played them for the first time in years in 2012. Loved these games growing up, but outside of Jak 1 the other 2 games in the series haven't aged too well unfortunately. There are some things in Jak 2 that just aren't fun, but rather stupidly annoying. My biggest issue with Jak 2 is the checkpoint system. Frankly I think the complaints of Jak 2 being too hard are kinda overblown. The game isn't hard per say it's just incredibly easy to fuck up. Due to how easy it is to fuck up the checkpoint system is incredibly frustrating. You could be at the very end of a mission, die, and then have to do the entire mission over again which in itself is bullshit. Other major complaint is that there are just parts of the game that aren't fun at all. The mech suit missions were frustrating and I felt they were rather tedious at time fortunately there were only 3 of them so it wasn't too bad, but still I found it rather frustrating. The fact that there is friendly fire in the game is a load of bullshit. If there is a mission were you have someone with you, you could quite possibly kill them or hurt them by accident. Better not activate those dark eco powers near them because that will kill them instantly. It's just a load of bullshit. In regards to Jak 3, I didn't play through the story like I did with Jak 2. I just got the precursor orbs and called it a day, but if I recall correctly Jak 3 did solve the checkpoint complaints from Jak 2. Jak 3 is just an overall better game in my honest opinion, even though Jak 1 is probably my favorite in the entire series. @Undead Wolf @Ratchet2425 @Hertz Also thanks guys for giving me the motivation to do this. Got 2 pretty easy platinums out of it. Ratchet, and Sly 4 are next.

A funny little game with some good moments and nothing too challenging. Most trophies are missable so a guide is needed to get them quickly. Popular Post Stardroid
PROTOTYPE Pretty diverse set of trophies, although I am never a fan of collectible trophies in a big open area. I in fact got really, really lucky as I missed one collectible somewhere and I - I kid you not - jumped across the map a couple of times and glided and accidentally bumped into it. The medal events are pretty fun. I really enjoyed the jumping/gliding ones as they could be tough, but at least they were nice to do. Didn't have much difficulty with them either although the game almost glitched on me. I had read that you should not get all platinum scores at onces or the game might just give you the trophy for all medals platinum and skip the gold medal trophy. I did take this into account and I had one golden medal ready to be made platinum. All of a sudden all the medal events disappeared from the map and I had a heart attack. Luckily, restarting the game was enough to put them back on there. Hard mode was actually really challenging, although it feels a bit cheap. You get hit hard, you run away, you consume some bodies, you get hit hard again and repeat. At least that's how it was for me most of the time. Glad I got this done as I was kinda burned out after the medals and took me a couple of months to actually finish it.
Popular Post Undead Wolf
#149 - Time and Eternity Eternal Timekeeper You obtained every single trophy. Good job! Thanks for playing! I actually finished this game months ago, but I held off getting the platinum because of my 150th plat milestone. The order of games I was going to play ended up changing, so I didn't need to hold of popping this plat anymore. I kinda just forgot about it until now. As for the game itself, it's not as bad as I was led to believe. I mean it's not great, but it's not terrible either. The combat is paper thin and the story gets old pretty quick. It does have a certain level of charm though. I'm a big fan of the art style. I definitely think more games should look like this. It's an enjoyable game, but it definitely belongs somewhere in the B tier of JRPG's.
Popular Post AJ_Radio
Finally decided to post more platinums. #75 - Dead Space (March 19th, 2017) Difficulty: 4/10 Excitement: 8.5/10 Time To Platinum: 18 - 20 Hours Originally I wanted my 75th platinum to be Bloodborne. But after looking through the trophy list and the amount of time required, I decided to pass on it for a bit. For many years I wanted to play the first Dead Space. For one reason or another I never got around to it, until last month. Dead Space is a third person survival horror/shooter where you control Isaac Clarke, an engineer assigned to investigate a mining starship. Along the way he along with Kendra and Hammond encounter beings known as Necromorphs. With time on the line, Isaac must do everything he can to ensure he gets out of the nightmare alive. The game uses the same over the shoulder setup as the Batman Arkham games. Isaac's primary weapon is the plasma cutter, but he can also get other weapons such as the flamethrower and line gun (all with secondary fire). Holographic displays pop up often throughout the game, usually messages from Hammond or Kendra reminding Isaac with the situation on the mining ship. Necromorphs (alien beings reanimated from corpses) show up quite often, often in places I wouldn't expect them to be. What makes the Dead Space series well known, apart from it's horror space theme, is the strategic use of dismembering the Necromorphs. This is very essential as failing to dismember a Necromorph's legs or arms could mean the difference between life and death. This keeps the game fresh and interesting rather than being a typical run and gun third person shooter. Other abilities Isaac has are Stasis and Kinesis. Both can be used strategically against Necromorphs, but they also help in solving the game's various puzzles. A few areas are zero gravity, meaning Isaac has to use his magnetic boots to get from one area or the next. There are also areas with no oxygen. While Isaac has an oxygen tank in his suit, he will die if you don't find air tanks or stations for him. Upgrades greatly help (accessed through the Stores, which you also use to buy new weapons, use schematics and refill ammo) Isaac, making your survival through the mining ship not as difficult. However I struggled greatly during my Impossible playthrough. Many of the Necromorphs, particularly the tougher ones in the later half of the game, often killed me in just three or four hits. I eventually caved in and bought the Tank suit, which is the strongest suit in the game with at least twice the amount of armor as the second best suit. Thanks to a money glitch and having general knowledge of Dead Space, I was able to beat the game again without much trouble. Definitely pick up Dead Space if you haven't. It's probably one of the best survival horror shooters of last generation. #76 - Day of the Tentacle Remastered (March 22nd, 2017) Difficulty: 2/10 Excitement: 9/10 Time To Platinum: 4 - 5 Hours Spoiler Day of the Tentacle is a 1993 point-n-click adventure game by LucasArts that has been remastered for modern systems. Since I got it for free off of Playstation Plus, I was pretty satisfied. The game follows the events of LucasArts previous game Maniac Mansion (which I'll get to in a minute). A Purple Tentacle drinks toxic sludge in a river behind Dr. Fred Edison's laboratory. The tentacle becomes more intelligent and goes on a quest for world domination. Green Tentacle, who is Purple's friendly, harmless brother, asks the nerd Bernard for help. Traveling to the Edison family hotel, he along with Laverne and Hoagie get tangled and scrambled on a fun, if not hilarious quest to stop Purple Tentacle's mad quest to control the world. Generally, I often prefer point-n-click games to be on a PC, since controlling the pointer is much easier with the mouse. Double Fine Productions (the company who made the remaster) however did a fine job in porting Day of the Tentacle over to the Playstation 4 and Vita. The remaster gives players the opportunity to play on a more modern setup (using a more convenient clicking style suited to newer gamers) , since you can switch between the old school layout (it uses the point-n-click interface that takes up the bottom of the screen) from 1993, or use the modern layout for younger/newer gamers. For nostalgic purposes, I played the entire game in the original format. The score is slightly different for the modern layout, while the old layout retains the classic original score many players loved listening to when they were growing up. It was a wonderful addition to be able to switch, and that by itself made the experience much more enjoyable. Playing as the three protagonists, there is time travel in Day of the Tentacle. As you progress in the game you have to switch between Bernard (present), Hoagie (past), and Laverne (future) often in order to solve the game's various puzzles. The main reason for doing this is to exchange items between the three using the "Chron-o-Johns", modified toilets that transport items and objects to a different time period. That's not the only reason however, actions you do in the past or present will often affect the future. An item that Bernard or Hoagie give to one another to solve a particular puzzle can have an impact in Laverne's world. This was something that I really enjoyed while playing the game. Various actions I did in the past affected the future. This kept the game feeling fresh and separated it from being another point-n-click game that all took place in one era. One of the biggest treats of Day of the Tentacle in my opinion, is the fact that Maniac Mansion is entirely playable if you can access it using a certain computer. Likely the original point-n-click game, Maniac Mansion was a hit that LucasArts would later use it's formula to make The Secret of Monkey Island and Indiana Jones. Maniac Mansion is required as there is a trophy you need within that game. As I can imagine with older gamers, this was a giant wave of nostalgia. Double Fine Productions did a fantastic job with Day of the Tentacle and I can only hope they will remaster more from the LucasArts library, even with Full Throttle being recently released. My recommendation? Go out and buy it. The only gripe I have with this game is the long loading times. If you can get past that then you're in for a treat. Definitely a game worth having in your trophy collection. Edited April 27, 2017 by Spaz

Popular Post AJ_Radio
#77 - Far Cry Primal (March 28th, 2017) Difficulty: 3/10 Excitement: 8.5/10 Time To Platinum: 25 Hours Far Cry Primal is an open world first person shooter adventure game set in prehistoric times, in the Oros valley. You play as Takkar, a Wenja hunter who is tasked with bringing other Wenja scattered throughout Oros. After he witnesses his hunting party killed by a sabretooth, he aids a young woman named Sayla. Sayla informs Takkar that he must find other Wenja and bring them to their location so they can start a new beginning and future. This is where the game truly begins. The game plays as one would expect from a first person shooter. You can aim, take cover, get headshots, complete mission objectives and so on. What sets the series apart from others is it's open world environment and options to upgrade stats and abilities. Many first person shooters I've played were very linear, generally only offering a few upgrades for the player and putting their main focus in online multiplayer. Past Far Cry games have had some sort of element of multiplayer, but Primal is the first (and possibly the easiest) game since Far Cry Classic (as far as I'm aware of) to be entirely single player. I decided to take this opportunity to experience a Far Cry game from beginning to end for the very first time. At the start, Takkar will only have a bow and a club. But further on you can learn to craft new weapons using the crafting system. There is no option to buy anything, so Takkar has to gather materials found throughout the vast Oros landscape to get the required ingredients in order to craft and upgrade. Weapons can be upgraded to become more powerful, and these upgrades will require finding materials found in more difficult areas of the game. Hunting animals is a huge essential part of the game, as they are vital to provide meat for food, heal yourself, and use the skins to get the vital upgrades. As the game progresses you need to develop your village. A large part of the story is helping the Wenja in the farther reaches of the game so you can recruit them to join your village. Village upgrades are required for the early to mid part of the game. Recruiting Wenja gives you access to new skills and upgrades that were previously locked out. In addition to crafting weapons and increasing the population for your village you (most importantly) can upgrade Takkar. He can then run faster, heal more health, craft more arrows at a time, and more. Far Cry Primal is everything an open world game implies. There are various side quests and main story quests to gain levels and XP, resources located in specific areas, animals and beasts ranging from easy to difficult, fast travel locations to unlock (outposts and bonfires) and caves to explore. An interesting option in Primal is the ability to tame predators using bait. In the beginning you can only tame standard wolves and other animals (after you tame an owl), but as you upgrade your character (which requires more skill points for the higher tiered upgrades) you can eventually tame sabertooth tigers and cave bears. These are powerful beasts who fight by your side and aid you in killing your enemies. There are two tribes Takkar is faced with throughout the game (Udam and Izila). Without spoiling the story, my biggest gripe with Far Cry Primal is I felt there weren't enough main story quests to fully immerse me into the experience. In the 25 hours it took to get me the platinum, I felt a good 15 - 16 hours or so was running around doing all the side quests and activities necessary to full upgrade my character Takkar. Nothing in Far Cry Primal felt difficult, in fact the only difficult portion of the game for me was taking down the legendary beasts. The Udam and Izila, once you learn their strategy, are easy to take down. Only in a couple particular hard outposts did I die a few times from both of these tribes. I would definitely recommend Far Cry Primal, especially if you're new to the franchise. It's an easy game, and if you're any good with first person games and open world games, you should have no trouble with this one. #78 - God of War Ascension (April 1st, 2017) Difficulty: 3/10 Excitement: 8/10 Time To Platinum: 10 - 12 Hours As a prequel to the classic God of War, Ascension focuses on the protagonist and antihero Kratos, months after he killed his wife and child. After realizing he had been tricked by Ares, the God of War, Kratos vows he will never again follow his orders. For breaking his oath to the god, he is punished by the three Furies, female guardians who punish anyone willing to go against orders. After cutting himself free with the help of the oath keeper Orkos, Kratos goes on a quest to confront the Furies and completely break the bond to Ares. Ascension is a third person game that focuses on combo based combat, puzzles and platforming. The game plays in a fixed camera perspective, with the right stick used to dodge rather than change the camera angle. The enemies Kratos fights are taken from Greek mythology, which has been the central theme to all God of War games prior to the 2017 release. Kratos primary weapon is the Blades of Chaos, blades linked to Kratos that he uses to kill his foes. New weapons called World Weapons make their appearance here, but unfortunately they are not nearly as useful as previous weapons in previous God of War titles. Kratos has access to four magic disciplines (Ares, Poseidon, Zeus and Hades) that enhance his Blades of Chaos (fire, ice, lightning and souls respectively), making them slightly more powerful. Each discipline comes with it's own trait. Further in the game Kratos will have access to three relics. These relics are required to progress, and I felt they were a nice addition to what may of otherwise been standard generic fare. The Amulet of Uroborus can manipulate time by reconstructing or decaying a certain object, usually a pathway. The Oath Stone of Orkos creates a secondary copy of Kratos, which is necessary for keeping a button pressed down, or to distract enemies in the later part of the game. Finally, the Eyes of Truth can remove illusions of the Furies (one of the Furies primary ability is to create illusions) and cast a blinding light on enemies. All of these create a good strategy to kill Kratos enemies and move along in the story. As a big God of War fan, I will admit that Ascension is not without it's faults. Some may argue it's the most flawed game in the series. In previous games, you could deflect an attack and in return make a powerful counterattack. While you can still deflect/parry attacks, in order to counterattack you must press an additional button. Parrying was almost entirely useless and I ended up just rolling my way to victory. I felt it was a lame decision to lock a good number of moves behind the rage meter. Many of Kratos decent moves require the rage meter to be filled. Enemies attacking him have a chance to lower that meter if they score a hit. This made my experience most frustrating than satisfying, as I was used to pulling off big combos, then activating L3 + R3 to enable Rage of the Gods, which made all of your moves more powerful. My biggest gripe is God of Ascension couldn't live up to God of War III. III had such incredibly good graphics and badass boss battles on such a large scale that it was amazing that anybody could program that on the Playstation 3 console. Ascension came out three years later, and when it did there was virtually no innovation. It was more of the same fare, and while a couple boss battles were big (in scale) and exciting, the game comes up short especially when compared to the previously released game. I felt the Furies were copied over from the Sisters of Fate in God of War II, especially the first two sisters you meet since they seem to share a lot of similarities. Ascension was still a good game and most certainly not bad on it's own, but I can understand it being a disappointment for many players. Lastly, the tacked on multiplayer. You are required to try it out for one trophy, and it requires an online pass. If you bought the game used, you're likely going to have to buy to get the pass. Completely BS and unnecessary, which is why I'm happy the new God of War won't have it. I would definitely try out Ascension if you're already a fan of the series. Otherwise I would recommend playing the older titles and make a decision whether or not to play Ascension. My rating is 8 because I enjoyed the game from beginning to end. However it's faults and short comings prevent it from being a classic. Edited April 27, 2017 by Spaz

Popular Post Tankor_smash
#232 Class of Heroes 2g I picked this up during a sale last year and didn't really know anything about it. The game itself isn't very hard, but the last trophy for killing 50,000 monsters is a real chore. I had about 17,000ish done when I finished the story, and unfortunately the encounter rate is very low and inconsistent. You can go entire floors and feel like you aren't meeting any monsters. There is a dungeon that has plenty of predetermined encounters, but even there the best you can really do is 700-800 an hour.
Popular Post ratchetdude231
Platinum# 18: Ratchet and Clank Up Your Arsenal Difficulty: 3/10 Fun: 10/10 Jeez where the hell do I even begin with this game. First of all let me say this is the best Ratchet and Clank game in the series, and my favorite game of all time. This game just does so many things perfectly. Lets start with the gameplay. The gameplay is pretty similar to Ratchet and Clank Going Commando with the major difference being that all the RPG elements that were introduced into the series with Going Commando have been dialed to 11 in this game. The weapon upgrade system is incredibly addictive, and unlike in Going Commando a weapon can be leveled up to 5 times. This just makes using different weapons that much more fun and addictive. Of the 1000 times I've played through this game I don't think I've ever played the game without wanting to level up all my weapons by the end. It's just incredibly addicting. Second of all this game has an incredible amount of side content. While yes there is only 1 arena in this game compared to the 2 in Going Commando I think the Arena in this one is much better. There are weapon specific challenges, platforming challenges and the classic arena style, and boss challenges. The other thing I absolutely adore in this game is that there are ranger missions some of which are required while others aren't, but what I love about them so much, is that there are missions where you can pretty much do the mission your way. You are given an objective and you have a sizeable area to go around in that is flooded with enemies. It's a blast and the open ended missions that we saw in a Crack in Time where very much an evolution of these missions. They did an amazing job with this game, and it's just a blast to playthrough. In regards to the story, well the story in the original trilogy is weird. It's definitely not as good as what we saw in the future trilogy, but I really liked how funny the story was. Of course the best Ratchet and Clank villain Dr.Nefarious is introduced in this game and he is awesome. This game just has so many funny moments, and I adore some of the tracks in this game. They just nailed everything in this game, and I'm really glad I finally plated it. It's a real shame I wasn't into platinums back in the PS3 days because I probably would have plated the hell out of all these games back then. At least I did it now lol.
