Popular Post Arceus130
#120: Hotline Miami This was game was both frustrating and satisfying. While the story isn't particularly deep, Hotline is more about the the good music and solid gameplay. It's all about learning from your mistakes while figuring out the gameplay mechanics through trial and error. I was close to rage quitting quite a few times, but it always felt through to finally make it through a particularly tough level (shoutout that damn final boss). While it wasn't my cup of tea (my tastes have been leaning more towards slower-paced RPGs recently), it was definitely a solid game. Difficulty: 7/10 (Don Juan mask is OP for getting A+'s, or else this would be higher) Enjoyment: 7/10
Popular Post AJ_Radio
A few days late posting this, since I've been busy with work and college. Platinum #89: Heavy Fire: Shattered Spear Difficulty: 3/10 Excitement: 4/10 Estimated Time to Platinum: 5 Hours Heavy Fire: Shattered Spear is the second game in the series with trophy support, made by Teyon. It is an on rails arcade shooter where you are an American soldier tasked with attempting to stop an ICBM from destroying a part of the world. The game very much plays out like Heavy Fire: Afghanistan. It automatically takes you from location to location, and each area has a set number of enemies you have to shoot. Ammo crates, health pickups and grenade boxes can be picked up by shooting at them. Enemies have better accuracy and hit you for more damage consistency than they did in Afghanistan. This requires a little bit of muscle memory as you are likely to die a few times throughout your journey. There are a few vehicle missions which have you in a helicopter and a tank. These can be quite enjoyable, and are overall easier to handle since you can soak up more damage than you would on foot. Upgrades are just like the previous game, every few missions you are given an upgrade to increase your ammo clips, quicker reloads, access more powerful rifles, and receive a health upgrade. These upgrades make the game easier as you don't have to worry about dying quite so much. Veteran difficulty, however, is very cheap and frustrating. This game basically throws enemies that can easily dish out lots of damage even when your character has all the upgrades. The difficulty alone would probably account for my personal rating to go from a 3 out of 10 to a 5 or possibly a 6 out of 10. There is an exploit you can use that involves multiple controllers. With two controllers you can set up a guest account who can aid you in getting past the more difficult sections of the missions. You do not need another player in the same room with you. You just need to have another controller at your disposal so you can 'technically' have another person in game, and this person can soak up damage even though he hasn't done anything. While the story in Shattered Spear is primarily on just one soldier, you can have as many as four controllers accounting for four players in various missions. This makes 'difficult' sections in the game extremely easy, to the point where you literally don't have to try at all because all four players will soak up damage. Voice acting is as bad as before. The protagonist has one tone of voice and quite simply I don't think the developers cared at all how bad the acting is in this game. The story is easily forgettable and nothing to really mention as it's basically glorifying the American Army in one way or another. Shattered Spear may as well had no story because it is bad. I could probably whip out a better story within a few days time. The graphics are medicore. While they would of been merely okay in the early years of the Playstation 3 generation (2006 - 2007) they are quite simply poor for 2013 standards. Shattered Spear was released in 2013, and it is technically a retail game. I can imagine that these retail copies are priced very low, because this and Afghanistan don't offer much of any replayability beyond the initial playthrough on Rookie and Veteran difficulty. Shattered Spear is more or less a trophy whore game. The trophies are very easy and simple to get. The only trouble anyone may have with this game, apart from the cheap Veteran difficulty, is the radios. You have to destroy all radios in one sitting. If you destroy them all in Rookie difficulty, then quit on to XMB and then play later on Veteran, the trophies won't unlock. This is due to a glitch that the developers didn't bother to fix, and will probably never fix seeing as this game was overall pretty mediocre. Like Afghanistan, Shattered Spear is a poor man's Battlefield and Call of Duty. Would I recommend this title? Only if you're willing to spend a few hours getting through the game for it's platinum. Otherwise I wouldn't bother. There are much better games on the Playstation Store and on Amazon that are the same price and cheaper than Shattered Spear. 42 minutes ago, Arceus130 said: #120: Hotline Miami This was game was both frustrating and satisfying. Much more difficult than A+ing the levels in the original. You also have to beat Hard mode, which are the same levels reversed at 180 degrees. The fat guys from the original are in this game too, and there are katana/melee enemies that can only be killed by using melee weapons. Very difficult especially in the later levels. There are 24 levels in total. Edited May 30, 2017 by Spaz
Popular Post ShayShay1993
#165 - The Evil Within Whew. What an adventure that was! The story, while a little confusing at first, was actually quite cool. The atmosphere of the game was interesting as well; very tense in some sections, especially on Akumu difficulty. That said, Akumu wasn't nearly as bad as I expected it to be. I guess it's one of those things where your anxieties build it up to be a lot worse in your mind so you somewhat psych yourself out. I managed to complete Akumu mode in 14:56:48 with 170 deaths. I personally thought I died way more times than that, it sure felt like it in some parts! Overall, I really enjoyed the game. Popular Post snakebit10
#216 The Walking Dead A New Frontier Another good episode of TWD. I like the additions of the new characters in to the game. The story played out fine but really didn't have the suspenseful ending like the first couple episodes had. That is all I will say. I don't like saying to much about these types of games for fear of spoiling it for someone.
Popular Post gary_danial
#410 The Walking Dead A New Frontier Enjoyment: 9.5/10 Difficulty: 1/10 (The only hard part is waiting for the episode to be released, trust me, waiting is painful. lol) Quite enjoyed the series, although season 1 is still the best story-wise. I'm pretty satisfied with most of my choices and the ending I got, just a bit gutted that some of the characters are meant to die and some parts of the story are still to be unfold. I guess we wait then for the next season and better story hopefully?
Popular Post Arceus130
#121: The Sexy Brutale Well this was a fast one lol. There are a lot of people online saying that this is basically a murder-mystery Groundhog Day, which is not a bad way to summarize this game. It's definitely a bit pricey considering the short length, but the story, characters, dialogue, and general atmosphere are all fascinating. If you're a fan of solving puzzles (which I am), you will definitely enjoy the gameplay. The one thing to keep in mind, if you're trying to 100% this, is that there are 52 card collectibles which comprise a full deck. While the game will tell you how many cards you've picked up, it won't tell you which ones you have yet, so be sure to keep track! That aside, nothing is truly missable (after all, it *is* a more murder-y Groundhog Day). Difficulty: 3/10 Enjoyment: 9/10

I had to stay away from spoilers since December because I like to play them all together. The story lacked that emotional feel though, nothing really had me choked up like in the first season, but overall this was still good. Looking forward to see what Telltale does next with this.
Popular Post Caldor2K2
- #97 - Sly 2: Band of Thieves (Vita) I've had this one sitting around for a few years and just now decided to finish it, although I did platinum Sly 1 not long after getting it. The game itself is a fun stealthy type platform type, although a bit frustrating at times with the camera and control mechanics. Its way better in every aspect compared to the first game, which was good too. On the plus side, if you don't want to 100% the game, as in finding all the annoying clue bottles in each level, you don't have to. If you've never played the Sly Cooper series I'd recommend it as all the games were pretty solid.
Popular Post Terra
#76 - The Nonary Games (PS4) Difficulty: 3/10 Enjoyment: 10/10 What can I say about the Nonary Games that I haven't said about before? I won't talk about Virtue's Last Reward since I've already played it and it's pretty much a direct port of the Vita version with no changes made. I'll talk about 999 instead. I personally think it's stronger than VLR despite the story being a bit more easier to understand and not as complex but it is probably due to the game having only six possible endings. The cast was great but I wish some got more development such as Seven who I don't think had his true name revealed, and Lotus who I thought was really underused in contrast to Junpei and June. The puzzles were a bit disappointingly simple but the story made up for it in the end, especially the true ending even though it ends on a cliffhanger that was I guess continued in VLR but I had a hard time finding the connection at first. I think this experience is better had on the Vita but if you don't have one, get the PS4 version, it's well worth the price. My only upset is that Zero Time Dilemma was not included but now that it has a separate release for the PS4, it sort of makes up for it but not by much.

Popular Post WorldOfSheeps
#20 - Tales from the Borderlands - We Had Fun, Didn't We? I only have played one Telltale game before (Game of Thrones) and I loved every bit of it. That is why I had high expectations for Tales of the Borderlands. After playing it, I had some mixed feelings. The soundtrack of the game is amazing as well as the ending. But it starts really slow and took a while till I wanted to play it through. Besides that I do not think all characters are as strong as they could be. Nonetheless, the soundtrack and especially the ending made it worth to play through the end. Difficulty: 0/10 Enjoyment: 7/10 #21 - Lumo - Ultimate Played The Game Wanted to play something else than the last games I played, which were (very) easy to Plat (Beach Buggy Racing, Lara Croft Go and Tales of the Borderlands). I was a bit scared, because the rarity made Lumo look like a very long and difficult game. And yes, completing the game on Old School mode was hard, but nearly as hard as I thought it would be (I thought it was a play through with only 1 life). When you start playing it can be frustrating, like it took me a while till I figured out you can hold X while jumping on a duck, what makes you do an instant jump. Also the fixed camera is a bit frustrating in the beginning, but you learn to read the rooms after getting through them over and over. All in all, Lumo is a fun game and I can recommend it to everyone that wants a low percentage Platinum. Popular Post Haihattelija
Platinum # 14 - Furi A fast-paced hack and slash game with only fearsome multiphased boss foes to defeat combined with bullet hell sequences and optional time based challenges? Surely a bit odd combination of genres but somehow it works in this game. Perhaps it's because Furi respects you as a player and don't hold your hand trough the experience. Combat is tough but learning all the tricks is satisfying experience and making previously seemingly unbeatable boss to crumble before your newly refined skills is a joy to see. Story is compelling enough to follow and not just an excuse for gameplay to exist. You play as a "Stranger" who is tortured and kept in a prison just build for him. Surely anyone would like escape from such conditions. Although you begin to wonder later on if it would be better to stay imprisoned for sake of others... Only minor complaint I have about this game is transitions between bossfights. Couple of minutes you are walking trough pretty scenary and exposed more to the story. These sequences serve as a break between bossfights to let player calm down from previous battle. They are fine for the first time but due to their unskippable nature they become tiresome for later playtroughs. And multiple playtroughs are required if anyone intends to get platinum or do other challenges. PS. Soundtrack is excellent in this game, it was the original reason I got interested in Furi. sup3rk0alol17x
My first time using PSNprofile on mobile, and its a nightmare, took me 10 minute just to write this, as ive deleted my previous post two times, well well well. But hey, back with a platinum(FINALLY) after 1 year since #43. #44 DEAD NATION(ps3) I dont have a lot to say about it, its a fun game the first 3 difficulty, as youre the one kicking the zombies ass, but in morbid its the other way around.. That last part on morbid is hella hard, but the platinum would be even harder if beating undead was a trophy, wich i dont wanna imagine.. But in the end, its a new platinum, and i sure hope next one wont be in may 2018? Fun: 7 Difficulty: 7
