Popular Post Beyondthegrave07
Platinum #56 Ratchet and Clank (PS4) Difficulty: 2/10 Fun: 9/10 Recommend?: OMGosh yes! This is it! This is the best Ratchet and Clank game I've ever played (Sorry up your arsenal). The weapons were great and really did a great job of grabbing the best weapons from each game. The graphics blew me away and everything that I hated about the original Ratchet and Clank was fixed in this one. Just to name a few: Strafing was now included (NOT in the first game). You can upgrade weapons. And lastly, Ratchet wasn't a gosh damn ass to clank the whole game. I mean seriously. Have you played the first game. Ratchet is such an asshole to clank and is so selfish the entire game. It was all about him and his revenge and he seemed like a whiny 2-year old the entire game. BUT the new game was different. Ratchet was the heroic character he should have been in the first game. I am so impressed with this one that I hope they remake the entire trilogy on the PS4 and keep blowing me away. Also, we would have THIS hot stuff to look forward to! (You can stop drooling now!) Popular Post AJ_Radio
Quick recap of the last few platinums I've obtained: Platinum #111: White Night (September 1st, 2017) Difficulty: 2/10 Excitement: 8/10 A unique horror walking simulator/point and click style game, set in the 1930s in Massachusetts. From the get go I was drawn into the unique art style. Except for the flickers of flame and fire, White Night is entirely in black and white. That's not a bad thing however, as the game looks quite interesting by it's first impressions. The story is a pretty grim one. Women have vanished in the nearby area, and you play as a character who has yet to get his bearings as he explores a haunted house. While that may sound cliche and pretty generic, the story was enough to keep me drawn in. Some places have light, but much of your exploring is through the use of matches. Matches only give out a little light, so you're essentially exploring rooms that have virtually no light. This creates a genuine horror experience, but not unlike a lot of other horror themed games. Thankfully the game gives you more than enough matches, as long as you're careful you shouldn't run out of them. There are many collectibles, so it is advised to consult a video walkthrough for this game. Some of the collectibles are related to past events in the local newspaper, but most of them are based on the inhabitants of the house, long deceased. Further on you realize that the history of the family who lived there was not a happy one. When you find out what has gone on by the end of the game, there is a bit of a facepalm moment. However the game was pretty easy, and exploring each of the rooms gave me a bit of a spooky experience. Throughout the game there are various ghosts that will chase and attack you if you get too close. This is my one major grip with this game as sometimes it is difficult to see exactly where they are, when you are attacked by a ghost you have to load up your save. The ghosts are actually a part of a gruesome tale, and the story, while not perfect, helps reveal their presence. White Night is fairly obscure, but it is well worth playing. The trophy list is pretty straightforward, with a few trophies related to the cycles of the moon and the time of night. It's probably easier to manually set your time to a day when the moon was full. As long as you started playing after 8:00 pm, you can earn the trophy for beating the game in one night. Even if you can't beat the game in one night you can just manually set the time to just after 8:00 pm, and you can easily earn that trophy without needing a second playthrough. Definitely recommended. Platinum #112: Volume (September 2nd, 2017) Difficulty: 2/10 Excitement: 6/10 Volume is a stealth, VR (virtual reality) style game that focuses on utilizing stealthy maneuvers to beat the levels. You play as Locksley, who is against the rich and corporate run organizations. Unfortunately, I literally cannot remember most of the story. Some of the dialogue is quite funny as it instills a bit of British humor. But apart from that, I forgot the plot by the time I was finished. Volume plays similarly to Metal Gear Solid's VR missions, where you have to instill strategy and use gadgets to sneak past the guards. The game starts off with the standard rifle soldiers, who have their line of sight, whether stationary or patrolling. Later on there are snipers, guard dogs and knights who each have their own methods of taking you down. This game isn't anything different from most other stealth games, but compared to the Metal Gear Solid franchise and Tom Clancy games, Volume is very easy. I really did not find a whole lot to be excited about for this game. There are 100 core levels, which are all required to beat for the platinum. The early levels are very simple, usually sneaking past guards and reaching checkpoints, not that you really need those since the levels are very easy. Later levels are more complicated, but nothing an average gamer can't get past. You hide in lockers, jump over walls, use bugles to distract guards, pretty standard material for a stealth game. But I just couldn't get into this game, it really felt boring at times as I was merely playing sets of levels that weren't all too different from each other. This game is fairly easy to beat. Trophy list is standard, with a few trophies that require a bit of grinding. If you want an easy stealth game, Volume is definitely a good choice. I'm sure a few people really enjoyed this game. For me however, I just didn't like it all too much. Edited September 21, 2017 by Spaz
DrBloodmoney
#287 - GRAVITY RUSH 2 As a big fan of the original Gravity Rush, I am quite sad to say I was very disappointed with the sequel. The graphics and the world are greatly improved and expanded, and the feel of the controls is as fun as ever, but this time the missions felt overlong, infuriatingly limited in scope and far to relient on limiting the use of the very powers that make the game fun. there are a huge number of 'insta-fail' stealth sections that require a boring, trial-and-error approach to finding the path the designers want you to take, an over abundence of additional control methods (none of which add much to the game, and all of which feel less good than the basic controls) and every boss fight seems unnecessarily long and dull. The challanges are good fun still, though some require a level of fine control that the game cannot match, and so end up being a bit more luck-based than they should be. the most fun part of the game is simply flying around the environment collecting gems - which feels great - but a tip for games designers: If you create a great feeling game mechanic, don't then build game missions that constantly restrain the player from using those mechanics! A damn shame, and what feels like a real squandered oppertunity.

I'm glad it didn't. I mostly enjoyed it but there were some things that annoyed me, like one-time use shaders and the raid. The raid was really difficult at first but we managed to complete it in about 12 hours. I couldn't have done it without my raid group (Jeanmi96, Druoxrodest, PowerPyx, Zozrge, XXLmonkey) so thanks to them. After the first completion, the raid has become a lot easier. My goal was to get to the top 50 on the first achievers list and it looks like I achieved it. Also, one more platinum until I'm at 100 platinums.
Popular Post Fire
#150 - Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc Despair's Last Reward Earned every other trophy in the game Puhuhuhuhuhuhuh !!! Before i started, i kinda knew what to expect from the game, but still I had tons of fun with it! The main story is clever and every next chapter was better than the previous one, and more intense. Also the cast of characters is very different in terms of personality and charisma. . School mode was fun at first. I liked the resource management aspect, though it was a bit grind having to replay it 5 times to get each ending for each character. Nonetheless, the game has good visuals, good writing, good music and catchy gameplay that mixes a bunch of stuff, so it is overall very good. I would definitely recommend this game since it's a must have for every VITA owner Difficulty 2/10 Enjoyment 10/10 Edited September 21, 2017 by Whyfire

I'm absolute rubbish at inputting those fast and long combos and getting the timings right, so most of difficulty points were from Challenge mode. Popular Post voodoo_eyes
#210 - Puss in Boots One of the weaker movie-based games. It's very short and unlocking trophies ended up being a problem, as they stopped unlocking halfway through the game for some reason. SO I had to replay most of the story to unlock them. Apparently it's a somewhat common issue with this game. At least it was cheap and an easy plat. I'll be trying to sell it off asap though. Popular Post AJ_Radio
Platinum #113: inFamous (September 8th, 2017) Difficulty: 5/10 Excitement: 6/10 Last year I finished inFamous Second Son and First Light. Enjoyed both of them for what they offered, but a few things prevented them from being my favorite PS4 titles. This year I finished Festival of Blood, a decent DLC standalone using the inFamous 2 game engine. So technically, I played inFamous 2 BEFORE I played inFamous 1. inFamous 1 is easily the most difficult of the inFamous games. Transversing the city isn't quite as fluid as in later games. Graphics simply don't hold up well compared to other Playstation exclusives like Uncharted 2 and God of War III. Even a number of nonexclusive games looked better. This was Sucker Punch's first foray into making a more mature game, after they retired the Sly Cooper series to Sanzaru Games. The story is fairly basic. You play as Cole McGrath, a bike courier who picks up a mysterious package. Suddenly a chunk of Empire City explodes, leaving a large crater. He becomes a Conduit, humans who can absorb and use the various elements. This is where the game begins. While I did enjoy the first inFamous, it is a bit of a chore to play. Compared to other inFamous games, enemies are tougher and have pinpoint accuracy, making it difficult to dodge their shots. Side missions are your basic escort your enemies to a destination, disabling security cameras on a building, killing off a horde, etc etc. Nothing too out of the ordinary, mostly your basic missions and activities in an open world game. Easily the worst thing in this game are the Blast Shards. Now I don't mind collectibles in an open world game, but when you have 350 Blast Shards all scattered throughout the map with absolutely no way to track them, that can cause headaches. To avoid much pain and grief I printed out an actual map with all the Blast Shards listed, crossing them off with my pen as I went. Not necessarily difficult because there is nothing skill based, but very annoying. All for a bronze trophy, which is a real slap in the face. The Stunts may take a little bit of skill. But a couple are no much less annoying than the shards. Deflecting a grenade is more difficult than it sounds, since most enemies only use them every now and then. Using energy blasts on the grenades is very finicky, often throwing them far past the enemy that used them, or throwing them in a completely different location. It's luck based and trial and error, making the 'Right Back At Ya' stunt difficult to pull off. Another difficult stunt is getting three High Fall takedowns at once. Again, mostly luck based since you're generally not going to find three enemies close enough to each other to use an energy blast on them. Getting that stunt took me a solid one - two hours to get. Incredibly annoying and frustrating. Thankfully, the later inFamous games do not require you to perform all the stunts. There were certain missions that were tough on Hard difficulty. Overall the first inFamous game is mostly a chore. I did enjoy this game, there were a few good things about it, but when I was finished I was glad I was done. Definitely a platinum to be a little proud of. It was good to know I'm not a part of the "349 Blast Shard" club. Popular Post marvelboy10
#85/86-Energy Cycle(PS4/Vita) Energy Cycle Platinum Good job! Completed all tasks! When I first heard of Energy Cycle I said to myself "That sounds like an intriguing game. I wonder how difficult that would be". So I waited until release day arrived and noticed that people were completing the game in very fast times. Flabbergasted and astonished I investigated and I uncovered that there was an exploit being used. This exploit saves a tremendous amount of time on obtaining the platinum for the game. This made the platinum 2x easier than the developers intended for it to be. Then more versions of the game released and the exploit still worked. So I went on the PS Store, saw the price which is currently $3 for all 4 versions I assume, and( with permission of course) I purchased both the Vita and PS4 versions. After playing and platinuming both versions I can happily say that this was a super easy game that didn't pose any challenge in the slightest. The whole premise of the game is to make all the dots that appear onscreen the same exact color. You do this for 28 levels and If you're using a walkthrough guide then this should definitely be a cake walk. You can obtain the platinum in less than 15 minutes on all versions if you're fast enough of course. On the Vita version I'm currently the 41st fastest achiever. https://psnprofiles.com/100-club/6334-energy-cycle. On my Vita run I messed up the exploit glitch which cost me 2 minutes so I could have gotten a lot faster but what can you do. Over all, just like My Name is Mayo, Energy Cycle is yet another easy platinum that no trophy hunter should be ashamed to add to their collection. Until next time, have a great day! I thought it was great. I would love to see the sequels get released on PS4 too. That would be awesome. The humour in the game was excellent and there were a couple of occasions where I genuinely laughed out loud. If you like point & click games you'll enjoy this. It's one of the best examples of this genre I have ever played. It's extremely well done. Well that's 44 platinums this year for me now and I have officially matched my total for 2016. Popular Post AJ_Radio
Platinum #114: Sherlock Holmes: The Devils Daughter (September 11th, 2017) Difficulty: 2/10 Excitement: 6/10 Estimated Time to Platinum: 8 - 9 Hours Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter is the second Sherlock game I've played and platted. Also the second title I've played from Frogwares. Devils Daughter has much of the same gameplay that was present in Crimes and Punishments, so since I already talked about that game in length I don't really need to explain how this game works since they're both very much identical. Unfortunately Devils Daughter wasn't all that great of a title to play through, mostly due to the excessive QTE sequences. Starting off, I get one of the most bizarre starts I've seen in a long while. Sherlock Holmes is basically running through the wilderness, with no explanation as to why. Turns out he was being hunted, which is the main plot in the first case as various people have gone up missing. The forest section in the case is one long aggravating QTE sequence. Basically you have to dodge incoming bullets, which Sherlock somehow knows how to do as he hides behind rocks, trees and picks one of two paths to continue. One of these two paths is always a dead end, which means restarting from the latest checkpoint. Later on Sherlock comes to a swamp, and he has to use his Detective Vision to find a clear path out of it. Apparently wandering too far from the path results in him suddenly falling into a pithole, leading to his death and therefore another restart from the latest checkpoint. To cut a long story short, putting that long section into the game was bullshit. Sherlock is supposed to be solving cases and analyzing clues in a methodical manner, not trying to outrun a crazed hunter. Almost as equally bad is a lengthy bit in the second case where Sherlock envisions himself inside a Mayan temple. Now technically he didn't really visit that temple, he saw a model of the temple that his potential suspects explored and therefore threw himself into it. So was I playing a Indiana Jones, Tomb Raider, Uncharted game? Apparently I was there for a while, because I had to pull levers, navigate through two rooms with traps on the floors and wander through hallways that only serve to annoy the player. Completely unnecessary. There were a couple QTE sequences involving eavesdropping on a conversation, using the L and R sticks on the PS4 controller for balance. Not a very good way to do eavesdropping, as it was more annoying than enjoyable. Even a bar brawl, which could of been quite alright had the execution been good, was poorly implemented, leaving me to wonder what Frogswares was thinking when they designed it. Nearly all of the new QTE sequences in this game were a hindrance, and were very unnecessary for what is supposed to be a crime solving game. Despite my issues with The Devils Daughter, the game does come through on a good note at times. I enjoyed questioning all the potential suspects and witnesses for the cases, testing a theory at the experiment table in Sherlock's home, analyzing the evidence in the evidence room at Scotland Yard, looking over a dead body for any clues, and piecing together everything I've collected, learn and done in a case to form a conclusion. Watching all the conclusions in a single case was a bit fun, because I can see how different conclusions lead to different results. Sherlock Holmes, Watson and Inspector Lestrade were all given makeovers. Sherlock and Watson both look younger and more fit. Personally I hated seeing their new looks, but I got over it fairly quickly as Sherlock and Watson weren't short on their jokes and quirks. An American actor makes his appearance later on, who I found a bit funny but was nonetheless a bit of a buffoon. The overarching plot was a bit of a disappointment, which poked at personal feelings and beliefs more than actually solving crimes and finding the prime suspect, which was moreso the case with the previous game Crimes and Punishments. Overall, The Devil's Daughter is not really a bad game or a terrible game, but it is an unremarkable entry for the Sherlock series. If Frogwares ever decides to make another Sherlock game, I can only hope they remove the annoying QTE bits and replace them with more cases. Personally I found Devil's Daughter to be too short. I would of liked to see more cases for the duo Sherlock and Watson to solve. The trophy list is disappointing, only rewarding you for completing the cases rather than solving them in the correct fashion. It was a waste of a list. But all in all, I would at least give this game a try. Just don't have your expectations up too high. Edited September 23, 2017 by Spaz

Popular Post Kishnabe
Platinum #158: Mecho Tales (Vita) 4-6 Hour platinum. Very short game, with around 16 levels (Boss Levels have less areas to cover, easy to get to the boss) Checkpoints however are few. There are areas that you might die a lot, can be frustrating to start from the beginning. It might be to your benefit to take some hits just to speed through the level. Some areas have far too many enemies, you have to try shoot from far away. Hang on blocks and cheaply hit with rockets. Final Boss was a pain in the ass. Tried to fight him fair, and kept on replaying for 30 minutes. Got annoyed at some point, might as well camp in the far left and shoot in his direction. To my surprise, I barely won the fight. Easy platinum. It is cross buy with PS4 version. Which should have a separate list as well. 19.99 might be a too pricey. Shu is half the price with more varied areas and better art/music. Though Shu has time trials and collectibles. There are two short stories. Set in Mecho War world, there was an earlier game called Mecho War. Performed better using R1 to jump ( you can use X, but that gets int he way of the right analog stick to shoot) This game was in the works in 2009 for PSMini. Did not pan out? Looked way different: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=67126&highlight=mecho+tales IMO, I like the older look than the Plague Road artstyle. Popular Post KittiBear
#23 Root Letter (Vita) This was a little more painful than I expected it to be. The reason for that being... On my final ending run my system data for the game became corrupt... So I lost everything! I still had my saves and such, but my progress towards choosing every letter response, having all endings, and my item collection was completely lost so I ended up having to replay each story (with the skip function) to get the letter responses and endings as well as play chapter 1-7 without skipping in order to collect the items again (they don't unlock if you skip!). So that was a bit painful cause I was 2 chapters away from being finished and then I needed to do everything again >___< BUT! When it comes to the game I really, really enjoyed it! I love visual novels. The endings of this one were very unique and different too. Sometimes with visual novels the endings can be very samey with maybe one or two things changed but each ending to this game really existed in its own realm. There were lost connections, romance, supernatural encounters, and horror. It was really awesome. Repeating chapter 8 without the ability to skip each time was a pain because it was always more or less the same thing, but each run had a different chapter 9 and 10 that were always exciting and unique. I had been wanting this game for awhile and picked it up in a recent sale digitally. I plan to get it physically too at some point, to add to my collection. Would recommend! But as usual the PS4 version may be a more stable choice than the Vita version... I just love my Vita so much haha. I guess I'm a sucker for punishment.
