Popular Post madbuk
#213 - Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Birth by Sleep Master I am so ready for Kingdom Hearts 3. So many pieces have been put into play and I'm excited to see how it all plays out. For an entry that isn't numbered, Birth by Sleep is absolutely essential to the overall plot (so is Dream Drop Distance... you could probably skip 358/2 and Coded though) so it's odd that they would decide to release it on a handheld device instead of taking full advantage of the PS3. This game probably has my favourite KH story, I won't spoil it but these poor characters just can't catch a break The gameplay, on the other hand... something felt off in BBS. I'm not sure what it was, but the combat just didn't feel as fluid and interesting as any of the other games. It does get a lot better when playing as Ventus and Aqua, but playing as Terra just doesn't feel good at all, and even Ven/Aqua aren't as fun to play as as Sora or Riku. Having to refill the reports as each character is also really dumb. I get why it's like that, because why would the characters share a report? But Sora and Riku shared a report in DDD just fine even though that doesn't really make much sense either. DDD was so much better because you only had to do the unique content as each character and everything else with only one. Regathering all the commands in BBS just isn't fun. I might end up stacking these games if I really can't wait for KH3, because they're great. I'll wait for a price drop first though, £40 is a bit much for me (even though I'd get another 300+ hours out of it)

Popular Post Pershing24
Finally, after 2 months since my last one. #31 Far Cry 4 Master Of Kyrat Originally I was working towards getting the platinum for Rise of the Tomb Raider and Call of Duty Advanced Warfare in July, but certain trophies like Golden Child and Wheelman that I just wasn't in the mood to do them. And because Rocket League needed more grinding, and I've lost my save file for Assassin Creed Unity, I was like, screw it, lets just get Far Cry 4 done once and for all. Anyways as for Far Cry 4 this was an early PS4 game that I got not long after buying it, and apparently I did played it that winter of 2014, but I lost interest and didn't touch it for years until I need an easy platinum this summer. Then I remember that CarlosHAS mention this game in his top ten easiest PS4 platinum video, so I was determine to finish it. I got to say this was a relatively easy open word game to platinum, especially by Ubisoft standard, as you don't need to 100% complete the game, don't need all the collectibles or finish all side missions. Though you do need to finish the campaign (its surprisingly long), get all skills and fly 5000 meters with the wing suit. Don't worry about the Map Brower or the Multiplayer, as there are only one trophies for these, in fact the only thing you need collaboration is the two co-op trophies with players. If you like Far Cry 3, then you'll like Far Cry 4 as the game play is almost identical, there's just has more to do and a different stories. Though I do like all the nods and references to previous Far cry games. I'm just glad I got it done in time for Far Cry 5 coming in February, though I will eventually be going back to Rook Island. But for now, I've got to finish Horizon Zero Dawn and Injustice 2. Edited August 6, 2017 by Pershing24

scarishbal
#129 Adam's Venture This game. I got it through GameFly but it arrived the other day. So I start the game and it wasn't that bad. But once I heard Adam Venture's stupid saying, I knew things were going down hill. I hated the voice of Adam, but I was never able to find the guys name. As time went on, I arrived at the first mythical location. But once I figured out why Adam and Evelyn were chosen as the main character's names - I just started to boo the game out loud. But things got worse as the game went on. Two things that were good about the game was that there was no gun play and the spats on the uniforms of the soldiers in Jerusalem. But I finished the game in three hours and was able to put in the mail the same day.

Popular Post Beyondthegrave07
#52 Life is Strange Difficulty: 1/10 Fun: 9.5/10 RECOMMEND? YES!! Now, time to put some spoilers on this... READ AT YOUR OWN RISK! I WARNED YOU!!!! SUPER MAJOR MAJOR SPOILERS! Just like and move on if you haven't played this yet... Nothing to see here... Spoiler I ended up choosing to save Chloe in the end because I was unsure of how things would play out in this new reality without Chloe. I would assume that there would be 2 main differences in this reality. 1. Chloe dies and 2. Max no longer has the ability to alter time since her will to save Chloe is what manifested the power in the first place. This leaves me in a very uneasy place. For one, (and maybe someone can answer this who actually sacrificed her) would Max still have all her memories from previous timelines? Does she know that Kate will try to commit suicide and that Mr. Jefferson is a psychopath? Also, would Max technically be able to use this knowledge to prematurely save Kate and get Mr. Jefferson arrested? I mean, her rewinding time and using her knowledge of previous timelines and messing with reality is what caused the storm in the first place, right? Therefore, is using this knowledge from previous timelines going to recreate a new storm anyways? Could she warn everyone beforehand and save everyone or would that just create another storm elsewhere? I mean, the storm was originally created by her "first" using her powers, but isn't she still technically benefiting from them if she is using it in the new reality if she does all these things? What exactly is the difference between letting Chloe die, not receiving the powers, and keeping the memories (if she does) and using this knowledge to her advantage? Seems like the same thing to me, except for the fact of no do-overs, but she won;t need them because she already knows what happened for the most part? Let's just say she DOESN'T remember anything from the previous timeline and skip the giant fucking headache from above. If this is the case, Kate will indeed die (since Max's power is what saves her) and Mr. Jefferson will do creepy Mr. Jefferson things to students. Therefore, Victoria and Nathan would also die and Max would end up back in the Dark Room, but without the ability to go back in time, Sooo, wouldn't Max probably die too?!?!? Mr. Jefferson is free to roam and do creepy things while all the students die anyways. Sounds like a pretty shitty dump to live. Who would want to live in this sort of world? Was Max aware that she could lose her memories by doing this? AHHH! TOO MANY QUESTIONS, NOT ENOUGH ANSWERS. Fuck Arcadia Bay, I'm saving Chloe. The end

Popular Post FluffyAssassin64
#72 - Nioh "You Are Nioh" Obtained all trophies. Honestly? I don't even know where to start when talking about this game. It was incredible in so many ways, but it also had a few shortcomings that kept it from greatness in my books. I think the best way for me to break down my thoughts is to split into what I loved (or at least really liked) and didn't like. The good stuff: Japanese setting, atmosphere and 'feel': I'm not generally the biggest fan of 'all things Japanese'; I've never been that into Anime, for example (I find it cheesy). However, I found that Nioh represented the Japanese culture in a way that intrigued, delighted and excited me. One key example of this is the 'spirit cutscenes' in the game. They're not very fancy or very long, but went a long way to developing the sense of culture. The music, characters, 'weirdness', etc. also contributed to the feel in a big way. Oh, and the voices themselves were AMAZING; loved it The combat system, weapons, feel of combat: I'll discuss my negatives with this stuff a bit later, but for now I'll say that the combat was extremely enjoyable and satisfying, even 100 hours in. There is a good variety of weapons, and the skills keep them feeling fresh as you get stronger and stronger. The mix of magic, ninja skills and 'normal' combat skills went a long way to making every fight an enjoyable one. Hit detection was generally good, and I rarely died because of something that felt like it was 'the game's fault'. Most of all, it was just fun! The Stamina (Ki) system, while not entirely 'new', was well-implemented with some clever skills in there too. There were also Spirits, items, etc. which added even more depth The level design for (most of) the main missions: Nioh had some extremely clever and well-designed levels, with some short-cuts that weren't even just doors, ladders, and lifts! (looking at you, Souls Series :P). The sense of scale was certainly there, with great backing music, atmospheric sounds, sense of verticality, secrets adding even more for me. A level based on the docks near the start, and the final 'Japanese' level were highlights for me personally. Bosses were often appropriate too Characters and story-telling: Personally, I loved it. The characters all felt real and conflicted, and I enjoyed the character and story beats; even if they were sometimes quite quick and lacked some exposition. Learning (later) how significant some of the events were in 'real life' Japanese history only made this even cooler in my books Gear and upgrade system: Nioh did an excellent job of combining the combat of Souls-style games with an addictive loot system more reminiscent of Diablo or Borderlands. This is one of the few aspects where I felt that Nioh is 'better' than the Souls games. Hey, maybe I'm just addicted to collecting random stuff The challenge: With my build, at least, I never felt over-powered. I think Nioh is generally a bit easier than Souls (outside of maybe the first few zones if you've got no experience with this style of games), but there were a few mid-to-late-game bosses that gave me a challenge, for sure! A little bit uneven in terms of difficulty, but I've seen much worse, haha The not-so-good: Repetition of levels and areas: Many of the side-missions were absolutely enjoyable, but I started to tire of how many times I had to run through the exact same (or very similar) locations. They did a decent job of changing them up (different weather, starting at a different point, etc.), but there are only so many times you can open the exact same shortcut before you start to feel the repetition setting in... Lack of enemy variety: Not so much of an issue early on, but by the middle of the game, I started to realise just how few enemy types there were in this game. You can only fight so many of the exact same Yokai with an axe before it starts to get repetitive. Don't get me wrong; the combat remained fun! I was just disappointed in the lack of variety; especially when comparing to a game like Dark Souls 3 where every single new area has a new enemy type (okay, apart from the Asylum Demon rip-offs :P) Some uninspired level design in the mid-game: Compared to some of the early missions (a certain terracotta-warrior-themed level springs to mind), some of the mid-game missions were extremely boring; contained some ugly-looking fog, and some boring environments. Most of the main missions had cool style and ideas, so this is a mild complaint; but I definitely felt it (especially compared to the grandeur of every single new area in Souls, for example) Lack of any context for many / all of the bosses: This is a relatively minor one, but most times when I got to a boss, there had been absolutely no build-up at all as to who (or what) I would be fighting. It just felt like, "oh look, I guess I'm fighting a vampire lady now", "I guess there are giant toads now?", or "oh cool, there's the 12th Onryoki I've had to kill". Contrast this to a character like Pontiff Sulyvahn from DSIII; where the lore had been building up to a fight with the terrifying ruler of the Boreal Valley for several levels (if you know to read the lore in the item descriptions, of course!). Some like Umi-Bozu or Shima Sakon were excellent; just felt a bit uneven. Missing the sense of 'epicness' that I get from Souls: hard to objectively describe, but it didn't quite reach that feeling you get from a Souls game. The combat itself was certainly up to par; I think the atmosphere itself (maybe precipitated partly by continually returning to the map) felt a bit disjointed, though. Some levels had incredible atmosphere, while others felt messy and all over the place. That said, the levels that worked, worked very well! I think that about does it, haha. It might not look like it by the relative size of the 'good' and 'bad' sections, but I absolutely loved my time with Nioh. It was a little bit uneven, sure, but this is the first game of this type by Team Ninja, and I'm certain that the next one (if there is one!) will build upon these foundations to produce something special. Think of how Dark Souls was a huge improvement over Demon's Souls, or how amazing Bloodborne was! I'd recommend this game to anyone who is even remotely a fan of this style of game, and am very-much looking forward to the next one. I guess I'll just have to deal with Witcher-Geralt instead of totally-not-just-Irish-Geralt while I wait The platinum itself was relatively straight forward; do everything, collect everything, and upgrade what you can! If you experiment with all the weapon types, magic, ninja skills, etc. you'll be fine for a majority of the game. A few double-boss end-game side missions are tough, but by this point you should have a good handle on how the game plays. With a bit of perseverance, you'll be fine. Like Souls, it's relatively easy to 'farm' for Amrita and/or gold as required too, so there's nothing really missable. Just do the Twilight missions as they appear, or you could be waiting a week for the last one to show up! Enjoyment rating: 8.5/10 Plat difficulty: 3.5/10 Edited August 6, 2017 by FluffyAssassin64

Adam's Venture Origins was just crap. Terrible consistency, some sections were too short, others dragged on for too long. Pretty much all the characters were forgettable. Adam felt nothing could stop him, well he was certainly stopped by the puzzles, a couple of which were absolutely ridiculous that I had to look up a guide to get past them. At least there's only one trophy list, that way hardcore trophy hunters don't have to go out and rent this game a second time just so they can stack it, because it's garbage. Popular Post xMissFantasy
147 ~ Lord of Ironrath 148 ~ Dragon Age™: Inquisition Platinum Trophy 149 ~ Platinum Game of Thrones: I went into it not knowing a damn thing about GoT (though I know it has nothing to do with the show), came out with some knowledge and now I really want to watch it. I love Telltale games and this one is the only one that has the toughest choices. It was a bit heartbreaking to watch. Looking forward to season 2 though! Dragon Age Inquisition: It's my first DA game I've finished. I started Origins back on 360 but I didn't get very far. I believe I quit because the mechanics of the game was super confusing to me at the time but now, once my backlog dwindles a bit more, I'm going to play AND finish DA 2 and Origins. This one was actually super fun. Nightmare was a nightmare until I got my specialization class and crafted better equipment. After that, total breeze. Wish I did it all in one play through though. Nightmares from the Deep 2: I like these kinds of puzzle/i spy games. This was actually a cool sequel to the first one. Found it just as easy but the collectibles were a bit hard to find. Not much though. I can see the developer making a third with how it ends then probably leaving it at that. I have also 100% two games as well: Q.U.B.E and AC Freedom Cry. Not quite sure what I want my 150th platinum to be but I'm thinking Crash Bandicoot Warped.

I didn't expect to enjoy this as much as I did. This never was my favorite Crash game as kid, but now that I've played all of these 3 remastered versions I gotta say this was my favorite. Quite challenging Platinum but all it need is some practice. Time trials were definitely the hardest part of this game. The level that gave me most trouble was probably Native Fortress, don't know why but I struggled so much with that one. The High Road was actually way easier than I expected. Maybe I was just so used to the controls at that point so it didn't gave me much trouble. I still need to get the gold relic from Stormy Ascent, but after that I guess I'm gonna finish Crash 2 & 3. I don't really wanna do that but I guess I have to. I didn't really enjoy playing those games month or so ago. Popular Post Rick_Sanchez
Platinum # 206 Fun: 7/10 Difficulty: Telltale/10 It's difficult to talk in detail about the game without spoiling it but I'll try. You switch between playing series regular Clementine and new comer Javier who is trying to protect what is left of his family. The game often times is more select your dialogue option and react when needed even more so than the previous games. The Telltale difficulty rating is lower than a 0, seriously just complete all 5 parts and you got the plat. Anyone can do this game. That doesn't mean it's bad, the characters are enjoyable and I rather like the new cast as well. This is a step up from TWD season 2.

Also, this took me a little longer because I was moving. Oh well, I'm pretty much settled now. I'm going to knock out Crash 3. Hopefully, the time trials won't give me too much trouble. Popular Post Ala-Arska
Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power Icing the Cake Earn all Trophies in Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power Ah, my old arch enemy...cubes. What, that was it? Is this really the whole game? Seems like it's missing a lot. I really liked Trine 2 back in the day. Gorgeous graphics, upgrades, challenges... Trine 3 loses a lot of them. No exp or upgrading your heroes this time. What you see is what you get. A fat knight, an incompetent mage and a hot rogue Difficulty is somewhat non-existent as well. With an exception or two, every level can be rushed through like Usain Bolt. Graphics are still kept astonishing. Those strikingly beautiful visuals are arguably the best aspect of this game. But, there's a lot more to a game than being really, really, ridiculously good looking. Like making more levels to it, if nothing else. Trine 3 is a short journey with a cliffhanger ending. This all feels like taking the easy way out, grabbing the money and running This should have been a DLC for something else, now players are left with their dicks in the wind after the "final" boss This is a promising title that ends up being unfinished in a sense. But it's cheap and pretty, so it serves as a quick pleasure
