Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice

 

 

I had interest in this game for a while but didn't get it right away. After seeing all the awards it had won at the video game awards it got me really interested in it. I mean it did beat out one of my all time favorites for GOTY. It was on sale before Christmas so I bought it and started it up right away. I stopped playing it after just a few chapters. 

 

Went back to it this past week. I must say it is a well done game and deals with a  subject you don't see a lot of in games. The story is griping and I did really like Senua's character. The game play and combat is pretty simple. The puzzles is probably the hardest part of the game. Do I think it should of won GOTY over Horizon? No. It is a very short game and doesn't offer a whole lot of content. It does have good characters and the level design is great and the graphics are great.

 

Overall I am glad I went back to it and finished it. If it sounds like I am being critical, I guess I am in some ways. I think it could of been a little more to do in it. If anything it had kind of GOW feel to it and to me that was a good thing.

 

It is dark and creepy.

Well, this was my first JP Tales game, and it's one of the easiest to do. No difficulty trophies, so you can just do it all on Easy. But i still enjoyed it even if this was the third time i platinum this game

On this third run, i grew to like Alvin more, and  his voice. ( because i recently watched Gintama - only 25 episodes in Season 1, and i liked Gintoki's VA so.. yea ;d)

Gotta do Xillia 2 at some point and Graces F + Zestiria and Vesperia that i really want to start, but probably after i am done with Graces and Zesty first as a practice.

Soo, what can i say, i liked it! There were a lot of Kiseki game advertisements put into this game

The layout of the days and dungeons are so Sen no Kiseki style. the pattern is simple. As for characters, only 4 characters were to my liking, Rion, Goro, Mitsuki and Asuka. And my only complaint was the translation, sometimes it was totally off or wrong. Dunno, but it just felt like it.

It took me about 72 hours to complete everything, oh, as i didn't take notes of what Dungeons had 100% Treasures collected, i redid ALL of them on the second run.

Overall it was a great game for my taste ;d In fact i already ordered JP version on Vita. Not to mention Ex+ Versions that i will get sooner or later.

Another game done that i have platinumed before. But this time it was annoying, Controls were awful for me, especially auto-aim, it just randomly jumped from target to target before the previous one was dealt with and ofcourse bulletproof glass for cars which auto-aim can't get through for some reason ;D

Well since i own two PS3's this was a piece of cake to do, Online portion was done with my younger brother

I think i liked to play as a Cop much better than with a Racer. As a racer you can't even Restart the last played event as long as cops are onto you, which was just annoying, it's faster to get Busted and start the event again ;d Racer cars feel like a paper in comparison to Cop cars.

So, i still have PS4 to do, but after some frustrating moments in this game with the cops busting me and racers shockwaving me out of the map

that will have to wait a bit longer.

#181 - Mecho Tales on PS4 (5th platinum of 2018) - 81.46% Common

 

This is a platforming twin stick shooter of sorts.  You work your way through 8 worlds with 2 levels per world and various boss fights along the way.  The game itself is easy enough for any decent gamer but some will struggle with some of the fights, especially the final boss who is a pain.  However, overall its a good cheap game with a easy enough platinum.  If it ever hits the EU store I'll certainly stack this.

 

Overall 5/10 enjoyment with a 3/10 for difficultly

Hey! I'm axing the questions here!

 

Only four and a half years to ace this game. Take that, evil backlog!

I originally tried Hotline Miami on PS3 and then on PS4. At both times I found it too nausea-inducing and imprecisely controlled.

But finally I turned to my trusty PS Vita. Hallucinogenic graphics were easier on eyes and controls were responsive as f**k. Praise be, Vita  

This is as psychedelic title as one can be. It's bright, flashy, screen tilts left and right, neon colors fill every hole...this must be nightmare for an epileptic 

Soundtrack supports this delirious fantasy perfectly. It's full of masterful tunes, after countless of repeats I still find myself nodding along those violent beats.

And since I so elegantly mentioned violence, might as well inform you that HM has loads of it. Bucketloads to be precise, it's a gory ode to ultra violence 

Story is at first confusing, but opens up a bit the further player progresses. It feels like a result of an acid trip equivalent to Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas!

A few years back I found this game hard and punishing, now it was "just" decently challenging. Even getting A+ on every chapter (yes, every) wasn't hopeless.

Absolutely go and play Hotline Miami! I prefer the handheld version over the rest, but it's up to you ultimately. Drill that skull and bathe in blood!

I don't think this JRPG gets a lot of attention and it's a shame because I believe it's a well made game with an interesting story and characters. Basic summary? You play as Hinako Shirai, a former ballet dancer that after a serious injury, is left unable to dance goes back to attend her high school where she meets two mysterious girls where she learns that she was chosen to be a "Reflector" to collect fragments in an effort to save the world. Very simple but what made it enjoyable was that Hinako was a good protagonist. She acted like a high school girl and the game did a good job showing her daily struggle with trying to be a reflector but also trying to continue with her own normal life knowing she may never be able to dance again. All of the girls you interact with each have their own personalities with a defining character trait for each one. You get to spend time with these girls during free time moments and by doing so, you collect fragments by strengthening your bond between them. It's similar to Persona's mechanic but a lot less involved. You are really only limited to viewing going out with friends and the locations are limited. Combat is easy to learn but it takes away the challenge if you level up to early and get access to the higher level moves such as Grape Wave and Albatross. Even on Hard difficulty, battles are a breeze. I was a little let down by the ending but it didn't deter from what I believe is a great story with great focus on what girls struggle in High School. This game is NOT for everyone but I still recommend it to any RPG fan out there.

Nothing to say, you have to finish the game 5 times and the last one is the challenge:

 

Only two saves allowed, finish in less than 3 hours, received damage less than 500 points, finish the game 4 times + 1, melee kill 75 enemies and 75 by gun, less than 80 sec in the boat part, take more than 150 items including all 8 special items.

 

I was lucky to get this trophy on my first try but is a nice challenge!

Playing this game with friends is a definite must. It gets chaotic and funny with all the mutators you can activate during the game. In my personal opinion the easiest way to get majority of these trophies are to always play with 8 people (can be bots as well). You can get a lot of the kill trophies done with. Also there's a mutator you can get that you can physically see people instead of having to look at other peoples screen which made the game a lot easier as well. The only reason why I give a 4 is because the only annoying thing in this game are the time trials. Although physically writing down the routes that certain enemies are taking helped me out tremendously.

 

I played a couple of local games about a month ago with my family and only got a couple of trophies I wasn't trying for, but when trying for this platinum it literally only took me about two days to accomplish. Extremely easy, this game is also apart of the currently flash sale atm.

 

I figured I might as well get this done since this has been sitting in my backlog for almost two damn years.

Was alright I guess. Too many similar endings for my liking to justify having to go through it numerous times. Not a fan of the mini-game either, albeit not too difficult, it felt utterly pointless .

Finally, after 4 weeks i have platted this shit, probably the worst FF ever played, the only good things are a solid battle system and the growth of the characters via learning ability. The downside are graphics, story and music, all recicled from the previous game. I had much more fun playing last mission, a roguelike rpg that's end the story of Yuna and friends.

Why does this game suck so bad? I mean, the concept is simple, and should have been addictive as hell. But control is awful, the game is just same traps repeated ad nauseum, and it's literally a 5 minute game. I mean, even for $2.99, this is pathetic, and there's no reason for it to be so bad.

game done, i get to pick some new ones out on my list. next games will be Three Fourths Home: Extended Edition (ps4) and wolfenstein: The Old Order (ps4) thinking i will try me a shooter haven't had one of those in a long time (maybe increase my skill level).

Really cool game, loved it, actually i don't understand why so much people hate this one, sinced i played it years after the release, maybe i missed something, idk.

 

But this is a fairly easy plat, took me something between 40~50 hours, and 10hrs of those, was just grinding, playing the same event, with the same car, doing the same shit, over and over again. #Thankgodforspotify

 

The game looks amazing, works really well, loadings are pretty fast, has a lot of tracks, events and lots of cars, and lots of trophies if you own the dlc's. if you play on a snow race, with all max settings, like full snow/rain, it looks so real that you can't even play the event.

 

If you don't mind the grind, go for it, highly recommended. The gind didn't bother me tho, had lots of fun with it, and i'll definitely go back sometime to clean up the dlc's.

#223 - Dust: An Elysian Tail

 

This was a pretty fun Metroidvania style beat-em-up. It had big gorgeous sprites and some fun humor thrown in. 

 

The platinum was kind of lackluster though as there were trophies for bugging the blacksmith's brother or doing certain quests...but nothing for 100% the game. I mean would it have been so hard to take away some of the Quest trophies and just make a 100% completion trophy? I have never understood games doing that but especially in a Metroidvania style game where exploration is one of the main points.

 

Anyways a fun game regardless and worth a playthrough
