RedRodriguez87
Cop-letionist I guess its accurate to say that if you've played on Lego game, you've played them all. Its silly, goofy, with lots to do but easy to do so. Thats pretty much it, no real changes to the formula. Though I will mention what I don't see alot of that really deserves credit, and that is that many LEGO games have one or two really epic moments, often in their final acts. IE in this one, you take one final dive through space, and space looks gorgeous. Add in an outstanding choir piece playing in the background, and lets face it, you got one helluva finale. Go ahead, spoil yourself and check it out. Other than that, a sort of been there done that feeling. Popular Post madbuk
#233 - Darksiders Warmastered Edition Darksiders 1 is an incredible game. Its combat is extremely satisfying and enjoyable, and the Zelda aspects are done perfectly. Exploring dungeons, solving puzzles, finding heart pieces (in this game known as life shards) is a lot of fun. I especially like how the health system works. Each "heart container" gives you an entirely new health bar, so while you do take a lot of damage later in the game, you can take a good number of hits if you've been exploring and upgrading. It felt like you got new health bars at the perfect pace so that the game is consistently a decent challenge, but never unfair or overwhelming. The abyssal chain was a lot of fun to use and makes me excited for Fury's whip in Darksiders III. The void walker also made for some fun puzzles, it's essentially the portal gun from Portal. The game gives you this new gear at the perfect pace too, keeping the gameplay fresh and interesting the entire time. Replenishing health via green soul chests was also a good mechanic as you can definitely find yourself in a rough spot with little health remaining, but you won't have to wait too long to find another chest to replenish that health. And the game gives you the tools to get out of those sticky situations - chaos form saved me several times from near-death during fights, and War's evade move is generally pretty reliable to avoid attacks. If you enter a fight, you can do it no matter your health. This was a stack, I had already done this game 3 years ago, but it is so much better than I remember. I mean, I remember enjoying a lot, hence why I stacked it. But holy shit... it's phenomenal. Just pure enjoyment from the very start to... almost the very end. The grind of killing about 2000 spiders wasn't very fun. Shame about Darksiders II, not a fan of that at all and can't really put my finger on why. Haven't played it in months so maybe I'll give it another chance, since this game was so good. Cannot wait for Darksiders III.
Popular Post vampiresarego
#49 - Telltale's The Walking Dead (PS Vita) 30th November 2017 The Walking Dead 1 year, 2 months, 3 weeks, 6 days, 13 hours This is the second time I have earned this trophy, so there isn't anything new to be said about this game. I platinumed the orignial PS3 version, and now have finally finished the Vita version. The only caveat is that I only played this version while I was travelling. I played this on the way to Thailand and back, as well as on my way to Germany and back. The bigger achievement was the trips and exploring new countries. So really, I got a platinum trophy for finally achieving the dream of travelling. GO ME!!!
Popular Post BrutalLooter
Platinum #127: Overwatch: Origins Edition Did the base game trophies without boost! I mentioned that in the very beginning because it is really something to brag about to be honest. That took me 124 hours and truly worth it. And im very proud of doing it legit. This game has some of the hardest and weirdest trophies, some of the trophies are really ridiculous in base game too, but thankfully, the most ridiculously hard ones are DLC trophies( nearly impossible without boost) that i didnt have to try them doing legit. I loved this game and i intend to keep playing it for fun, one of the best competitive games i have ever played. I highly recommend it to all of you, you might regret about trophies but not the game. To conclude: this is one of my proudest plats and it was so much fun that even after coping with highly frustrating trophies for 124 hours, i still enjoy playing it and even intend to keep playing just for fun. Now, i wonder what would fill the gap that platting OW opened, Rainbow Six maybe? Popular Post FarSideOfSaturn
#20 No Man's Sky - Total Perspective Vortex - 9.03% No Man's Sky is going to be a nightmare to review. I'll start by saying I don't keep up with gaming news, so when the hype train was in full swing, and the backlash that followed after release, all of it went over my head. That worked out better for me when I read some reviews before I bought it last month, knowing that I was buying a flawed game, or at least not the game it was presented as. My hopes for it maybe weren't as high as some others, but being into astronomy I had to give it a try. For somewhere around 40 hours I played the game naturally, there is a story, side quests, but I got the feeling that the game is at it's best when it's about pure discovery. The first 40 or so hours of doing nothing but flying from planet to planet, solar system to solar system were incredible. Arrival on a frozen planet Arrival in a solar system But something happened after those 40 hours. The sights were still spectacular, but in an universe with 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 planets to discover...you'd think the variety of what the game wants to show me would last a little longer. By that I mean, the same species appearing multiple times in entirely different solar systems, NPC dialog and story related progress beginning to loop, the same type of bases, random encounters, even the planets began to look samey after a while. It was awesome to land on a planet or travel to a solar system not knowing what to expect, but that sense of wonder and discovery for discovery's sake wore off pretty quickly. By the 40 hour mark, I felt like I'd seen everything the game could possibly show me. For the sheer size of the game, I was disappointed that it began to repeat itself so quickly. One thing I did like, is how alone the game can make you feel. Add in the hostility from other travellers, the environment, species, it feels like the universe wants you dead sometimes, just like how I'd imagine exploring the universe would be. The combination of the visual side of the game and the soundtrack is another strong point, it kind of reminded me of exploring in Skyrim. You'd come across some amazing scenery and the perfect song would kick in at the right moment. It's great at creating an astrosphere. When I turned my attention to the platinum, oh man Word of advice, if you want to platinum this...buy the physical version and at least pop the Gapapagos trophy in the version before it was patched. I have the digital version and had to do it the hard way, while it is easily a 25 hour platinum pre patch, the post patch version of the game took me to 86 hours total because of galapagos. Other than that the platinum is a fairly easy ride. In short, the hours after you leave your starting planet are incredible, when your excitment to get going and see what's out there is at it's peak it's a fantastic game and I'm grateful for that. Unfortunately it doesn't last quite long enough, even after the updates I didn't feel like I was playing a finished game. Maybe that'll come in future updates, if there are any. , If nothing else, the platinum for this was a real space odyssey (mostly because of galapagos stretching it out, the amount of planets I've discovered and uploaded to the server is incredible). I'm glad I did it. Enjoyment: 6/10 Difficulty: 3/10 Game Rating: 6/10 Edited December 6, 2017 by FarSideOfSaturn
Popular Post ShonenCat
Platinum #15 - Hyperdimension Neptunia Difficulty Rating 4/10 Enjoyment Rating 7/10 Rare 12.36% After months of speculating what kind of game Hyperdimension Neptunia could be, I now know pretty well. It is a JRPG with a huge emphasis on dungeon crawling. Say hello to Neptune, everyone's favorite amnesiac who was previously defeated by three other CPUs like herself in an unfair 3-on-1 battle. She plummets from Celestia to the world below. She wakes up in her savior's apartment (Compa) with no memory of the past. With a small voice echoing in Neptune's head, the one known as Histoire requests that our hero sets out to find the Key Fragments that'll set her free. Soon after, Neptune and Compa meet up with IF and the three set out on a journey to defeat monsters, free Histoire and defeat the former goddess known as Arfoire in order to keep the peace in Gamindustri. The game can be completed in one playthrough but only with very careful consideration. One must see all monsters, events and dungeons. I recommend a dungeon/monster list so you don't pass any up because there will be scenario dungeons that you cannot return to once completed and some of those have exclusive monsters that only appear in them. Keeping an eye on Landmass Info is key. For whenever an event can be watched it's best to do it right away or at least before you head off to the next scenario dungeon or you may lock yourself out of seeing that event till next playthrough. Getting S rank in all dungeons is also required but it's not at all difficult as it sounds and only applies to dungeons with timers, not the scenario ones. Also, you must not let Neptune faint in battle. Doing so makes the "Other" shares go up and you can lock yourself out of recruiting the goddesses near the end of the game. Save often, before and after dungeons. Should Neptune faint, reload the save file. Last, make sure you fight the final boss without recruiting the goddesses first. This is because two different versions of that said boss will add to the monster list and thus are both required for completion. You can save your game afterwards and THEN recruit the goddesses later for the real final boss fight. Do I plan on jumping into other Hyperdimension Neptunia titles in the future? Yes, I quite enjoyed this journey I embarked on with Neptune, Compa and IF. Plus, now that I own a PS Vita, I can experience many other titles in the series. I wish to start with ReBirth 1 to see how much it has improved upon the original. A dear friend of mine always seemed awfully passionate about this franchise. I owed it to myself and them to experience it first hand. I'm glad that I did ^o^
Popular Post Meacham
#231 55.92% rarity as of 06/12/17 My Experience One of the better VN I've played to be honest, it's little weird some of the stories but can't complain. Nothing overly complicated to be honest, just an initial playthrough and a bunch of different endings. Had it's likeable characters had it's annoying but that's what you get with any game. Not much to say about the game really, not much gameplay just an interesting story. Didn't rush through it as I can actually appreciate a good VN so no silly, done in 1 hour BS ahaha. I hope if you get round to "playing" this game give it a go. I usually like to write a lot about games but there really isn't much too much to say about it to be honest, other than give it a whirl. Popular Post Lilseb93
#98 - Planet of the Apes: Last FrontierDifficulty: 2/10 It's basically a 1 with a guide, but considering it takes at least 3 play throughs to get the plat and this gets VERY boring by the 2nd play through. The hardest part of the game is having the patience to sit through it. Enjoyment: 7/10 on 1st play through, getting the plat is like a 1/10 This game has a decent story and characters. This game is more of a movie than a game. All you do is move your stick left or right to make a decision, and you press X once in a while to do an action. That's it. But the multiple scenarios and endings didn't keep me interested in the other play throughs. In fact, it was unbearably boring to get this plat. It was a rough experience. I was watching videos on You Tube while the game was playing in the background lol. Edited December 6, 2017 by Lilseb93
Popular Post Katt
REMEMBER ME Remember you soon Unlock all trophies To be honest, I liked this game. The art direction, the lights and shadows, the music, everything is good here. But the story, I had some troubles to pay attention because It is not very interesting but nice revelation at the end of the game. The combat style is not my cup of coffee either, though editing different types of combos is really useful... but the game is not so hard, so the strategic part, you can almost discard it, unless you want to have all the trophies like me. I encountered some glitches, not a big deal but, there are a couple. Something I hate about this game is that you cannot skip cutscenes, hahaha. I found some sort of David Cage aura here, maybe it's because Dontnod Entertainment is a french videogame developer just like him. Man, if all these new developers could make a first release like Remember Me, videogame industry would be saved. Well i had to start somewhere so i started with this one, yeah this is my first Wolfenstein. The game is kinda short and the start it´s kinda slow, but the later chapters compensate for that. On the difficulty side it´s easy, uber should take a while but is not impossible, same with the challenges. The game is good and i recommend it. Anyway i´m going straight for the next one, so gotta keep going!
Popular Post James_Tonto
The Wolf Among Us Platinum #111 I had a lot of fun, with this game. The world of the game, kinda reminds me of other magical worlds, overlapping our own, like the Harry Potter universe for instance. I like the protagonist Bigby, the various characters all have great designs. The sheer variety of the Fables, is also brilliant. From the classic fairy tale characters, like Snow White and one of the three, little pigs. To the more modern urban legends, like the Jersey Devil and Bloody Mary. It's got a great soundtrack, and a great, noire-detective story.
Popular Post LightningVII-
#6 - Root Letter I would say this is a nice change of pace (It is don't get me wrong) but all I've been doing recently is the simple ones. It's my first VN that I've completed. It's starts off simple detective Max doing his business and then you get to chapter 8 and its like "you thought this story would be straight forward eh" Nah, it's definitely not, gameplay wise definitely but story wow, does it have complete u-turn towards the final chapters (depending on the replies ofc) The cursed one was random and a little brutal to be honest. That damn crow! UFO was just weird, I mean Nozu running around town in his bartender uniform when things were clearly going on, dedication to the job. "Princess Psycho" was just weird, she was literally agent 47 walking around everywhere green face and all everyones just like sup? The other two though were a lot more realistic. I'm a sucker for a happy ending so was good. Nicknames were brilliant as well, just walking around town name calling. Popular Post Izularia
#202: Oxenfree Leave Possible? Collect all trophies. Oh, that was an awesome game! It had a similar atmosphere to Stranger Things and the conversations between the characters are very well written. The game itself is basically a mystery story that is focused on the interactions between the characters - that's the strongest point of the game. The way you treat your friends will have consequences, especially for the ending. Great OST and some unexpected twists, highly recommended!
Popular Post Carol
#113 My Name is Mayo (Vita) My Name is Mayo! Unlock all the trophies! This game is so controversial, that I was curious to try it, so I decided to spend 1,19€ to experience how ridiculously funny it is to unlock 51 trophies in such a short amount of time. I don't think we can talk about something without trying it, so I had to play it so I could have an opinion. I certainly don't think this is what a platinum should be, but I also don't think people should feel ashamed of this plat, like the "Moral Code of Trophy Hunting" says. I certainly don't feel any shame for having this plat. After all, throphy hunting is just a hobby and there are clearly some funny moments, if you ever decide to try "My Name is Mayo". I certainly laughed at the "gorgeous blonde bombshell" : # 114 Assassin's Creed Origins Earn Them All! Earn every trophy. Back to the "decent" platinums, "Assassin's Creed Origins" was a must-play for me, since I was always fascinated with Ancient Egypt. This game is very good, entertaining and addictive. I couldn't put it down from beginning to end. There are a lot of things to do and even the side quests are interesting, diverse and fun to complete, if you want to level up a bit more before going to the main quests. The world is huge and gorgeous, making you feel that you really are in Egypt. I loved exploring and solving the tombs and I wish there were more of them. In fact, if there is something negative about this game is that, in my opinion, for a game set in Egypt, I would expect more mysticism and more temple/tomb exploration as part of the main missions. The game is still fantastic and I'm glad that the controls and the combat are much more fluid than in previous AC games. The platinum is easy, but the amount of locations to complete can be overwhelming. You can play all day and feel that you haven't done much. In conclusion, I enjoyed this game a lot. I haven't played many AC games, but I definitely liked this one more than Syndicate. Unity is still my favourite (yeah, I know everyone hated it, but I loved it, despite all the bugs: what can I do?). Assassin's Creed Origins also gave me the most beautiful platinum screenshot that I ever got! I wish I can visit Egypt someday :
Popular Post Stardroid
Dat Plat - Enter the Gungeon This game almost made me experience a premature midlife crisis. First hours in, I just couldn't consistently get passed the third floor. Felt like my reaction times and hand to eye coordination had suddendly decreased massively. So much so that I just left the game for what it was and focussed on the new expension Stormblood in FFXIV. As is almost always the case with MMOs, FF14 greww stale after a while and I decided to go for it again. To my surprise, I seemed to have a much better grasp on the game and made it to the fifth floor on my first attempt. Took me a while to get good at the game, but as you unlock more weapons, it does get easier. I did three legitimate runs of Lead God (no damage on bosses, without cloud save). One as in the dungeon itself and two in Boss Rush Mode. This trophy list in itself could have been a lot better if it weren't for the grindy trophies. Getting an X amount of kills on certain monsters that only spawn every so often on different floors isn't great, really. Wish it was replaced with another sort of challenge run. I had fun with those. There are two types of challenge runs. The blessed run, where your gun changes randomly to another gun throughout the whole run. Lastly you have the Daisuke's Trial. I had a lot of fun with this. Every new room, a set of extra challenges are added. Waves that stone you if not dodge, a trial of poison that contineously follows you until all monsters are dead, missiles that drop from the sky, half a life left upon one hit ... I beat the last boss having to kill him for half the fight with half a heart left. Very butt clenching. Nice experience, wish it wasn't so grindy.
