#60 - Ratchet and Clank: Full Frontal Assault

Recommend: Sure, why not?

 

This is my 29th platinum this year and I am only 2 away from my ultimate goal of doubling my plat total for the year. Next up: Remember me!!!

Not bad of a game, but it was really short and the final few trophies are BOORIIING to grind for. I thought it would never pop!  I had to literally listen to music as I used my hoverboots and ran around in a circle for 3 hours until the trophy finally popped. I enjoyed the little bit of story that the game actually had and I liked the gameplay of pretty much capture the flag (or defend the flag). It was a fun, short game that amused me for a few hours, but that's really all it's good for. If you like Ratchet and Clank games, you'll probably like it OK, but it is definitely the weakest title of all of the Ratchet and Clank games that I have played. Though, I have zero interest in playing All 4 One, so this one might just have to sit at the bottom of the list for eternity. It has online trophies, but they were pretty easy to get and only took a few tries to find a person online, and it was even kind of later in the evening when I did it. The great thing though is that if you have a sibling or child and want a game to play together for some bonding, this may be your game. It has some pretty strong Co-op play that really makes you play as a team. I'd recommend taking this route instead of playing it alone... Maybe it won't feel so much of a grind? Well, I guess someone else can test that theory because I am done with this game.

This game was really fun I'm not the greatest at racing games but I didn't find this game that challenging but it was a really fun experience thanks to everyone that helped out with bling brigade trophy :).

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

The Key to San Andreas

Unlock all trophies.

 

An old favorite, I still play the multiplayer (SA-MP, PC) to this day. Randomly felt like revisiting this game a few days ago, saw that it's on PS4 so I just went for it.  Wish I didn't waste time screwing around though, I could've easily made the top 50 fastest achievers list.

Overall, a fun game with a lot of content, definitely keeping it installed for some of the minigames.

I am sure if it wasn't for all my status updates...no one would have ever heard of this game before. I won it free about 6 years ago and finally have gotten around to platting it. 

 

The game has a lot going for it. The graphics and music are charming and there are a lot of different mechanics in the game.

 

That being said let us rip it a new one

 

The music is very charming and I generally enjoyed it...except it ran on a 20 second loop and most levels were 6-10 minutes long so you heard that same 20 second loop a LOT. It got very grating especially when you had to play some levels more than once (and more on that later).

 

The mechanics in the game were fun to use as well. Your Clouds have different abilities and there were 4 different riders (you can see them in the plat image) and they all have different abilities as well. Most of them work quite well except the stupid fan machine. That thing was so broken to drive around that for some reason they made it a focus of a mini-game. That mini-game was near impossible as you had to drive this stupid fan machine around dropping blocks in pools of paint all the while it was falling over or getting stuck on something or just not moving where it should.

 

Those things are just small complaints though and you can get through the game with little to no problem. Each level has 4 medals to earn. 1. for kills, 1 for collecting Eggs, 1 for collecting a certain amount of oranges (or cloudberries) that enemies drop and 1 for Time. You should be able to get all 4 medals on 1 run through of the level or if you are a little slow then 2 run throughs. So after I got all the medals in the game I noticed I hadn't gotten the 1000 kill trophy yet...and there was still the 5000 kill trophy. This means that I had beaten EVERYTHING IN THE GAME AND HADN'T EVEN GOTTEN 1/5 OF THE KILLS YET.

 

So I did some math and fund that the best level had 36 enemies in it and I need over 4000 kills and that means I had to play that level about 150 times Now that 20 second music loop was going to get really annoying really fast. This is a Youtube game. 

 

Anyways I got the kill trophy today and I am finally done with this game after 6 years.

A nice little puzzle adventure which describes a communist controlled dystopian era. Very nice atmosphere and still not as unrealistic as it should be.

This was my first LBP game.  The create and MP trophies are a big, huge pain.  I probably spent about a week in create before the 1440hr trophy unlocked because only some of my "active" time counted.  The game itself was good.  Replaying levels again and again got really old.  I completed the DC DLC too, and it was awful.  It is terribly buggy.  I had a lot of trouble just completing levels without session ending glitches/freezing.  I really don't recommend picking it up.  Its not as fun as the main game either.

What a nice multiple choice game with real actors. Lets you feel more with a characters as in animated games in my opinion. Enjoyed it ! You really ask yourself „what if..“ all the time. Recommended.

Yeah, SA's not bad. The aiming/camera is a bit weird (on PS4 at least) but it's nothing that you won't get used to.

& GTA5- Same, I've played a lot of it on PC but I'd like to get the plat on PS4. I don't have a PS3 of my own but I would've went with PS4 anyway; I'd imagine the performance is a bit better..

So true.  Same thing that is stopping me from playing GTAIV.  GTA5 is so much better, imo.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole
More Powerful Than You Think
Really enjoy this game overall. Most of the joke and stuff is really funny just as expected from south park. Playing this game is just like watching a episode of south park. The only issue i have with the game is there is a bug for the "Fully Bloated" trophy. sometime it will glitch and won't pop up. making me have to play a second time to get it. Just remember to save a few back up before day 4 and hopefully you this bug won't occur in your play though.

This is a fun game, although I will say the second half of the game, feels a bit repetitive, you end up reaching a point where certain spam tactics are way too effective and you're not getting any more new characters, plus you have to grind to beat the final bosses, without being at least level 70 you will struggle (most seem to recommend level 99 for the final boss, which i managed at level 90, but at level 80 I was getting one shotted), putting that in perspective I reached the end of the game at around level 40. That aside this plays more like an action RPG than a Warriors game. That probably is a good thing for fans of DQ. The music in the game is great, as is the art style I can't get over how cute the monsters I have to beat the everloving crap out of in this game are. I also think a good reflection of how fun a game is how willing you are to replay it after you did everything the game has to offer. I definitely was about to start a new game plus, but then found out that new game plus on this game is just an even easier mode where you have most of your stuff and more skill points, which is a shame. A higher difficulty new game plus mode would've been great. Either way now the sequel has price dropped I might grab it. I was delaying purchasing it, because before we got the PS4 version an enhanced Switch version was annouced combining the first and second games.

This is a very beautiful visual novel. I liked all the storylines a lot, although Saint-Germain's and Van Helsing's stories were particularly touching. They are the most mysterious characters and the pain that they reveal during their routes is remarkable. I also liked to know Victor, since he reveals himself to be sensitive and kind. Anyway, I'm a very romantic person, so seeing the true endings of the different characters melted my heart. I also love the platinum image; it's probably one of the most beautiful that I have in my collection.
